this year I traded in my unit for a RAV4 when I traded it in it had 64,000 km not miles and I was doing an oil change every 3000 km which is probably 2000 miles or something like that and every time I did replace the filter. You probably don’t need to, but we don’t get access in Canada to the super high-quality filters that you guys have access in the United States at least not from your local store. I hope this answers your question and thank you for watching the video Ray
Did you check the rotation of the tire? Some are indicated on the side by the company. If so, i think you did it the wrong way! If you see no inscription, you are OK.
If the rim doesn’t wanna separate, you can re-inflate the inner tube and it’ll force it apart, but there is some danger to die. It could literally explode so you do need to be careful with the air pressure. Hopefully this helps thank you for taking the time to comment. It is much appreciated.
In Norway disabled people don't buy scooter self, the state buy for us. No maintenance expenditure for us, all service done by state, battery change, new tires and puncture repairing.. each disables can have two scooters, one for airplane and for winter for sonw. Are we healty guys
I have an older original Pride Go Go Elite Traveler. Has been durable, only had to have the brake unit replaced many years ago. Some parts are becoming discontinued from online sources. Some used parts are available from Ebay. I am leery of buying "off brand" mobility scooters. Pride, Buzz Around and Drive brands have been around for some time and have generally good reputations and user support. I would not recommend buying any mobility scooter that needs repair, unless you have mechanical and electrical skills and ability to source parts and information. Professional scooter repair, if available in your area, is not cheap. Batteries are like car batteries, but are sealed. They go dead when not kept properly charged, when run down to dead, when stored in a hot car or garage during the summer, when left on charge continuously. When properly cared for batteries have 2-4 years of useful service. It is not rocket science to open a battery box up and change out the batteries, unsticking the old batteries from velcro requires some strength. You'll need a long phillips screwdriver and some common hand tools. Make sure that the measurements of new batteries in the online ads are exactly the same as the old ones you are replacing before you order them. Smaller scooter replacement batteries, like 12 -22 amp hour, cost from $60 to $120 per pair from Amazon, Home Depot and Walmart.( Two 12 volt SLA batteries are connected in series for 24 volts)
Shop techs are somehow convinced that an oil filter needs 1000 lbs of torque. Just to be sure. I just hand tighten. I don't have Popeye arms, but never, ever hand an oil filter leak or come off.
Easy to replace the battery, but when I picked it up to put it back together, the insides - all the little pieces and mat fell apart. After 2 hours with tweezers, strong light etc, I still don't have it back together. Taking it to the dealer and they better not try to charge me labor to fix something so cheaply made.
Hi Ray, I don't think you would still have the old board lying around because my board seems to have three surface mount capacitors burnt. I cannot tell what the values are if any on the board. My question is can you take a close up picture of the soldered side of the board? If you don't have the old board, maybe you can take apart the good one, and take a picture of it. Thank You in advance if you can. PAUL
Comment faire l'équilibrage de roue de scooter électrique pour personnes handicapées car je dois faire faire le mien car mes pneus s'usent trop vite pourriez vous me dire comment faire merci
There are a couple of ways, but honestly neither of them are good. They generally produce some type of damage. The first way I would try is using a wheel puller, which basically has three arms and a bolt going through the centre that will physically pull the wheel off of the arbour I have also used to sweat the part off Unfortunately, this generally causes a good amount of damage, because most of the time the wheels are aluminum, and the bearings are not designed to be heated One of my other videos I also cut the axle off and replace the axle which is unpleasant
I found the gas line to be too long and now kinks. I will be reusing the old stopper with new gas line threw it. The airfilter i had to trim to fit also.
I ha e a question for you. Have pretty much the same engine on a lincoln ranger 8 welder. I was cleaning the carburetor and dropped the float needle in the bottom half of the carburetor which goes into the block. How can I get it out?
Thank you so much for the nice comment and thank you for taking the time to comment. I really appreciate it. I recently replaced the back brakes completely I found a person who does parts supply on Facebook. I bought pads callipers and rotors for both sides of the back brakes and I had to go to Canadian tire and get brake fluid to bleed the brakes afterward. Total cost was about $465 and it took about three hours to complete , now the brakes are smooth as silk
Having checked out a few charge Trouble shooting vlogs before discovering this channel, yours was the most ‘to the point’ and useful. In my case dealing with a Kymco Agility, the 10amp Blade fuse had blown when with a Multimeter I was attempting to test the battery voltage output at the plug-in socket. Touch the wrong pins and within seconds, the circuit is inadvertently blown. So I wouldn’t recommend it unless you know exactly which pin is what. Without realising it I must have shorted the charging circuit that is protected by a blade fuse, resulting in no charge when the charger is plugged in. Surprising it wasn’t obvious to locate the fuse assembly and remove the fuse cover, however, once ‘sussed’ out, it was simply a question of checking each fuse in succession to identify the ‘offending’ fuse. For some reason Kymco make opening the fuse cover very difficult by fitting a retaining the cover with tight fitting clips and an obscure release process. It’s easy when you know how, but can cause damage to the wiring circuit if you’re heavy handed and is clearly designed to dissuade DIY repairs. In short this is simple ‘fix’ made difficult by an industry determined to promote costly dealer repairs.
i’m glad that you got it sorted out and I’m glad you found value in the video that is very rewarding to hear Thank you for commenting and thank you for taking the time to comment. It is much appreciated.
