How much time do you wait after putting on glass and resin before applying 1st coat of gel coat? How much time to wait before 2nd and 3rd coat of gel coat are applied?
can you plaster a fiberglass pool. I don't know what type of pool I have but the plaster started cracking severely and a big piece came (about 1.5 inch thick) off but it looked like fiberglass left under the plaster
Can your product be applied onto glass mosaic tiles in my swimming pool. 10mtr x4.5mtr X approx 75/80 mt3 of water. Will it stick on and for how many years, if so what're can your product be purchased?
Why not use 2 times gelcoat n time TopCoat as the last finish layer… insteadt of 3 times gelcoat...??? GelCoat isn´t WaterProof… TopCoat are because of the Wax....
I want to repair and paint my pool without adding a layer of fiberglass mat. Would the process be the same as yours here except for the extra layer of mat part?
What kind of fiberglass is that, all the chop strand mat (CSM) I buy falls apart too easily. This looks like it is being held together better. Is it E-glass, emulsion CSM? I would like to work with better material but do not know where to buy it.
Can you please tell me the best products to gel coat my viking pool? I called them and they where no help! I don't have any cracks, its just that the gel coat is faded. If its easier to gel coat just a color without the flakes in it that what i will do. Please if you can give me so info that will be great. Domenick
+We Swim , there is always a risk when draining pools. We always remove the drain plugs if one is installed, if not a plug, we will drill holes thru the fiberglass to relieve any ground water pressures. Sometimes there will be a well point installed under the pools also. We always play it safe, do not want a pool to pop out of the ground.
+joan moroso , sorry we do not go up to your area. There seems to be a shortage of companies willing to work on fiberglass pools. Good luck in your search.
where are you located? Do you know anyone in the Atlanta area who does refinishing? My fiberglass pool does not have cracks or areas really worn, the smooth surface has just become a bit rougher than it was when it was new and I would like to get it really smooth again. Can I just use one of the paints made for fiberglass surfaces?
Fiberglass is by far the best technology in pools for any surface Eg. All Concrete finishers marble seen, rendered finishers and fiberglass pools its self. It gotta be applied by a professional of course. Done wrong or by a amateur can lead you to all sorts of problems just like Mike Martinez comments down below, or others that have no experience or wrong methods in laying fiber glass. This can result in paying some else to fix and clean your mess and a bigger bill to pay. It OUT DOES any other surface by far in terms of longevity & Maintenance If you are in Sydney NEW SOUTH WALES GIVE AUSSIE POOLS a like or email us on FACEBOOK AUSSIE POOL RENOVATORS. we are happy to help
Good Afternoon Bill can you advise where I can purchase a pool step repair kit with a instructional DVD....I see that you have mentioned this solution on another site. Thanks in advance!!
Fiberglass is the worst thing that you can use in a swimming pool . The fiberglass dose not stick to cement . Chlorine eats the resin then you are swimming in fiberglass . And when that glass cracks it will cut you up its very sharp .
Mike Martinez Ridiculous.....just purchase a fiberglass pool to start with...nothing is coming off and you will not be swimming in anything but water. Fiberglass pools take MUCH less chemicals and maintenance is much easier.
Do you have any proof of this? The gelcote and top cote usually last 15 years then you just drain the pool and put on more gelcote and topcote. Takes one day.
This method of fiberglass pool resurfacing does work well, plus it eliminates the need to remove all the old gel coat. In the UGlassIt DIY system all the old gel coat must be removed, but no fiberglass is installed on the entire pool. Fiberglass is used only to repair the large crack in the bottom. Both ways work quite well.
The lowest currently known Mortier serial number is 88, which you can see in one of my videos (watch?v=Y62nTNLK3xM). They weren't numbered entirely chronologically, the number can also reflect which series the organ was from. For example, the orchestrions generally had very low serial numbers.
Does the serial number of this organ mean it was the 1000th organ that Mortier built??? What was their earliest serial number, and when was their first organ built? I know of at least one Mortier organ which was supposedly built in the 1880s and originally cylinder-operated, but this claim seems ridiculous, unless that is an older organ of another make which Mortier converted into a dance organ. I'm sorry for such an obvious question, but I am an American who loves Mortier dance organs!
These organs are great! Too bad more of them haven't been preserved. Trying to locate the one that used to be at San Sylmar CA, Hurst castle. Maybe they still have it but don't let anyone know.that. I have seen several different ones live and playing in various music museums bout 30 yrs ago.. Bellam's in FL is, sadly, closed. Where did their collection go?
