@@Viftie Thanks so much! :) I actually haven’t worked on Mini Motorways! I almost did one of the trailers as a last minute thing to help out, but that was the closest I’ve gotten to it haha I’ve always just been on Mini Metro I definitely want to explore this kind of style more at some point. The whole “Reflections” concept of extending a soundtrack I’ve been on further with different elements was a lot of fun. So it may not be Mini Motorways but I’ll probably release more music like this at some point! Appreciate you listening!!
@@maxdugganmusic Oh, you actually worked on Mini Metro, I didn't know that! I thought the album was like a collaborative project afterwards. By the way I discovered it like a year ago and just realized that you were also the guy doing the Divine Voices mashup. Funny how the circle closes.
@@Viftie Yeah I’m one of the composers on the Mini Metro soundtrack! I started working for Disasterpeace making the Mini Metro EP a few years back and that transitioned into me writing the soundtracks for the updates in game. Chicago, Chongqing, Budapest, Boston, Tashkent, Warsaw, Tokyo, and Lisbon were all written by me as far as the music goes in game :) That’s so cool you found my music through Divine Voices! You’re not the first person to say that. I hadn’t realized the extent of the outreach of that mashup. It’s so crazy I made it when I was 18 and hear all of the production flaws now haha but it holds a special place in my heart.
So awesome bro. You are one of the most talented guys I know of right now. I absolutely love your style. It is my favorite. Super inspiring for my music as well. Keep it up. you rock.
Thank you so much! That means so much to me. I've been wanting to do a vinyl release for a while, but there's a lot of overhead to figure out. I have most of the groundwork laid out and I definitely intend to do one in the future. I thought it would be cool for the two year anniversary this December. I'll talk to Disasterpeace about it. I'll make an announcement on my Instagram if they're coming out soon and can definitely keep you posted!
Hey! I own the rights to it, but if you want to use it for something feel free to email me at Maxdugganmusic@gmail.com or DM me on Instagram @Maxdugganmusic. Remixes or backgrounds on RU-vid videos are totally cool as long as I'm credited. Using it films, games, or commercially is a bit more complicated. I would just need to send a license over depending on the project.
Thank you so much!! I’m glad people are liking the piano version as well! It was so much fun to work on. Loved the idea of putting procedurally generated music on piano and strings
This sounds really nice, I really how the bit with Home at the start sounds Did you edit it to sound like it was calm & over piano like that? I’ve never heard the song sound like it else where & just curious cause it makes the song sound all calm & stuff before it picks up after.
Thanks so much!! I wanted it to be really impactful when the Divinity sample started playing, so I tried to keep everything pretty quiet and calm beforehand while slowly fading in the individual instruments. I thought it would make a cool stylistic shift. Glad you liked it!
I just released a piano and string version of the opening track Shinkansen! You can check it out on Spotify and Apple Music :) Spotify: open.spotify.com/track/7bFtd5MqUJDvrYgfE4o7es?si=1886987d862a4587 Apple Music: music.apple.com/us/album/shinkansen-piano-version/1564020581?i=1564020582
I once accidently opened RU-vid link twice, without noticing. I was listening to this this sick off beat... But turned to be the second video being perfectly out of step for to sound good. I tried a dozen times to recreate it, and I managed a few times. It was like this effect here, but this is banging.
Some people messaged me asking for the Spotify link: open.spotify.com/artist/4ec665C4wBKnsaflIOUHvo?si=EfcKi4WETS2t-5622XlPXw Also I post music regularly on my Instagram if you want to follow me there! instagram.com/maxdugganmusic?igshid=1id2b0gvfqsn6 Thank you so much for listening :)
Thank you so much! Rich (Disasterpeace) mentioned to me earlier this year that he had the idea to make a version of Mini Metro's procedurally generated soundtrack in a Spotify/ album format. We wanted some songs to follow the gameplay and show all the different tempos and menus within a level. Those tracks became “The Underground” for London and “U-Bahn” for Berlin. I also wanted to write some tracks that used Mini Metro’s audio system, but had elements that were a bit different from the gameplay. Those tracks became “Shinkansen” for Osaka and “Reflections” for the Main Menu. “L” which is the Chicago track became a blend of both of those styles. I spent months creating recordings of the different outcomes you can get with the soundtrack and bouncing ideas back and forth with Disasterpeace. It was a really unique writing process and honestly one of my favorite projects I’ve worked on :)
@@maxdugganmusic That is tremendous! Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication to the process and the project. It turned out exceedingly well. As someone who plays at the top of the leaderboards I can attest to what you have captured. Now my only question is have you written something 3 hrs in length? ;-)
@@DaveKaufman Thank you! I've done a couple film scores but nothing that long haha If you want to check out some of my other stuff I worked Mini Metro's Chicago level and have another EP called Windfall on Spotify/ Apple Music. I also write a lot of soundtracks on my Instagram scoring different places I've traveled to and might be posting an alternate version of one of these tracks there soon :)
