This is a good question and it is not easy to answer. There are a lot of variables that can affect ones decision to choose an all time favourite. Weather, mood, occasion etc... If we are talking about the pdm fragrance I use the most in any given situation, which pdm one never gets tired of then, I would have to say PDM Layton 78%vol. Even though Layton Exclusif is a superior fragrance, imo, I like the way one can grab and go Layton anytime anywhere. 🙏
@@AlpineMontane ok then which fragrance do you have the most backups of or have repeat bought. Mine is acqua di parma essenza. I have 3 bottles open and on the go
Look, if you want to try a special one that is vial and hard to wear, try marlou ambilux. It smells like fur and every body liquid from every oriphous of the body. Smells like someone that fucked on a fur rug, or a cat that got sprayed with sex juice, or something.
lol sadly Im not related.I had to google Andrew Huberman lol. Thank you for mentioning him as he looks like an interesting, inspiration person. Im relating to your first experience with Oud wood as it is similar to ones own 🙏
Naxos is just the right amount of sweet it is so finely balanced that it never gets cloying, even in high heat. This is the same with the Tobacco. It is a constant though not as strong as other tobacco heavy fragrances. Again this is very finely balanced none of the notes feel in competition with each other. They mix well and complement each other. 🙏
Cheers buddy.. Enjoyed watching... Haeckles is definitely a house you should look into... They are quite economical minded and use all natural ingredients... So alot of the time you go on the website they can be out of stock... As they only produce frags at certain times of the year when the ingredients are in harvest.... Keep up the good work pal 👍🏼
Thank you Mikey. Yes both of these were remarkable fragrances. I did check Heackles online though you are right, many of them were unavailable. A little update on Dior Homme video. I really appreciate you sending the sample. The challenge with this is that it is such a great fragrance it feels like it deserves a full opening video. A decision has been made to purchase a full bottle as it was always going to in the collection eventually. The full bottle opening will be up as soon as it is done. 🙏
That's awesome to hear pal... Just one thing.. This is the 2005 silver stem bottle that is long time discontinued.. And they go for silly money on ebay.... But you may still able to get the black stem version from 2011 reformulation.... Even though that is discontinued aswell... They pop up on ebay more often..
My last wear of 5 sprays lasted around 8-9 hrs until it turned to a skin scent. Though could still smell faint riffs of this in my beard in the morning. 👍
Yes, the cat is usually behind the camera, telling me what to do. Ill be sure to let (him) know that you have missed her Miguel and pass on your love 🤣😆🤣
I have tried an attar/oil based of journey man. I have to say I loved it and had me looking for the original Amouage Journey man. I did not buy it, though It will be bought if found at the right price as it smelled amazing 👍
@AlpineMontane would love to know your thoughts on comparisons between this and thameen carved oud as there meant to be very similar scents. Both amazing perfumes but would make a great video. 👍
@@adilahmed2312 The difficulty with this is that I still do not know if my carved oud is legitimate. It would be hard to do a fair review because of this. There are several fragrances that share this type of profile. Carved Oud, Perfect Oud, Oud Noir, Shagya etc... they are all pretty good in their own right. I have to say for me since discovering TF OW I seem to find this one the most appealing for my taste. I love it 🙏
I had the Haeckels discovery set I liked them all and the stories behind how they make them. Wish they had normal names so I can find them instead of the pretentious co ordinates.
Thank you. I have to say I really do not know. It smells really high end quality and It is usually easy do identify a dupe. However, the packaging has been pointed out as not the same as authentic 50ml versions. 👍
@@Brandon_W38 lol, my thinking is Whittaker. He's had more 5 rounders and unless Khamzat does something special in round 1 or 2 we will see Whittakers's iq and experience play out. Though it is ufc and anything can happen. Great choice on the scent of the day. Went for a pdm myself today 'Darley' classic 👍
Hi pal.. I know you like your rose fragrances... Have you tried out Tom Ford Noir de Noir... It's really lovely.. One of my favourite from the private blend..
@@milanlata1073 Enclave uses a spearmint note. This comes over as stronger and freasher than ordinary mint. It would not be wise of me to suggest getting any fragrances due to smell being subjective. What works for me may not work for you. I just took a chance on blind buying this as it was at such a very reasonable price, I could take the hit if it did not work out. There is always this risk with a blind buy though they can be found at a reasonable price online.
@@milanlata1073 The mint is very much in the opening. After that it is noticeable throughout the wear though the other notes come into play in a much more balanced way.
