Good job. Today I rehearsed that song with my female counterpart--we are a duet and I play keyboards. Did you know that when they played live on an old "Midnight Special" (1975) episode and Tennille ended with five notes, singing, "Sedaka is back! It's a reference to the actual composer of this song, Neil Sedaka (born 1939; he's 85), American singer, songwriter and pianist. Since his music career began in 1957, he has written over 500 songs. "Calendar Girl" and " Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen" are two that I remember from the late 50s when I was just a kid.

@@neeni4 Oh wow! Thanks for sharing that. So Mr Sedaka recorded it himself first? I heard the original recording and also a live show on RU-vid! I am so stoked that his voice is as good as it ever was, he looks great, he's healthy, some great entertainer. What an amazing tenor and music icon! On the live show, he noted that his first Grammy was won for this very song. I do like what Captain and Tennille did with it. I'm trying to play that 4-bar intro with the Bass line's counterpoint to the piano--its not easy, but so nice to listen to!! Good luck to you, Janine and God Bless you!
So good..! I remember the time I was told that Hot Chocolate were in fact British...many years after playing some of their songs live and assuming they were from the "Motown factory" Crazy also to think that the songwriter (Russ Ballard) wrote songs for Kiss! Beautiful playing Janine.

As a guitar chord smith, the 70s and 80s are both challenging, expressive and a rich hit of nostalgia. Haven’t tired of it all yet…don’t suppose I ever will 🙂

@@neeni4 Will have a look later and come back to you! We've been in Australi in 2018 I think. We did a short trip from Nooza to Sydney and from there we went to Canberra. Must ask my wife if we've been in Melbourne, too. She lived there for two years and have relatives in Sydney! I hope we will get the opotunity to get there in one or two years.
