Hope your first week of travel went well. I was just hired as an admissions counselor and will be traveling by myself for the first time in a few weeks. I honestly feel like I have no clue what I’m doing but hopefully things will start making sense once I’m on the road
Hello Maggie! I’ve been following your videos since 2020 and I love love your content from your Drexel days even till now. You’ve been of great inspiration to me and I feel so lucky coming across your channel 3 years ago..Good news is I have been accepted to Drexel, got a decision last night but unfortunately I have 40k deficit and really cannot afford it. I applied to Drexel because of their co-ops program and I feel more connected to their program ….Is it a good idea to write to the ADCOM or FINCOM to ask for additional financial aid even though I submitted my css profile before the deadline. Also I got accepted into the honors program as a nursing student and I can’t wait to be on campus coming fall…what do yo advise I do… is it possible to get full ride as an international student who got into the honors program?
I love videos like this! I'm not sure if you'll make a vid about this soon but I'm so curious to know the differences between working in admissions vs academic advising and why you made that change. Super excited for the rest of vlogmas!
I can relate to the chocolate. I have a jar of the good candy in my office and people come to my office for the candy and to socialize. It really does bring people together.
Thank you! Education requirements are really dependent on the institution that you are interested in. I personally do not have a Masters yet but I have 3 years of higher education experience as an admissions representative prior to this role.
I totally get you Maggie! You're in a new phase of your life and you're still adapting. I'm going through something like that right now as well. It's comforting to see other people relate. Excited for the rest of vlogmas!
Sometimes, taking a wrong turn or being in the wrong lane shows us a more scenic view, and can be a relaxing and much needed break. For you, it was the Tampa Bay!! Sweet.
The position really does sound like it would be very fulfilling for someone who enjoys helping young people map out their dreams and goals for their future, using your interpersonal communication and writing skills, and get in quite a bit of travelling too!! Every job has its stressful moments, but this one seems exciting to me!! 😊❤
Hey i am looking to get into Drexel for masters jn mechanical engineering. How’s the program there and if you can help me connect to any international friend or Indian friend of yours at Drexel, it would be great as I have got many concerns as a student coming from india
Hi Maggie! I’m a recent college grad who has been looking at admissions counselor jobs near Philadelphia! I noticed there’s an opening at Drexel. Do you have any advice for my upcoming job hunt?
Each university is different! My university covers my travel expenses (without reasonable travel budgets) so I can go meet with students in their home state.
Hello Melika! I do apologize, I am not familiar with the PhD programs provided at the university at all. I would recommend working with your graduate admissions representative.
We need a year two, please! I loved this video. I'm almost done with my education degree and I'm considering an admissions job after college. I love your channel!
How do you keep busy during the slow seasons of the year?? I’m steuggling to keep positive when we’re not hosting visits with students & only 2 applications are rolling in 😭
Hi Grace! We are not on a rolling application cycle so we are only reading applications for a certain part of the year. My "off season" is usually May through August but i keep busy with other passion projects like helping with social media, community based organization events, etc.
