There’s fish about but sometimes it can be difficult depending on water conditions and salmon runs . That’s what makes amazing when you do catch . Thanks for watching.
Totally agree, I'm in south Wales, but the couple of hours either side of midnight have always been most productive. I fish lure and fly, not sure I have a favourite, love them both. But you need to be on top of your fly cast in the dark.
Hi , yeah it’s a beautiful beat good luck in July, No Sea Trout for me yet but I’ve not fished it in the last 3 weeks when I believe a few have been caught. Thanks for watching the videos pal .
Hello Eden Lacy looks a fine beat and I hope to fish it this July.(Fishpal) I usually fish downstream...lost a day with that late May rise this year. May get distracted with the trout rod, spiders and dries..!!. Cheers excellent video and your fish on the other video inspires. Liked your Border Esk video...any sea trout about? Simon Artley
Congrats on the Salmon pal, so difficult these days, even if you chuck money at it. Got to be Lucky. God help those anglers who only fish to catch fish. Glad i found ya channel, n great to see ya looking after ya dad🥰 Probably more impotrant then actually fishin.
What a well made video, loved it. Great scenery and that looked a great bit of water, shame about the lack of fish Also what a pleasure to see a well trained spaniel. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to seeing more.
Very enjoyable videos, have fished tweedswood myself, had my first fly caught salmon there, lovely beat to fish with a fly, look forward to seeing more, tight lines.
Yeah I always fish a short line first, sometimes on the video you only see the end or it been edited for whatever reason . I try and keep the video as natural as possible tho as much as I can. Thanks for watching .
Really enjoying your vids, great gillie there in Phil, he'll go to the end of the world to get you a fish. 2 small tips that may help. 1. You saw a salmon at your rod tip, but then put out nearly a full line, cast short at first and work out a yard at a time. 2. On your d-loop stroke accelerate to a stop and then pause to let the loop form, you're starting slow and same speed throughout, accelerating whilst lifting the rod and not cutting the corner will give you a bigger d-loop, which will load the rod much better. Tight lines fella 👍
Nice watch. Brought back a lot of happy memories for me from my youth (live in Australia now) We fished the Tweed at Melrose when we were in our teens, gorgeous water, the whole area around Melrose and Peebles is lovely. Weather wasn't great from memory so we holed up under some big overhanging trees (weren't wading) we didn't catch much. Trout, some eels and big roach !! Yeh - big roach. Not in the fast running water but in the slow deep water along the edges. We were back in the UK a few years ago pre covid, and spent some time at Peebles, not fishing though - river still looked lovely. Tight lines Doug (from Down Under)
I’m glad you liked the video and it brought back some great memories. Thanks for watching and enjoy Australia plenty of fishing there for ya . Tigh lines .
Yes Eden was up and didnt drop easily last couple of weeks...fish have travelled through. Will be on the radar this summer... ...maybe for trout as well. Was wading ok?.. keep casting wading hoping.. Simon Artley
To be fair pal a lot of the time fresh fish don’t ump as much as fish that have been in the river a while . I’ve been on the Dee in September and there fish jumping everywhere but hooking them is a different thing 😂 Thanks for watching .
Fresh ones show on my river esp after April. Sometimes see em boshing their way up the tidal. And higher up when temporarily settled in lies though rarely in the shallow middle river. And almost rarely in middle river in running conditions. I agree the kippers upstream bosh about on the deeper holding pools. Our run dies off in mid June so don't see many brown uns on my stretches cos I don't go kipper bash8ng lol.
I dont like fishing in the sun unless the water is pretty brown, the fish dont seem to like it either exept early when the sun makes the watertemp go up a bit.
Some lovely fly water ..Eildon Hills in the background I can feel your anticipation..nice relaxed snap T...and no tough upstream wind .I had a somewhat "harsher" time downstream at Lees in early April !! Safe wading and yes they were about before this weeks rain and rise. Keep casting for those unicorns!!
Looks a lovely beat shame the fish a bit thin on the ground this year on the Dee. I would maybe try mounting your camera on your chest rather than head it keeps it more stable just a thought 🙂
Yeah I’ve tried that pal but it annoys me and sometimes you end up covering the lens with your arms or coat lol😂 Might try it again tho . Thanks for watching.
