I am test-driving an X1 today (FEB 2023), and googled review and found your video. Thank you for the useful insights. Do you feel different after more milage on the car, when did you sell the car? Another question is the four-wheel drive. Is it all the time active? Do you feel better handling?

My 2013 x1 timing chain snap at 82000km after service without any warning. Also the idrive CIC failed. It was a broken pin within the chain, all valve gone.

Some have navigation and some don't. It depends on the specs the customer ordered when it was new. Navigation was not standard. Maybe in some countries it was standard, but not in Norway.

Thank you! I haven't experienced any problems with my car over the years. Don't know about any common issues. If the car is well maintained it's probably a safe buy. Please remember to check the service history before buying :)
Yes, it's probably too early too attract investors at this point. I probably have to develop the concept quite a bit further and clear away any legal hurdles and develop a working prototype. Thanks for watching and the feedback though! :)

Thanks Andrew. I'm pretty sure a 2012 xDrive 28i is a good choice. I'm enjoying my X1 in the winter here in Norway now. The road grip and handling is superb I think. Recently I even made it up a very steep and slippery road where an old Land Rover Freelander had to give up. I could just relax and the X1 didn't make any signs of having problems.
Niiice. I am glad to hear you were able to outperform such reputable off-roader. I live outside of the city, so there is snow everywhere. Last wednesday I was stuck in the snow twice in my 2011 elantra. It was quite frustration and embarrassing to say the least. As a result, I put it up for sale, and I am actively looking for a fully loaded X1. I test drove a few of them today and I was automatically blown away. The X1 is quicker and more agile than the 2004 BMW 530i I owned in the past. I look forward to this purchase. Thanks.
You're welcome. Just make sure the tires look and feel ok when you buy it. The Freelander I saw probably had worn out tires I think. I replaced my tires with new Pirelli Ice Zero last year, and they are super grippy.
You're welcome! I haven't tried that seat myself, but I've had three adult passengers in the backseat on short trips. They havn't complained so I believe the seat is okay but not the best for an adult on longer trips.
