The weight of the motor doesn’t throw the balance of the boat off? How heavy is that mercury? Getting this boat soon and I wanna make sure I don’t get a motor that’s too heavy for the boat
@@poobank we got it from Bass Pro in Anchorage Alaska at the boat center, it was about 1300 to 1400 and there was a deal going on, its regular price is like 1600
When you compare it to the Pond Prowler 10, its more boat like, but you are absolutely able to stand up and walk around the boat with one person. Me personally i like standing on the bench seat while fishing for pike. If you are looking for an extremely stable boat i would suggest the Pond Prowler 10 but the transom it has really sucks for outboards so if you plan on using an outboard, get the prowler 12 jon boat 👍
@@Connor-zb4uo i think a 9.9 would be overkill, its an extremely light boat and with just me on the boat the 6hp pushes it like nothing, but im sure it could maybe take a 9.9 because the transom is pretty tough but i would not suggest doing it. At WOT this boat begins to become unstable with the 6hp.
We take it off when not at a body of water, its not big enough of a motor/boat for us to need to keep it on plus we dont wanna damage the boat in transport
Love mine if I am by myself it does good and planes out. If you have 2 people in the boat in plows and never planes out. You need a 6 horsepower if you have 2 people I found out after I bought the new 3.5 horse mercury. It is great for trolling though.
not the poster, but i had my pond prowler 8 out last week and got caught in some heavier winds than i probably should have been in, probably as bad as this video. in all honesty the boat felt fine, i didnt feel like i was going to tip or fall out, it was just uncomfortable ride. i got soaked and there was water in my boat from splashing.
@@jaymcwethy9026 since I posted this I bought the prowler 10 .....iv been out in worse conditions than this....this boat is a gem and handles very well....I just don't ever want to push it to the point I'm in serious trouble.
