Hi Jasmine, I just subscribed. Im traveling to Escazu Costa Rica in December we will be staying at the Residence Inn by Marriot. How long is the ride to the beaches in Puerta Viejo?
So happy for you three. Thanks for sharing your update with us. Your videos helped us decide to move to Costa Rica. We have been here for about two years as well. Thanks for updating.
Gentrification. Living in Escazu where rich people live, the baby was born in the Hospital Cima, a Hospital for rich people, having a nanny, only rich people can afford that.
Purchasing a pre-existing home in an affluent neighborhood is not gentrification. Supporting the private healthcare sector and providing employment that pays a living wage, reduces the strain on an already overburdened public resources and contributes to the local economy.
@christopherdrown3817 Part of Gentrification is when rich white people come to a third world country and buy a house that most of the local population would never be able to afford. What you are doing is Gentrification. Also, bold of you to assume that private hospitals pay living wages to their employees.
@@Minicheeze The term "Third World country" is outdated and pejorative. Costa Rica is more accurately classified as a developing country with an emerging economy. Many people who work at private hospitals earn a living wage, often higher than what is offered in the public sector, depending on their role and experience. Regarding the living wage, I was referring to what we pay our son's nanny to help care for him so we can work. Speaking of work, 100% of our income is generated from outside Costa Rica, and the majority is invested into the local economy, including various taxes on income, property, luxury, IVA, and more. It’s “bold” to judge our intentions based on a video alone. I recommend looking up the definitions of "gentrification" and "xenophobia" while you’re at it. Perhaps it will give you clearer understanding.
The only real way to make Costa Rica a GREAT place to live is by having a universal, global living wage. Employment that either pays a living wage or allow employees to be co op owners of companies with shared profits. It is a system that can work if we resist greed.
I was just in Costa Rica July 2024. My dentist is located in hospital Cima. I love Avenida escazu. So I know the area that you are speaking of I too would love to move to Costa Rica. I am retired I have a home in Florida I am a San Antonio native. I will continue to watch your RU-vid channel to learn more I did inquire about rent and housing while I was there I will be coming back again to finish my dental work very affordable.
Hi.thanks for the very helpful video.a question please..I should create a separate page each time I want to send a different automated email with a free digital file?it cannot be done within a blog post.correct?
I live in Hong Kong so was sleeping when you were live. This was my first time watching. Anyway, I switched from Yoast to Rankmath (paid version) more than a year ago. Since then, I have experienced a progressive decline in traffic. I didn't notice it at first as I thought it was seasonal. But when l was reaching my traditional peak season (April thru June), my traffic went into a free fall. That's when l took notice. It has declined from 23,000 hits in April 2023 to about less than 4,000 so far this month - my WORST month in 15 years of blogging - except maybe the first two months. Before switching to Rankmath, I was experiencing a steady increase and thought I had finally made a breakthrough. I can't help but wonder if it is time to throw in the towel.
Hey! I'm so sorry to hear this. If I may ask, were you getting a good portion of your traffic from Google? If so, your massive traffic drop may be due to the various Google algorithm changes rather than RankMath, although I can see why you could conflate the two. If not, it could have something to do with your RankMath settings. Check out this post I found in RankMath's help section about people who in a similar situation to yours here: support.rankmath.com/ticket/migrate-from-yoast-to-rankmath-lost-90-of-traffic/#:~:text=Migrating%20from%20Yoast%20to%20Rank%20Math%20can%20sometimes%20lead%20to,to%20the%20drop%20in%20traffic. Last thought: Are you bringing in traffic using any other methods, like Pinterest, RU-vid, or other social media channels? That may also help with your traffic decline. It's been a rough year for many bloggers on the traffic front, so I hope you find some of this helpful.
Being able to move to Escazu sounds privileged as hell. Most middle-class people in Costa Rica could never afford it, which is why Escazu is so gentrified. You moved into the Hamptons of San José.
Escazú offers a lot more than just the area around Multiplaza. Many diverse neighborhoods, including those around Escazú Central, have all levels of income. Gentrification in places like San Rafael started over 40 years ago with wealthier Costa Ricans moving in from the city. It’s important to appreciate the diversity within Escazú and avoid making blanket statements.
I ask this as it is a trending topic in Costarican media and politics. Do you have any opinion regarding the gentrification issue that is peaking in there right now? Thank you.
I just hope you are paying taxes and supporting local businesses because if not, I will politely ask you to leave :) Gentrification is a real f*cked up problem that has been affecting Costa Rica for years now. So many costaricans have to leave because we can't afford the living cost of our country, prices keep going up and up and salaries are going down and down. The government only cares about selling properties and giving accommodations to foreigners who are independent when people are literally dying of hunger and there is not enough economic flow. The government don't care about us. F*vking nepotism and corruption is all we get. I sure know this because I am one of those people trying to escape this situation. I have not eaten a real meal for the past 2 days. Only water and cookies.
Hey did you get to apply for residency? both automatically become citzens after having a baby in costa. My friend from Nicaragua also had a baby with his wife there both were not legal there but after havinf the child they got citizenship.
Hi there, I hope you are doing well. Already, I have visited your RU-vid channel. I saw that your channel is good, and your thumbnail is so attractive. But there are some mistakes here. Your content quality is excellent. But if you can solve these problems, you can do well on RU-vid.
Here is a good document that gives a fair representation of around what we pay our nanny per year. www.erieri.com/salary/job/nanny/costa-rica#:~:text=Salary%20Recap-,The%20average%20pay%20for%20a%20Nanny%20is%20CRC%206%2C324%2C554%20a,of%20education%20for%20a%20Nanny
