Sorry Hal, buy your info is very wong about this shark in South Padre Tx. I live down here and am a surfer and folowed it closely. The bad attack was to the woman's leg. Took her calve clean off. There is a very graphic video on social media showing the whole thing while the shark is still swimming around in shallows. Her husband was bitten mildly while trying to save her. Then there were 2 other less severe attacks reported. Reason had to do with extremely murky water and lots of bait up in shallows. Sharks had been seen feeding for days prior. 2 recent hurricane swells stirred up the water in area, mix all that with July 4th crowds and boom! Anyways, surprised your info was so off on this one. It happens!
Just for the stats, I’ve read the published news article and obituary of the attack from that time. So just to clarify. Zita’s friends were standing in 3 feet deep water; she was 10 to 12 feet further out where the water was deeper. They’d hired a motor launch for the day, and it was from there that her friend grabbed an oar to beat the shark to no avail. He then got in the boat to attempt to ram the shark. He said it was 14 foot long. Knowing the area a little, I would say it was almost certainly a bull shark. Upper Middle Harbour is a long way from the open ocean and a bull shark breeding ground. Given refraction, the shark was most likely 12 or 13 foot in length, a big female bull.
Heads up! When I click on All for Black Bell for what to see it gives me a bell with a cross thru it. I had to do it several times before it would turn it black Grrrrr!!! It switches back you can only hit personalized or unsubscribe!
Yeah, we have a great white that LOVES Canada! He hangs around Newfoundland and the Gulf of the St Lawrence all summer then goes back down to Florida for the winter. His name is Breton and he's 13 foot 3 inches, 1,437 lbs.
If you want crappie, get some shinners,or mister twister jigs. Set your bobber about 30 inches above the hook with a BB size split shot about 6 inches above the hook
Very quick. Sister has Med Spa in Keys. Did 3 treatments where they took my blood. Spun the juice out of it and put it in my head with hundreds of shots each time. Greys went down considerably and it grows fast
Hi Hal I watch you for a long time. I have one question for you I know you go to the Keys alot. I do to. When I was in the Keys this year the Day was July 29-Aug 2 of 2024 for my son's 18th Birthday. A gentleman was attacked by a Bull shark in Marathon at a beach near by he was lobstering and I guess he was attacked by a shark and the police officer or rescuers couldn't get the victim. Did you every hear about that? Just curious.
i’m a midwest american landlubber who has never swum in the ocean but has thought about how amazing it would be to be able to swim in the ocean in places like fiji or bora bora or some incredible beautiful place like that but i also know that in all likelihood if i were actually in the water at one of those places i would just be nonstop looking for and thinking about sharks in the water. how other people can do it without a care is just beyond my comprehension. good for them though i guess.
Finally someone else saying most attacks are predatory or teritorial. Unprovoked attacks. Having been near these animals in the wild, yes...they are predatory towards humans and pets. I get why conservationists don't want to daemonize the animals, and neither do I, but they are hunting machines, and at large size, easily can see humans in the same prey item category as seals. Not accidental when they just TAKE people under and out. That classic dorsal above water line strike move or a rush up from under movement. I respect the sea as only a born-again pagan can...And sharks are no small part of that. All that said, majestic, ancient things.
Victoria Ramus, Tapus(?) sullivan, Mr Sullivan had to fight off the shark to help his wife. I got this from "Tracking Sharks", so that's 3 out of the 4 in Texas in july.
@@SharksHappen there was a son in law taken under the water, then the attack on Victoria, then the attack on Mrs Sullivan, then wounds from fighting off the shark to save his wife for mr Sullivan. The first one wasn’t named but there was an interview with the father in law, saying the guy was taken under the water, came up and shouted shark a few tikes and everyone rushed to get him out.
Ok. So that would be the fending off shark and by what i can find 2 males snd the females grazed leg the 3 bitten. I think Lulu Bagnol that was attacked same day in Florida is being confused with Tx…
Another great show Hal. 🦈🦈🦈🦈🦈 Why would anyone surf an hour before dark or surf in the middle of a school of bait fish? That's like asking to get bit by a shark. I kinda doubt that all 4 people were bitten by the same shark. It could be they were bitten by sharks of the same species rather than bitten by the same individual shark. 19:50 Why do I hear like a police siren in the background?
I consider this species the most dangerous. Murky fresh water rivers and youll never even see them. Youll never know they were there without being pre educated.
I'm SO glad you started posting again...this summer after losing my fave aunt and uncle within a few months of each other, your channel really helped me think about something else. I really enjoy hearing all the stories of shark attacks. I shared your channel on my FB page. :) Thanks Hal!
This is what was on the south padre island attack ..the victim Tabatha Sullivent and the shark was identified as a bull shark and it bit her calf off. The family is from North Texas (Gunter) the husband did come to her rescue and was also bitten but not to the same severity as his wife ..
Ok. Saw nothing about any females other than the grazing. Starting to think the boy that went under wasnt attacked, they never said one way or the other.
