In 2012, Hein & Kim shared their 2010 Sprinter van conversion in a Sprinter Van Forum. On that blog, Hein began simply by sharing tips & suggestions with other fellow van builders. He quickly grew that passion for sharing his knowledge. He started by sourcing Thinsulate to other van builders wanting high quality insulation, then manufacturing products to make DIY van conversions easier. Hein and Kim, are now proud owners of DIYvan and are dedicated to helping DIY & professional up-fitters with their van projects. Most days you can find Kim ensuring customers get the correct products while Hein is on the phone sharing ‘how to’ advice. On the other days and as many afternoons as they can manage, you will find Hein & Kim in the van looking for their next adventure whether it be skiing on Mt. Hood, enjoying the wonder of the Oregon Coast or kitesurfing on the Columbia River.

Hi , could you do a video on how to actually fit a le mans vent. I bought one this week, the instructions look like bad photo copies, I looked at the animation on RU-vid on how to fit but again its not great, I have six little screws in the kit which I doubt will be long enough, I will be fitting it to a Snug top on a Toyota Hilux . Ordering this today thank you for bringing it to our attention. What is the best way to get any debris out of there before install??
@doityourselfvan
@doityourselfvan 2 месяца назад
Best way is to remove most of the screws holding the panels and then use leaf blower, compressed air and shop vac with smaller hose that you can run into space. Banging your fist agaist the panels can also work. Just depends on how much debris is in there and how thorough you want to be. First oil change will be another opportunity to clear debris.

Good stuff for the Promater here. How to you hold down the batteries in your tray so they don't bounce around and arc the terminals against the van floor?
@doityourselfvan
@doityourselfvan 4 месяца назад
We use a thick aluminum hold down bar secured with 3 long bolts through the bottom of the box. We have heaters under the batteries and fully insulate with minicell closed cell foam. The terminals are covered and then there is a 3/4" layer of minicell on top of the batteries. There are some photos showing the loaded box at our listing: diyvan.com/collections/batteries/products/under-vehicle-battery-box-for-promaster-van
