Hi there! Good video. How cappable is Jeffsy compare to the Capra? For normal trail riding with some uphill and jumps, some flat trails pedaling too. What would u recomend?
I've enjoyed the Capra more than the Jeffsy. The Capra is much more comfortable when pointed downhill and not there's much between the two when the trail is flat/climbing.
Solid bike! I did just get a Capra as I’ve been doing most of my riding at bike parks in NC/TN/GA and wanted something a little more DH balanced. Still not selling the Jeffsy.
Oh man, I used to ride this place at least once a week when I was living in Florida. Looks like it’s changed a bit since eight years ago! Great video guys 🤘
Awesome video. How does it compare to the jeffsy?! I live in Florida and will be going to Brevard in June. I’m super excited. Hopefully, YT has a similar sale they just had because I would like to pick up a capra next year.
For a bike park situation the Capra is miles better. For Florida (I ride alafia quite a bit) it’s less noticeable. Both are super capable. The 25% off sale was what made me pick up a Capra!
@@JaredCarpenter21 thank you so much for the reply! That sale was crazy! Hopefully there will be another one next year lol. It’s like for the price of a core2, You can go up and get the core3! Keep up the great work always looking forward to your videos
Tough to say. I think if I had to do it all over again I’d go with an enduro bike. Great bike but it’s at its limit on at some bike parks. Really depends what type of riding you do.
@@BJJandBS it’s a great bike for the price, got components that you see on bikes that cost 5k. It will get you through pretty much anything and if your doing just trail riding it should be more than enough
Hey again I have one small question. When you got the bike did it come with a fiddle lock adapter or can I just screw on a bottle cage? And if it comes with a fidlock do I have to buy an adapter for regular bottle cage
Hello, I was wondering what size bike you chose and what your height is. Many people say the sizing chart is different from “the standard” so I just wanted to get your opinion on it. Thanks! Also any dislikes with the bike?
I went with a XXL as I was at the top of XL sizing and bottom of XXL and xxl was in stock at the time 😂. No real dislikes, cables are a bit long and that’s about it. Solid bike.
@@JaredCarpenter21 thanks, i am 5’8” but supposed to be 6-6”2 soon and was getting so many mixed answer about to get the large or extra large but it seems from your answer the sizing chart is pretty accurate.
@@nc33228 I have it set to high. Bike feels a little more lively and low speed and the type of riding I usually do in Florida appreciates the higher bottom bracket.
I just placed a preorder for the core 2 27.5, so you have any ideas on wait times? is the expected date shown on their website accurate? Great video I’ll drop a sub !
Appreciate the sub! My bike was in stock when I ordered and took about a week to get here once shipped. I have heard of YT getting bikes out to people earlier than expected.
@@JaredCarpenter21 you lucked out, shows about a 3 week wait now for xl,what are your thoughts on the stock dropper yt potman, and dropper lever? I’ve seen rumors about the lever being poorly made and shares the same design of some lower grade pnw hardware. ether way I look to upgrade a couple of things along the way such as carbon bars and bikeyoke triggy dropper lever and of corse pedals, for now! It’s great checking out all the videos
@@itr0863 it’ll go back to we’re it was after a good ride, mine keep stretching out when I drop it but I turn the cable to tension and my dropper goes up on its own, so it’s maxed out and still feels way to loose
Nice! and yeah man, the Jeffsy has been solid! I haven't found myself needing more bike yet. Zero issues too. Once I got the suspension dialed in and flipped the chip from low to high, the bike was perfect.
@@hambo76 I preferred the high better bottom bracket and less slack front end for the riding I do in Florida. Low would have probably been better for Kanuga.
@@lewisscruggspaintingco.pai1498 wow what a close save, what color way did you go with, if I had the funds I’d go yellow carbon frame but core 2 has very solid hardware, just sold my 2010 trek couple weeks back so having no bike for once really is a bummer haha
Yeah man, these trails were unlike anything I usually ride. Very well built! They flowed together really well, made me feel like I knew what I was doing haha
@@JaredCarpenter21 I thought it was North Port. I've only ridden on the trail near the aquatic center which was good fun. Otherwise unfamiliar with the area.
I've had no issues. Obviously it's not going to climb as well as a trail or xc bike but it pedals nicely. Decent at technical trail climbs and great on big fire road climbs. Solid all around bike, lives up to that "all mountain" category.
Awesome! How do you like the 27.5"? Just ordered mine today 😎 I decided against going with the 29" version as I'm 5'7" and wanted something a little more agile.
@@JaredCarpenter21 WHAT? Mountain biking in Florida? I never would have imagined! I'm originally from Pensacola but now live in Germany, actually about an hour south of where YT is located. Loved the scenery in your video, definitely made me miss home.
I feel ya on that trail.... You get best down all the way out for Ridgeline to finish you off. Then you pedal all the way back to the parking lot... lol
Nice riding. Alafia seems lots of fun. Planning to head out within the month to go ride for my first time. Have you ridden Virginia Key down in Miami? Or Markham in Sunrise?
Jared man! Great video! I love this trail system! The big gator at the end of Livelong is exciting to see! Also great place to ride at night! Next time you are in the area, please visit Hillsborough trail, and the PBR trail (over by the high school).
I haven't been over to the Hillsborough trails in a few months and it's been years since I've been over to the PBR trail. I'll have to get out there soon!
@@JaredCarpenter21 mike and Eric and a few others have been putting in a ton of work over at PBR. Definitely worth checking out. Hillsborough is super dry, sandy, and has lots of brown ice (brown leaves). I’m recovering from a recent surgery, but others have been helping to maintain, but it’s tough. We could use some rain! Also I’ve been working more on extensions and such rather than maintenance 🤷♂️.
This trial looks Awesome! I just ordered a Core 3 Jeffsy! Big up grade from my 2009 Specialized FSR. Can't wait for it to get here. They say its supposed to get here at the end of march beginning of April. Were they accurate with your estimated delivery?
Congrats on the upgrade! My bike was in stock when I ordered it and arrived on time, less than 1 week. I’ve heard of a few people getting their YT bikes ahead of schedule from their back ordered date.
Don’t skip out on setting up your suspension properly! Get that sag set! I’d also recommend checking the flip chip on the rear shock, high position was a winner for me. It came setup with low and I was pedal striking quite a bit.
@@JaredCarpenter21 I got an email notification 4 hrs ago for the jeffsy core 2 in both silver and black. I was lucky enough to randomly check my email 2 hrs after the notification and I was able to purchase one(silver like yours) even though the status said “ships latest may 16 2022”. Whatever that means. Oh well. I’m glad I was able to purchase one. The black one was already sold out when I checked! Super excited
@@ryanblacklock3005 right on! My frame is XXL, so I felt like a 29” on a xxl would be an absolute boat. The 10mm extra of suspension on a 27.5” doesn’t hurt either!
@@JaredCarpenter21 I just picked up a Diaz Suspension Runt Air Spring this week. Haven't been to the trails this week but it feels great around the neighborhood
@@SuperTacticalcom Had to look that’s up. Looks like a cool idea, you’ll have to let me know how it goes on the trail. Looks like a better alternative to volume spacers, which I need.
@@JaredCarpenter21 Yep me too. My problem is if I set the pressure to get the right amount of sag for my weight I never use all the travel and if I lower it it seems to sit to low in the stroke all of the time. This new thing should have some different tuning options but I'm sure I'll have to play with it for a while
