Its Chord, its overpriced and cheaply produced. They're a joke of a company like pretty much ALL audio companies that have mastered the art of MAXIMUM return through marketing nothing more. I'll be setting up a music server today to have my own high quality 'spotify', I have WiiM Mini going into a Cary Cinema 11 which was 3000 squids I nabbed it for 80, into Quad 606 into Quad ESL57
Buy used too save some cash, but not Chord, I don't care how good it 'sounds', its more likely your speakers being correctly driven by your amplifier. In order of importance Room Treatment Speaker Source Amplifier DAC
Hi.mate that is a matter of opinion The mojo is excellent for people on a tight budget.mine cost £103 Used and it's a very good dac Once modified its excellent 👌 Bit of kit sounds very musical With a beefy power supply
I am glad to see it is not just me combining the Wiim Pro + Mojo and loving the sound (with my bookshelf Dali Opticon 2) @Jonas on the output of the mojo, are you using a 3.5 to RCA converter? If so, which one is it?
@@jonasDoguedeBordeaux Thanks mate. Purple on the balls here as well :). Just ordered 3.5-to-rca from qed so I can use my rca cables. Keep enjoying great music!
These well known Jamo Concert series D830, as well as the C803 that followed few years later were the last of the true-to-name Jamos in every sense. The Concert 803 was produced at the transition time during Jamo's takeover by Klipsch, just before they downgraded the brand to the Walmart department store quality. The Concert 10X (C103 etc) tried to remain relevant as a direct descendant from the C80X series, but they failed to reach that level, many a review and test has proven that. I also owned at one stage a large C103 bookshelves but sold them shortly afterwards as they could not match my C803s, which they tried to replicate. Currently still listening to Concert D830 in my main listening room and Concert C803 in our lounge. D830 comes with a special edition modified SEAS Excel mid/bass driver, unmatched ever after and features a sand filled front baffle, something you'd find in speakers that cost many times more. If you could lay your hands on one of those - go for it, you can thank me later. Also, have a look at Danny's (GR-Research) review video on C803 and what he says about them. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HqOiuL5lzNI.html
As someone who owns a pair of these famous D830 - I could not agree more. Tried to replace them over the years with a newer set but failed short every time. The only ones that auditioned better were 4x the price. So yeah, they are staying and not going anywhere. Built like a tank, they will be likely handed down to one of my sons.
This is the problem I have right now. I disposed of my cd collection over 6000 cds (all classical). Then I got a Marantz CD48 and started modifying. After a lot of work the results are sensation. I didn't believe HIFI could sound this good. Which means I need to improve my streaming to match or buy loads of cds again.
Hi Jonas. I have this player but the right channel keeps cutting out. I thought it was the lead but tried another and it does the same. I have to wiggle the lead slightly to get the sound to come back. I think it's the rca jack not making contact properly. Are the rca jacks replaceable?
I've just rescued one of these from the recycling centre, where it was placed in the electronics dumpster. It _seems_ to work (so far I've just hooked up one midi-system speaker). I'll test it properly soon.
@@jonasDoguedeBordeaux did you remove the film from the grills then spray both sides of it? I’ve just inherited 2 x prodigy series speakers, haven’t been able to test them yet, but am keen to know how much I can refurbish if need be! Thanks for your reply 🙂
Hi m8 it was a white R 320. You can see some examples for sale on Google ots a very good amplifier rich vocals deep bass, good imaging detailed smooth treble
Hi, i still have that exact qed digit reference and i have a few opamp (like the lm4562) in my drawer. I don't understand how you SPLIT the power or where you solder to achieve that. Would just doing the opamp be worth it. Been like 30 years i have the unit...and have got a Gustard x16 brother with symetric power supplies but still using the Qed for second room... What do you think?
Hi all you have to do is change opamp the qed reference dac is the same as this dac in rhe video Except for the extra voltage reg powering tge dac chip
Hi, mate. I have used them To be honest, they are ok nout to shout about I had a musical fidelity X 10 modified it was nice Yet using a quality pre amplifer Like the vtl I used to own, that was really good
Maybe change the misleading video title? There’s no such device as a mini pro - there’s the WiiM Mini, WiiM Pro, WiiM Pro Plus and WiiM Amp, and soon the WiiM Ultra. Off to find an actual strip down of the WiiM Mini :)
I need some help, I have a Naim CD player, and it's putting out a distorted sound Naim are saying it could be the 1541 s crown chip to me, it could be the output stage from CD player, I have checked all other inputs on preamp still the same, any advice please, nothing wrong with anything else could it be caps, I need to speak to you, I am on the other side of the water. The player has been fine, worked the night before.
Hi. I recently discovered my pro-ject phonobox ii's power caps have started failing, resulting in an almost unlistenable hum. i already bought replacement caps, now i'm just waiting for them to be delivered. Since i had a look around, i saw some ICs in there and even a modkit from a random website for the first phono box. I was wondering if you could help me in determining if i could switch out the chips for a meaningful improvement in sound. currently I have inside two TL071CN chips and two 2068D JRC chips. I read that the JRC chip is already a very good opa amp, but the TL071CN could be upgraded. I read that the TLE2071 would be a good replacement, but i found a lot of random chips on aliexpress and ebay. Issue is they differ even in size, one is throughole, while others can be surface mount. Would i even be able to replace them on the board. Any help would be fantastic!
Try bi-wiring before doing anything. I find bass really strong and extremely well controlled, if fed by an amp that can deliver the power. A great speaker for peanuts kind of money