Watched this video on its entirety, so i reckon this is a "first impression & review" video? so my question would be this; Out the box, how long does your Black to Black last? i don't know if you remember but I've also commented on your video about Montale Black Aoud, but then i saw some reviews that says Black to Black is basically the more refined, more developed version of Black Aoud. Plus you can get more juice for the money, better presentation, and that wonderful atomizer. ✨️
Thanks for watching the video. You are right most of my vids are first impressions. In regards to B 2 B i was surprised that it did not last as long as I was anticipating. I got about 5-6hrs longevity and then is all but vanished off my skin. Both B 2 B and Black Oud are creations of Pierre Montale. Black Oud does preform better than B 2 B though feels a little rougher around the edges. I believe the older formulation of B 2 B has better longevity. Though for the price and the amount (120ml) it is worth using a small decant to take out for the day and to top it up. 👍
Hi , hope you well , I'm thinking about buying tobacco fragrance and was thinking Xerjoff naxos . Do you think it's a good choice ? Also is naxos overly sweet ?
Hello, thank you for watching. Naxos is a great choice, another would be Herod by pdm. However, these are just a few tobacco fragrances to my liking. It may not mean you would like them so it may be worth getting a sample first. I sampled Herod and did not really appreciate it at first. It is now one of my goto Autumn fragrances. Naxos Is sweet yet it is skilfully fine tuned so does not get cloying or sickly/sweet. There is also the debate about the new reformulations being weaker. I get 12+ hrs longevity out of Naxos and can still smell it in the morning and it stays on clothes a long while. Let me know which Tobacco you end up purchasing and what you think about it. All the best 👍
As someone who has a number of real oud scents this has a touch of clean yet animalic oud or oud like aromachemicals. Its indistinguishable between the woody aroma here and real true oud once you get the dry down you'll get the oud more than the rose
Ive only tested Toy Boy on the tester strip some time ago. From my recollection Toy Boy was much sweeter and less rose. I did like toy boy though other fragrances got in the way of me purchasing it.
i wouldn't call this too similar to silver oud personally -- king blue may still have an oud assam accord, but the woody base is much more based in conventional mass-appeal amberwoods. Think PDM Layton Exclusif or things similarly in that vein. The main woody molecule in the base of this is Sylvamber, a deeper interpretation of Iso E Super: you'll get a lot of cedary and ambery notes. There's also a big dose of ethyl maltol, which is a sugary ingredient that gives fragrances like baccarat rouge 540 its cotton candy punch. This has MORE. so although there is an oud note, i find more of the beast mode longevity through these heavy hitter mass appealing sweet, ambery molecules. Funnily enough, the intense fruitiness for me makes the oud a bit more pungent right in the beginning, but it backs off a ton. on the flip side, silver oud's woody side is more based around birch accords and ambrarome, which is a cistus labdanum derived molecule that actually includes skatole -- something that is literally found in feces! but is meant to add to the leathery facet. The sweetness in silver oud comes more from the chocolatey facets of the patchouli paired with vanilla as opposed to the candylike fruitiness of the ethyl maltol and fruit notes in king blue. and the woodyness is completely different in my opinion. I enjoy both, but i largely prefer silver oud. I find King Blue tries to bring a skanky oud accord into that more pleasant and designer-esque DNA of fruity woody amber profiles, and it shows in the sillage, the oud itself is almost masked by those huge performing molecules...so i personally think it isn't as worth compared to the unapologetic nature of silver oud. King Blue tries to play nice but also tries to be a final boss of those trendy beastmode frags. Honestly to me a more apt ''sweet" cousin of silver oud are the interludes...not this LOL i found reports of these molecules through GCMS analyses from friends online
wow, thank you, man. Much appreciated. This is such a great analysis and descriptive breakdown. It is an interesting journey into the world of fragrances and there is always so much more to learn. There is much to agree with in what you write. Often my mind changes after the first experience and initial wears, though time limitations prevent me from doing follow-up vids. Thanks for watching and the info 🙏
I have got this for £65 and I can not tell a part. I also have Tomford oud wood. They smell the same and this is surprisingly cheap. In my opinion if anyone live near the store which they can taste it out would be to remove the cap of the atomiser and see if it’s white plastic or gold. That way you can tell this apart. I checked everything is the box and looks very legit to me.
If you want cheap and good look at what’s still being produced since the 80s namely QUORUM and MANDATE still so good and almost same as when first made. I’ve got time for niche like amouage but not the wallet and the oldies make me feel fantastic. Bored of the bubblegum tonka stuff constantly pushed at the shops
Icon is a razor sharp masculine fragrance that expects a similar style from wearer... sharp hair, ironed clothes and all. I can pull off with tshirts but it doesn't accept wrinkles and mess. It smells like shaving balm of an quality fougere perfumes of yester decades. This isn't subtle, silent and gentle clean smell, this is a sharp and biter clean and definitly stay away if doesn't sound pleasent to you. By the way if you can find, definity buy the icon balm, which can eliminate the need of buying the perfume. Doesn't smell like deodorant, it is not simple or an easy fragrance. Even if you are not a "distinguesed gentlemen", it is a nice addition to collection when you wear suitable, because even niche perfumes nowadays doesn't smell as quality as this one.
I have a sample and put it aside on the first try. It was the second try that woke up my nose and I decided it was a buy. I'm glad to have it in my rotation.
