Always... check your surroundings!"
Just got deferred yesterday at the infamous psych stage. The shock and disappointment. The worst about a psych 2 year deferral is that you just don’t know what to do. What to work on. This really sucks
definitely sucks my friend. Sorry for the bad news. It’s a tough stage for sure. My advice to folks at this point… Keep growing as a person in education, life experience, volunteer, give back, fitness, and so on. Come back at it and slay it next time!
Great question. I think one day provinces / regions will go with their own - or try to - but it’ll be interesting for very remote locations. If it happens, not likely with in my time.
Hey man, did they remove the polygraph from the application stage?? I don’t see it on their website. I have to write the APCAT with grande prairie but the rcmp told me they’ll fast track me because I have multiple trade tickets. Have you heard anything about this?
The polygraph (PEP) stage is a case by case situation. As far as fast tracking you based on trade tickets..? I’ve never heard of this. Good luck with it all.
@@RealCopsReelLife No APCAT for me. They told me I don’t necessarily need to write it because of my education in the trades I guess. They consider me competent. Just as baffled as you. However, Grande Prairie requires me to write one.
I'm 17 and I plan to go to the Atlantic Police Academy and join Charlottetown City Police, but I'm not sure if I do City of RCMP, because I want to stay on PEI.
If your goal is to stay on PEI, you might consider an agency there. We certainly place members there, and with the RCMP it’s more of a”when” not “if”. That being said, PEI is a small division and is challenging to get posted there. Timing is everything
Hey I’m 17 and I just had a quick question about the RCMP. I’m totally interested to join and get into the ERT (the SWAT) I’ve always wanted to join. What is the process of recruitment in that area? I know you need 2 years of minimum experience until you can apply for it. Any information would be amazing. Thank you.
Hey, Basically after your two year probation (as most Agencies) you can get on an intro course. If successful, you’d go to Ottawa for another course (5 weeks) and if successful, and the team gives the green light… you’re in. Fitness, Teamwork, and a solid understanding of general duty police work are all very important
Great video, As someone who has been in provincial law enforcement for 12 years and is now looking to advance his career, RCMP was always out of the question because my family was my focus for a long time. My wife is a specialty nurse so finding a position for her elsewhere is difficult. The pre posting agreements are the reason I applied for the RCMP a couple weeks ago. But on the other side of things I definitely see how they could rub more seasoned members the wrong way. Especially in your case knowing how much time most people have to put in to get back to the east coast. Thanks for the awesome videos with lots of amazing information! Definitely earned my subscription
Hey @RealCopsReelLife. I did the first steps of the application, they all went well. Did the psych test, tought I did good. After that, I met the psychologist, tought I did great also. But a couple weeks after I've been told that I got defered for 2 yrs. I know they don't tell the reason of the deferral, but in this case what would you do? Should I talk to a psychologist? I've been playing hockey since I'm 4, went to University in Criminology. I'm trying to find what should I do to get better in that step of the process and be ready for my next application.. Thanks again Keep up the good work
Hey my friend, Thank you for reaching out. Sorry about the deferral… always sucks. That stage is an interesting one because we are not told the details of a file at that stage. My advice is to keep growing, by teamwork/education (formal and otherwise)/good life experience, volunteer, fitness, etc. and come back at it once the deferral time is up. Good luck with it all….👊
Going into policing is my dream, the only thing holding me back is the hate I’d get by many for doing so, do you have any advice on how to push through that?
Hey, policing is certainly NOT an easy profession and can bring on the haters. That being said, it’s a noble career where I choose to focus on the good that I can do for others and carry myself to a high standard. The hate will come from many places… often places of jealousy, and from a place where others are unfulfilled with their own life. There are more for us than against us.
Why choosing RCMP? First They are Royal that means they represent the King Justice. They have the most famous Police Uniform in the World. They are as good as the FBI or really close. Ask the FBI they will tell you that they love working with them. Organize Crimes don't fear Police in Canada except RCMP. God Bless Majesty Charles III God Bless RCMP God Bless the Empire
@@RealCopsReelLife Thanks to you Brother, It's you and your sisters and brothers who put their life on the ground every day. I understand your sacrifice probably because I am an ex-military God Bless all polices officers.
