I have recently been so torn between going for dentistry and going for dental hygiene and therapy. I know that I have potential and I always tell others to never limit themselves but i also tend to be pretty realistic and think logically. I was wondering how I can figure out what route to take- I’m currently finishing year 12 (for the second time due to poor health circumstances) and I’ve booked my ucat, and am still planning on work experience placements to do over the summer as well as delving deeper into my hobbies. Because of how small the chances and acceptance rates seem, I tend to overthink ab whether i’ll even get in especially because i’m a generally introverted person. Nonetheless, I don’t think that should effect my interview performance etc. Would i be able to apply for 4 dentistry courses with the 5th being dental hygiene and therapy? or is that not allowed- does it have to be something outside of dentistry completely? I’ve just been pretty confused and haven’t found anywhere explaining it well enough. Would i perhaps be able to apply to two dht courses with the other three being dentistry? And what would i base my personal statement on? Is it better that i focus on dentistry as a whole or dht?? Also would i apply for the early ucas deadline even if some of my courses are for dht? I’m so sorry ab all the questions but i’m genuinely so lost 😭 so i would greatly appreciate any help!
@@ellie6923 it went alright, i passed so it had to have lol it wasn’t really an interview about myself it was more of a follow-up on my response to an ethical scenario i gave my opinion on, i just watched these vids to make me feel prepared and less stressed even though i knew they probably weren’t gonna ask any personal questions anyway
I know this is quite old but I just wanna say that for the 23/24 cycle, AQA examiners have specifically said to not write introductions :) I found your tips on demonstrating understanding of importance SUPER helpful btw! its where i always fall down during essays
Although I'd still prefer medical school (I want to be a psychiatrist), you made some goods points for when dentistry is a good career. I've got respect for you and all the other dentists out there.
Hey thanks for this it was super informative, I’m not from the UK so this is all super foreign to me. Do you know roughly how long the essay needs to be, and also do I need to provide them with identification documents for the ID check they talked about in the email?
Hey can you confirm for me if this syllabus is legit for 2024 exam qualifications.pearson.com/content/dam/pdf/International%20GCSE/Economics/2023/specification-and-sample-assessments/international-gcse-in-economics-modular-specification.pdf
Hey I’m also interested in doing an IRP but I’m a bit clueless on how to get started, how did you conduct yours? Pls let me know as I’m short on time thank you so much for your dedication to this video, it’s amazing!!❤
I have Y12 January exams tomorrow (in class not hall) for economics. After seeing this im confident I know what to do to succeed and get good predicted grades, however the tests tomorrow so not much I can do - how much do January exams affect your predicted grades in year 12? Surely they can't mean much as we've only covered like 10% of the spec
Hi Scilla, I've really been struggling with some of the more challenging gcse subjects but I took your advice, did the past paper again and got a grade 8- 38/70. Although the mark wasn't high I'm really proud of that grade and hopefully I can a grade 7+ in January mocks.⚛️ Thanks for your advice, as this helped a ton. 😁
no unis ever give unconditional on competitive courses such as this if you are currently studying in year 12/13, but you will be guaranteed an unconditional offer if you have already achieved your grade
No you aren’t screwed. When it comes to experience it’s quality over quantity. Even if you only have one, the most important things is how you reflect on it especially at interview. What have you learnt from it? How did it influence your decision to study pharmacy. What would you do different etc. it’s all about reflection. You’ve got this! All the best.
Yes they are relevant. Ethical scenarios do not change dramatically over the years, unless there has been a recent paradigm shift in the guidelines. All the best!
Hi, Im a medicine applicant and my PS is geared towards medicine, even though it does include pharmacy elements in the PS, i doesnt seem enough to express my interest and motivation for pharmacy as my goal is medicine. I received an interview invitation from nottingham pharmacy but how should i answer questions like "why study pharmacy?" or like "what made you interested in pharmacy, not other courses?" , since they already know my main interest is something else because of my PS, should i try answering as if i am truly interested in pharmacy nothing else, or should i answer with my medicine geared thoughts?
lool im in the same boat. I do have previous experience working as a pharmacy assistant for just over half a year at least so that'll help. if you have had any sort of experience working with patients or helping people in a medical/care setting, I think that could be a good aspect to talk about and how you would want to translate that into a pharmacist role as they deal with patients a lot. Also just look up pharmacy interview mock questions online and answer them to the best of your abilities whether alone or w a friend. Read up on pharmacy life including the course itself - even if it's not your main goal, you still have to seem very interested in it.
Hey there, I have got a lot of people asking this question and so I’ve just uploaded a video on how to approach the MPHARM interview as a med/dent applicant. All the best with your interviews!
Thank you so much for this I have a multi-mini-interviews next week and this was useful. I was just wondering what would come up in the assessments since I have an online test for a pharmacy school the same day after interviews. Thanks!💞💞
