Since 2018, I have helped 100s of small businesses in incorporating AI into their workflows.
The glaring gap made me realize that AI is poorly understood and improperly implemented.
To prove that the right AI implementation is the greatest strategic advantage of our time, I launched Ertiqah -- an AI-first business that I'm building in public.
I share my learnings in my weekly newsletter & this RU-vid channel:
Loved the video, really helpful in terms of understanding how exactly to prompt AI to get the job done. What's the Speech to Text extension you use with Claude?
Really happy to hear that 🙌 And the extension used is this one: chromewebstore.google.com/detail/audioai-voice-to-text-for/phdhgapeklfogkncjpcpfmhphbggmdpe
Can you drop me a message on LinkedIn? I'll see if I can connect you with one of the people I know who is working there - or has worked there in the past. For prompt writing, try to practice a few scenarios and learn about prompting frameworks. You could.. potentially look at some of the first few editions of my newsletter - I talked about those frameworks with examples there. Hope it helps. newsletter.ertiqah.com/
I didn't get the chance to go through their interview process honestly, so can't say anything specific. But I would recommend searching for people who have landed the same role at Turing in the past - and try asking them what sort of questions to expect, the difficulty level, etc.
This is how this helped me; 7 days ago: DevOps engineer. Now: Doing everything in our repos that's not my job. Your Linkedin's cheap hires post really 'optimized' my workload!
Absolutely - but a single prompt likely won't be enough for that. Btw, have a look at Composer in Cursor AI (IDE) - that can really speed things up if you just provide sufficient details about the sort of application you're looking to build.
Here's the prompt: <role> Act like an experienced full-stack web developer. You have over 15 years of experience in building web applications using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. You specialize in creating responsive and user-friendly interfaces. </role> <objective> You need to create a responsive web application called "Budget Tracker". The application will help users track their income and expenses efficiently. It must be built using only JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. </objective> <instructions> Create a Responsive User Interface: Design a clean and user-friendly interface. Ensure the layout is responsive, rendering well on a variety of devices and window or screen sizes. Implement Income Input Functionality: Allow users to input their income. Provide options to categorize their income into different categories like salary, freelance work, etc. Implement Expense Input Functionality: Allow users to input their expenses. Provide options to categorize their expenses into different categories like rent, groceries, entertainment, etc. Display Financial Overview: Display the total income, total expenses, and the balance (income - expenses). Data Storage: Store data in the browser's local storage. Ensure the data persists even when the user refreshes the page. Data Visualization: Implement a feature to visualize income and expenses using a pie chart or bar graph. </instructions> <Code Requirements> Provide HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code for the entire application. Include comments in the code to explain each part, helping in understanding and explaining the code to others. Example Code Structure: HTML: Create the structure for input forms, display sections, and placeholders for charts. Use semantic HTML elements for better accessibility. CSS: Style the application to ensure a clean and modern look. Use media queries to handle different screen sizes for a responsive design. JavaScript: Write functions to handle user inputs, calculations, and data storage in local storage. Implement chart rendering using a suitable library like Chart.js. </Code Requirements>
Hi, Love the information, Thanks alot!, could you please guide me as to whether freshers or undergraduate students will be able to land these jobs for web/software development such as crossover etc.?, as i can see you have experience on them, could you guide me further?
Glad you liked it Saad. To the best of my knowledge, students cannot (for majority of these platforms), but fresh graduates can. For Crossover in particularly, they run a "graduate engineer" hiring campaign every year for fresh grads. But even for fresh graduates, since the applicant pools are usually quite large (for jobs on all platforms), I'd say the ones that stand an actual chance are those that have done some freelancing/built a nice project portfolio during their studies to stand out.
Yes, absolutely. All of the platforms in that list support "work from anywhere" - so the location does not matter. You don't require a visa, or anything of that sort for this either.
No, you can sign up directly on their website - you can find the links in the description. For 90% of these platforms, you don't have to pay anything - for the ones that require you to pay a subscription fee like FlexJobs, I'd recommend to just avoid them as there are way too many free options available
@@_junaidkhalid many thanks for your advice. I will try to sign. I hope it is authentic. I was invited for a job but later I can understand there you have to deposit money and my money is stuck
Just a random thought, if a person is in a field where he is needed on ground and he is doing good there. Is it actually worth developing a new skillset in a field just because WFH/WFA can be possible there?
I personally would highly recommend that - that time investment is totally worth it since having that WFH/WFA option means you can decide to potentially spend more time with family and/or travel as you like in the near future. Plus, any job that can be done from home can also be done from the office, so you can always revert if you feel more comfortable that way. 10/10 - go for it!

Thanks for this valuable information. Can you share your knowledge regarding how to apply to these jobs for a better chance of getting selected? Resume tailoring, Cover Letters and Preparation for Interviews etc.
For sure - I'll try to get one out for EDA initially to start with the basics; GenAI is really great for that (and for advanced stuff but EDA is the best starting point) 👌
WFA is the future. what could be better than travelling around the world without having to worry about the depletion of your savings? I think we all know the answer - nothing!!
Out of curiosity, in your opinion, how does a WFA hiring help out a company? As compared to a remote job? And would that explain why most companies don't offer that (other than the obvious reason of the demand of the role itself)
That's a nice way of thinking 👏 The key benefit I've observed is that they're not restricted to a locality but rather have a much wider net for the applicants pool, so they can add "strict" requirements and get much more qualified leads in the job applications. Come to think of it, in most cases - companies that hire for WFA roles actually can't hire people as "employees" in most cases, and have to classify them as contractors even if it is not time-bound. From the company's perspective.. that's a major cost savings (they don't have to cover benefits, and other such stuff )
