Good progress in this update, well done. Had a thought regarding your rear light set up. A trick TVR used to disguise the lights they "borrowed" from other manufacturers was to turn them upside down on the opposite sides of the car. Might be worth a try if it helps you sort out the rear end? Keep at it. 👍
@@NitroNuggetTV its how i found your channel, was searching for videos with 1uz swaps. i'm putting a 1uz and an SC400/supra front suspension in a '69 rambler wagon. i do appreciate the fabrication in your build. there's very few channels that actually show how things are made these days. just ppl tooting their own horns and plugging for their sponsors. keep up the good work.
Thank you, I had everything ready to go in the car plumbed and cranking. Ran into issues with the megasquirt then found bad compression in 2 of the cylinders, I've had several sc400s before this and felt it was time to move on to a different platform. The sc400 subframe in a Ramblers going to be sweet! If you don't know already 99 ls400 rotors and calipers will swap onto the spindles with minimal work for a big brake upgrade. That's the setup on this build in the front
great video. cool to see what you have achieved, I have got my first project car, 2500tc triumph. no big changes just keeping it stock and getting back on the road, i have a second engine for it where I going make it a electric fuel injection and electric timing. posable supercharger mob too.
Looking forward to seeing what you do for the power bulge. Your wiring is very neat for the stage of construction. Better than my Seven. Interested in seeing the final weight and balance.
The car last weighed in at 2061lb with a 52f-48r weight distribution, however that was dry and before any of the trunk/roof had taken shape. I expect distribution to have a slight rear bias closer to completion and a weight around 2500lbs.
Planning to do some crude aerodynamics testing on a scale model of the car soon! Keep in mind this is built as a street car so perfect aero was never the goal, I'm on board with a roof spoiler as it seems airflow won't stay attached over the hatch
Love the hinged front. I suggest bulging out the sides for air exit, making the front out of aluminum and moving the battery to the trunk. Easy for me to say, hard for anyone to do.
Ye could use some Butel Tape on it tae still get ah seal on it. Would work great fer water tight also, ppl use it on boats getting port lights tae keep waterproof. <3
I've been following your updates on this and had no idea you've had a youtube channel all this time! This is one of the coolest project cars on the internet.
You have inspired me to build a car body only instead of messing with that space frame stuff I'm thinking stock v8 pickup lowered with the cab bed and front removed then just build the body
When I first saw the still of this I thought the "Locost" was a misspelling as I have both copies of Ron Champion's book and it is, in fact, a Locost under that skin. I wish I'd bought one of Ron's Lotus 11 bodies for that brief period he had them for sale.
There is no original car, it started as a bunch of extra Lexus Sc400 parts lying around then things escalated. The chassis was made with bulk square tube and steel sheet, everything else is a hodgepodge of used parts from various makes and models.
I like your design, I would give the side rear window the mustang vent design to give it the sport look, and the rear the Porsche look with a spoiler. I would also go with the chrome that goes on top of the rear window on the 58 Impala since you won’t have a window it will look very sporty. Congrats greetings from California.
First time in your channel. I am super impressed by what you are building. Everything looks super well thought-out and executed. And she beautifully looks like a not-too-distant cousin of an E-Type. Wow!
