🔵 Your home for the most in-depth NCAA distance running content out there. 🏃➡️ Between news, podcasts, interviews and more, will not find any other platform able to offer the level of detail and reporting on collegiate track and cross country that The Stride Report does. 😎
Go out and get stories that people want to see. Ideas: what is the NC State cross lineup this fall going to look like? Who is the low stick? Nobody gives a shit about coach transfers. Where are the top 20-30 prep prospects committed? Etc. What you're talking about now at 4:30 is a snoozer.
Parker Valby is officially double qualified for the Olympic 5k and 10k. With St. Pierre dropping out of the 5k and the updated rankings for the 10k, she’s eligible to run both in Paris. I know you guys aren’t her biggest fans, but this is an incredible accomplishment that you basically just glossed over.
This was recorded on Sunday which we stated. At that point, St. Pierre had not dropped out of the 5k (at least not to our knowledge) and Valby was not on that team. Valby also didn't have the 10k standard and the world rankings were not updated at the time of recording. You are right: Valby likely deserved more shine. But to suggest that we "aren't her biggest fans" is simply untrue. We'd suggest you watch an episode from earlier this year which is literally titled, "The Transcendent Greatness of Parker Valby". Regardless, we appreciate you watching and keeping us honest.
@@thestridereport Regardless of whether or not you knew she was going to the Olympics, she ran two incredibly impressive races, and yet you hardly acknowledged her. A 14:51 PR while front running the 5k, and a national second place finish in the 10k. I know you put her in titles for clicks, but it does feel like you may not be her biggest fans if you chose not to cover these performances. This was a historically great trials performance from a collegiate distance runner, and it’s disappointing that one of the leading collegiate distance running podcasts barely acknowledged that it even happened. Thank you for the doing the podcast though in all sincerity, it’s a good listen.
Time to get back to work she was real damn close to making the top three and going to Paris but she gasped herself out by trying to be the leader of the pack far too soon
Hey she still will probably go in the 10k, since she got 2nd, and since Elle St. Pierre qualified in the 1500 (which she prefers over the 5k) and there is less recovery time in between than preferred, valby may end up running the 5k and 10k and go to Paris!
