Norwaycation - Ferie i Norge
I don't understand the point of selling a hotel when the country itself is so magnificently beautiful. I realize you want to make money, but I'm not going to Norway for the hotel experience. You can get that anywhere.
Coming to Oslo in July thank you for showing us one of our contending hotels. I also like that you showed us some great places for dinner. The spa was amazing just like the room.
This so reminds me of my trip to Bergen in ‘76, it came just after the Dale owners gave each member of our filming team a 1976 USA Winter Olympics Sweater. I still have that, but it doesn’t/won’t fit without my adjusting my rather outsized dimensions. We overnighted in what I believe was a nurses’ dormitory up on the hillside inside the bowl that the hills of Bergen create. It was a most pleasant experience, along with a trip up and down the funicular. Just amazing view. My next visit will not be a stay, just a jump off from the Oslo-Bergen Tog and on to the Norled fast boat north to Balestrand and Vikoyri. Thanks for the inspiration!
Very good video about Voss. I’ve vacationed in Voss three times in the past. I’m from Wisconsin in the USA. I know there are many places and interesting things to do in Norway but Voss keeps calling me back. Thanks for the great video. It inspired me to start making plans for my return visit.
Beautifully captured! ❤ But I'd like to correct you a little.😉 We, the Viking Village, are open EVERY DAY in the winter from 10:30 - 14:00. (I'm guessing you were visiting in the first winter after the pandemic (2021), when we only opened for VIP bookings.) Another fun note is that we have avalanches MUCH bigger than that one all spring when the snow melts at the top of the mountains, -and rock slides in the summer & fall with heavy rain. Some of these avalanches occur so frequently and multiple times a day that they've actually been given names. The small one that you filmed in this video can go off every hour in March/April. -But don't worry! The terrain is built up along these to guide the snow and rocks into the fjord and away from the few houses and hotels we have in Gudvangen. It would take a MASSIVE avalanche to reach the Viking village. (But, never camp or walk along the mountains where you see loose rocks and little vegetation 😛) Let us know when you return and we'll do our best to accommodate you! 🏔⚔
Filmed around 20. Feb this year. Fretheim hotel is open, the Flåm Railway as well. Some of the shops, the bakery, the electric sightseeingboat to Nærøyfjorden is probably also open. Check Norway´s Best - the official site for Flåm for more info: www.norwaysbest.com