Hey, I do have a couple of videos in my content feed with some information that might assist. The STAR technique is golden, read the prep guide given, and be honest about everything 👊
Hi Steve! A Montreal Dad here! My son is currently at Depot, in his 19th week. I have talked to him about your channel and he told me that he has been following you for a couple of years now. He also told me last night that he met you a couple of times at Depot and that you go there often. His name is Kevin Robillard, a young man from Montreal, bilingual. He just got his posting this week...he's not happy about it, but he will do what needs to be done. He will be posted to Fort ST-James, on a 4 year contract. He has ALWAYS wanted to be a police officer, since he was at least 3 years old. He's almost there. Thank you for all you have done and are still doing to help these young kids. It means a lot to a father missing his son. Also, CONGRATULATIONS on your new posting. Good things finally come to those who deserve them.
Thank you so much for this comment. Very meaningful! I know very well about the “not happy about posting” but… perspective goes a long way, and sometimes, what we don’t want is EXACTLY what we need. Thanks again for the encouragement 👊
Thanks farmer. My brothers best friend died of brain cancer when he was 11. My grandmother died of cancer when i was 12. My aunt got cancer when i was 13. My best friend got cancer when i was 18. Thanks for spreading the poison and growing your GMOs. It shows how much you hate mother earth and all its children.
It must be one of the best feeling to have your dad's farm where you grow up and than work there with your young children until they take over when the time comes. Farmers play such a big role, I thank you for your service and sacrifices.
I don’t want to assume… but the fact that you use these, does that mean these are approved to use with RCMP? Or does it vary from det to det or Div to Div?
So I mentioned in this video, that I do not currently use these. I use the issued carriers. It’s best to get the directive from the division / commander as to what kit is acceptable
Maybe you said it and i missed it, but an extra pillow is a must! Don't use the one they provide you... Iron it well and put it away, bring it out every morning for display on your bed while you're away from your pit
I personally thank you for this video and your insight..knowing I am too far gone in years to be in your "Boots", you get it!...Serve your fellow citizens. Thanx for promoting being a real Canadian. God Love Ya! Wish you all the best and hope this comment finds you well.
I work in security and am thinking to get one, which would you recommend? Thinking Denali as it has the more squared front look... Is molle easier to use than the laser cut molle?
I just failed the online assessment for the RCMP so I’m giving up on joining but your videos are extremely well done and had me super motivated to go for it. Thanks for what you do
Hello, If I am from Ontario Ottawa. Can I request to be posted in Ontario ? Or is there no contract policing in Ontario and only federal police? Also when you say I’ll know my posting during the process , do you mean during the application process before going to depot ? Thank you
Hey Ottawa! You can certainly request to be posted back to Ottawa… however, at this time, Ontario is “closed” for new recruits coming out of Depot. Unless…. You bring a particular skill set that is needed at the time they’ll lend to a specialized unit. (Financial, IT, Etc.) You’ll know which division during you application process (most applicants)
@@RealCopsReelLife hello , I do have 9 years of accounting and finance skills which can be used in financial crime unit , I hope they will bring me back once I submit my application
Fantastic. Also, because of our schedule, many members have side hustles. So if you become a Mountie, I certainly wouldn’t halt my artistry :) Good luck with it all 👊
As a new cadet, the second you step inside your dorm, you need to run to the storage room and claim your space. The space is limited and you need that for your luggage.
Vest is great… after they replaced it. It started to fray at the bottom, so I contacted pre labs. They totally took care of me, and sent me a new one which they have bolstered the fabric to be heavy duty. I expect it to last a long time.
My father spent 20+ years military and then civilian RCMP member after retirement. I spent 20+ years military and retired having trained a bit with local and RCMP. That said, I have absolutely NO confidence in the RCMP and never will again until there is accountability.
