This is the sound that John Squire wanted to achieve with Second Coming, heavy funky groovy rock n roll, Noel Gallagher also tried to introduce some more groovey wig outs to Oasis post Be Here Now - no one does it like The Verve though. It came naturally to them. Superb band.
Its a fucking travesty that Oasis are considered better than The Verve in the media , much as I like Oasis , Liam and Noel solo The Verve and Ashcroft solo are just different gravy
A masterpiece as always. I've been listening to The Verve and Richards music for over a decade now. His music makes me happy even during hard times in my life. From a USA fan. :)
Beautiful song. I saw him perform in San Francisco a few years ago. He was incredible, very emotional (acoustic) performance. I felt a sense of sadness when he sang, I couldn’t hold back the tears.
So I'm in the ozark mountains and forest with the spirits down in hell with Kati, I won't ever let her go. It has been very painful dealing with these evil spirits trying to get the angels out of hell. I have fought and struggled to stay alive and maintain myself, while trying to kill these things. It is good with the angels to be here with them, but we will be glad to get these evil spirits out of here. I have added alot of spirits to us, we've multiplied, but we've lived under alot of flak. I've held on to her while suffering and struggling like this. We have alot of things to worry about in the world while we wait. We have to wait, we don't have a choice. I can't do much until my spirits are out there, then we can take over the humans and world and get things under control. I outnumber the humans 10 to 1. Over 100 billion spirits, to take control of the earth and force the changes we want. Just a few spirits can control a human and make them do whatever we want. We will help and protect the people and make a lot of very good changes in the world. The world is full of dangerous people we will deal with. We are prepared for that. We know what we need to do. This was the Verve’s last single before they broke up again for the third time. However, while Richard Ashcroft says it’s unlikely, never say never for another reunion. We’re still hoping for a reunion for the Verve’s good friends Oasis.
imagine having a song this good and not even being bothered to record and release it properly. This could have been a big hit. The Verve were such a brilliant but frustrating band. The B-sides to Forth are much better than the actual album too
They were mad not to release this it’s one of their greatest most mesmerising tracks - it’s better than a lot of tracks that got onto the albums they should have released it as a showcase single between albums or something they were completely mad to sideline it x
Since 1999 Mi banda favorita sigue encantandome su música los ví la semana pasada en vivo y son una carga de energía 👌 estoy feliz de haber invertido en su show
The greatest band of all time. The best tune starts from 2:36. Sir Nick is one of the best guitarists of all time. Everyone is in sync. Wish they could have been together.