Did it get wet while you were driving? If the machine is under power, or basically, electricity flowing through the circuitboard, and the circuitboard gets wet, it is possible to create a short circuit and blow or destroyed part of that board Another thing that also happens is it gets damp over a long period of time and the wires for the capacitor rust and then after period of time they won’t work anymore If you’re driving and you go through a deep puddle and the scooter stops, the batteries are not under water Stop get off the unit, put it in neutral and pull it out of the puddle. Do not turn it on again until everything is 100% dry almost like putting a cell phone fell in water into rice to absorb all of the moisture out of the actual phone. Water is the enemy of electronics and everything on that unit is electrical. There isn’t a good quality made Scooter on the market. Some of them have splash covers and that’s about it I seen you at when you look underneath the electronics are 100% exposed. The unit is dry 100% turn the unit back on most likely it will still run. If it doesn’t run check the fuses and also check terminals for corrosion.
It could be unfortunately in Canada. We don’t have the large variety that you guys have in the US. And all honesty I could use an empty filter because I change the oil every 3000 km not miles that’s what 1500 I have 64,000 km on the unit right now and change the oil probably 20 times I’m currently trying to trade this in for a Toyota RAV4 but unfortunately there’s a year to two year waiting list
Thanks for the great video! By any chance do you have this 3D design file available to download? I'm running into the same problem with my level and would like to print my own replacement. Thanks for considering.
Unfortunately, I cannot find the 3-D file. I’ve had other people ask about it it’s easy enough to make Honestly, I’d have to take my apart to get dimensions. I currently don’t have time to do that.
we don’t have a harbour freight that I know of in Canada but they’re absolutely isn’t one of my area if we did I would shop there all the time The US has dozens of stores that me being a Canadian have never heard of, and when I go there, I am just amazed like Menards that store blew me away. There was so many great deals.
When I started planning on this Van build I how to deal to purchase a sprinter van at a very very low price and the deal kind of fell through so I ended up buying a Winnebago view, which has the front end of a sprinter and a Winnebago back There was never going to be a Motor I was going to use kinetic energy to raise and lower the bed in the form of the spring a garage door spring. I still might make this, but I need a place to install it. Ray
@@shopandmath oh I get you, thats brilliant! I wondered what kinetic meant, sorry if you said in the video :) can you speculate why people don't use motors? I think I may be naive thinking appropriate wire would cost a tenner gbp and the motor £20 as, say, an ebay windscreen wiper motor. I've thought on it for years and can't think where there might be flaws or hazards in the system; as steel stretches, the <£1 limit switches would keep the range within those parameters mechanically and all corners relative; easy adjustment with a screw tensioner and butt hinges for a 2/1 pulley with thin unistrut or extrusion and roller guides :o less head room but could sit below or raise for garage access, specific to individual and needs. The system would be modular too, could go manual til a motor upgrade down the line :o Van builds are so intimidating, but I hope you appreciate my asking around for advice so I could potentially learn or get a different angle on something from another's experience :) I have some wild ideas mind, I do wonder on the fruition:") I suppose you're not at liberty to disclose how/where to get them cheap but my step dad says the £500 immobile vans on ebay are the way to go, as they usually just need simple fixes like new lights or housigs etc. Any experiences you could advise please bud? I understand you probably gets tons of messages and questions though Thanks! :)
Thank you for the nice comment and thank you for taking the time to comment is much appreciated I will be coming out with more camping related content and repairs soon Ray
Without me, actually seeing the unit, it can’t be a little difficult to talk to you about it If you have long bolts and you need to remove the bolts and it’s just the stud sticking out, if you double nut the bolts, you can unscrew the stud but you have to be careful if these were Loctited in place, you may remove the threads and you don’t wanna do that Use extreme caution
Well done! But you can see why these parts are so expensive. To have a machine shop makes these units you'd be better off coughing up yr hard earned cash & just buy them!!
first off thank you for taking the time to comment. It is much appreciated. I have a super cost savings way of producing these bearings by simply using angle brackets and 3-D Printing the bearing itself From 1 kg of 3-D Printing material I could probably make at least 20 bearings out of cost of around $30 for the roll A flat piece of aluminum in two angles, and a couple of screws. If you don’t have a shop to do this, you could go to a place like the Steele store. (this is a local place close to me.) and they would cut the material to size for you for a small fee per cut. I’m guessing you could probably produce these bearings for around $20 each, I hope that this helps, and there’s nothing wrong with saving a couple of dollars here and there just as long as everything we do is safe Ray
Do you sell them ?I am saving for the Baja wrangler 2 I have a severe Neurological condition and live in rural virginia looking for a unit that can handle off-road terrain It would change my quality of life to be able to access most of my property
sorry, I don’t sell I just wanted to make some videos to help other people make decisions on buying I’ve bought multiple for my father and unfortunately my wife is in a situation where she may require one as well I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you for watching. Ray
Ray, excellent decision and as soon as I heard you say $500 (after seeing prices on 80-20)...I'm with you 100%. Question: (if you are still connected) have you considered a square tube L-bushing assem? My thoughts are for the extra strength. Do you sell bushings?
i’m kind of cheap and I like to use stuff that I have readily available or build something from scratch I don’t make stuff to sell this project build is on the back burner. I recently acquired a Winnebago view.
if everybody did that, or God forbid, they did it from the factory servicing. These units would not be a problem, but they do not want you to service these units. They want you to replace them. If we all lived in a place that didn’t snow or use salt most of these issues would not happen
ill tell ya what i bought a new 2023 pride pursuit 2 the front wheels come off but the back wheels wont ive beat the shit out of them with rubber mallet took center locking nut off n washer the rim has key way it slides on axle n key way but its like the jammed or beat it on i guess ill change tires like you did
out of curiosity, what type of environment do you drive this in? I’m from Canada and my father was driving it in the snow and salt that is horrible for the machines but he needs to get around that promoted rust and contributed to seasoning onto the axle What type of environment do you drive in?
@@shopandmath im in iowa so were pretty heavy on the salt in winter but hell this thing is less then a yr old the dealers here they get butt hurt n wont work on your stuff if ya dont buy it from them
