I remember hearing this song for the very first time they played it in the movie “ She’s Having a Baby” in 1988 starring Kevin Bacon when his wife was having an emergency C-Section. It is a beautiful song and was perfect for the movie.
It's a glorious & moving rendition. My soul attempts to climb out of my body. I cry every time I hear it & I need a piece as moving as this one. Thank you!
@jennie_abrahamson I'm so glad you performed this before the more recent song craze. Your beautiful creativity might have been squashed for something more elaborate due to the recent popularity. I am a fierce fan of Kate Bush and you are one of the few who have done her incredible talent justice. Thank you.
There are good singers, there are very good singers, there are the world's best and high above them all sits Kate. Even when sung by others all it does is remind me of her...she is finer than all the gold and diamonds in the world. This is very good because it is almost identical to Kate's version.
@johnt2831 It isn't her song clown. Jenny is doing a cover of Kate Bush. BTW, Kate's version is being used on multiple Netflix movies and TV shows. So, they all know whose song it is. Plus, she's probably making more money out of that, than what that poor sap Maxwell had to pay her in the beginning. Along with one of her other songs which had made a resurgence, she's raked up half of Maxwell's net worth. Just for two songs. Without lifting a finger.
@@WarrenBridges-um5cg Name calling how juvenile, but typical from someone like you who lacks the intellect to come with a proper reply like most people. Who knows, and this is what I am leaning towards. I think that you are a racist and can not handle the fact that I said that a Black man did it far better, and by the way, he did. Get over yourself and grow up.
Amazing cover! Thank you 😍 I hope this isn’t too forward but my name is Joshua and I’m actually a solo pianist and a mega Kate fan! I create piano instrumentals of many of her songs…. Here’s my version of Cloudbusting: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bvQiMl_JQF8.html “The Wedding List” ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YktA2h9BcMg.html “Houdini” ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-j_FPSvco7uY.html There’s a bunch more on there if you enjoy these. I’m not monetized, this is sincerely sharing fandom :) Once again, beautiful work.
@@WarrenBridges-um5cg Well, he made it more appealing her version is bland. I prefer his style of singing the song better than hers. But neither is bad. I just prefer a version that has a little more soul to it. I appreciate both of our perspectives though. 😊
@@Writ3r314 Kate is multi genre and changes her styles to suit each one. When she sings in Gaelic, French or German languages/accents, she sounds like a native and has a knack for adapting a style most suitable for the individual composition. Whether it be hard rock or a piano ballad. She wrote this song for a dramatic, difficult birth scene in a movie and sang it appropriately, pertaining to that scene. In the same scene, Maxwell's composure, smooth measured tones and R&B inflections would be totally unconvincing. When Kate sings a particular way on any given song, there's always a good reason......and here, Jennie is the closest thing to Kate.
I appreciate this version but not every one of the variations. I do like their own take of the crescendo which is always a highlight for me of the combined creative genius of John, Paul and George Martin. PS I also noticed how the two of the singers here did the "dragged a comb across my head", I think it was done with an intentional sense of humour? Great job overall, thank you!
The hairs in the back of my neck didn’t stand up at the opening of this song. Every hair on my entire body did. Amazing performance. Brought tears too.
