Love it 😍 What a stunning day & video 😎👌🫶 You r so like me - baby steps & time doesn't matter It's all about the experience, views & talking to the animals 😂👍 Just enjoying it to the full 😊
@@alanwright9112 yes Alan mate I'm the same, I enjoy it more at my own pace, love my chats along the way, had a lovely conversation with a woman that least 30 minutes on that hike. Didn't even see the time go by.
No I love it too but I'm just afraid to go near bogs or off track I wish I could but that just scares me - the getting stuck waist deep or lost in the wilderness miles from my car 😂🤷🫣
All my hikes are solo. I only started 18 months ago at age 53. Mainly to get healthy and a love for the outdoors. This year I've walked the Dales Way, Cumbria Way and the Cleveland Way.
You started hiking just after me, I'm hiking just over 2 years now and it was for health reasons too for me both head health and body. Well done you on making the change I wish you all the luck and good health and many many more adventures to come, take care and happy hiking chum. 👍 Thanks for the feed back it means a lot.
Solo hiking is not available to women in the way it is men. Certainly 90% of women do not solo hike. I have solo hiked as a woman but it’s not as relaxing as I imagine it to be for a man when they pass others. I am often wary or scared.
@@SassySlater wow Abby that's makes me sad knowing that, I've women friends that hike alone all the time, I find it very very empowering for a woman to hike alone, as a man I honestly can't say how it must feel to have that fear from a ladies point of view, but trust me as men we can get the fear too, especially if you suffer from mental health problems. But that's why we do it to help ourselves, and as a hiking community we stick together. Hopefully you can experience solo hiking again with confidence failing that share it with a friend or loved one you feel safe with, happy hiking, take care 💚 thank you for your honest opinion.
Id say 90% of my hikes are solo and the other 10% would mainly be with family. I like to travel at my own pace and may sit for some time and enjoy the views while having a snack, i don't like to hold people up so it suits me.
@@ExploreAboveAndBelow that's me 💯% I enjoy the hike more at my own pace and Defo get more out of it by spending time on what I've achieved. I could sit up the top of a mountain for ages just taking it all in, thanks for your feed back chum,,, happy hiking 👍
@@ExploreAboveAndBelow good on ya pal, enjoy the experience as much as you can, life is about making memories and having fun,,, I've not done any camping in a long time,,, but it's something I'd thought about for a while but never went ahead,, never know maybe next year in the summer. 👍
Nice day for a good hike into the hills. It's not always about the destination, but it is all about the journey. A lot of what trolls post is rooted in jealousy, just keep doing what you're doing!
Nice one, David, once you left the road it was always going to be sketchy. We walked once up to the tunnel but didn't go further so you did better than us! Wouldn't worry about negative comments, we all get them, scroll past and move on. The start of the Seffins is steep but that's probably the way to go, follow the wall to Rocky and then skirt round it. Regards, Ashley
💯Ashley yea it doesn't bother me in the slightest chum.😂 It was yours and Andrea's vlog I watched that gave me the idea to climb the Seefins, I think it was the one yous headed over to chimney after them. It was very sketchy after the Binnian tunnel I didn't realise how deep those river banks were you can see it better from the drone. I think your plan is better well for me at least 😂, take care buddy.
Well done, fella. I've done that trail, and it is tricky. I've also bathed in the waterfall, and that was stunning. Keep up the good work, and I hope to see you up there soon.
Brilliant video David them drones shots where class 👍 that was me out camping in the Annalong valley in ur drone shot lol.. was great to see the path you took there aswell will have to go that way sometime 😊
@@jmcadventures3883 for real was that you in the green tent,, 37.45sceonds into the vlog. Did you go over from Carrick little? It's outstanding out that way where you were, I need to go more over that way, the only thing worries me is the deep river banks running through the whole valley. But they say nothing ventured nothing gained 👍
@@hikingtohealth Yea mate was me my brother and a friend. Was a great day to be out there to.. the river banks can’t be a bit tricky but the adventure can be pretty fun aswell as long as where all safe.
Ooh I’ve never walked this way into the mournes. Definitely have to do this some day. Thank you for showing this David. That was some walk well done 👏 beautiful scenery too
Hi Natalie, it was my first time over that way through the the gates at dunnywater, I'd been over the Seefins way before so I thought I'd have an adventure. It's lovely that way but some very deep river banks and narrow goat trails, but you'd find it no problem chum. Yea did you see your comment on the intro.😁👍
@@hikingtohealth I did, I spotted mine ☺️ ignore any of them hate ones. You are doing amazing and more than people sat on the sofa as you said. You should be proud , that was a good hike you done in an unfamiliar part of the mournes and in bad terrain too . Your Smashing it. Your editing skills coming on too . Keep it up 👍
Wow 👌😍😎 gorgeous place, flip I wonder if that way ok if u go on, id not have chanced either I don't think, it's ok if go with someone but when alone then parts scare me especially when boggy 🙈😂 Well done on another lovely walk, I love them gates at dunnywater, called in 1 day when hiked somewhere close & walked to that wee lane that was on ur left walking down, there is a wee bridge & for nice pics of the river at it then turned went back. Afterwards if course I got told if had of walked on for another 20 mins I'd have got to the binnian tunnel so defo am going back sometime, hopefully soon (my list is too long - so little time)! I get that buzz u get too, it's great & feels so good for the soul, it's an addiction but a great addiction to have 😂 Frig (wanted to say worse here) the haters & trolls that hide behind screens & if u faced them in reality they wouldn't say boo, u keep doing you, ur overlapping then all sitting on their asses, I'm in awe of u & love ur vlogs, gutted iv to wait now another while on ur next one 😂🙈 No matter what we do in life there's always people going to have a crappy opinion on it, let them run on as I said before 😊😎🕺💓 Live your life how you want & let nobody stop you
Hi Maxine no it's not to long it's the positive comments I like, yea I don't waste my time on people like that I've more important things to do like enjoying my new life, so I hope your well and life is good to you. Thank you for the support and encouraging comments it means a lot to me honestly. 😁
Hay buddy long time no here,,, how's things, hope you're well, mate it's a cracker hike very wet in places but I'd a blast even though I didn't make it but I'd fun trying and that's what it's all about,,, take care chum.
@@hikingtohealth oh ok I will get seeing it over the weekend 🥰 I'm sure I will, I love ur wee vlogs - I need more now though lol get out there every day for me 😜
💯Maxine, I'm making plans for the next one already I'm so happy you get something from my vlogs it means so much that you enjoyed them, it makes it all worth while, take care 😊
Just watched this David, well done on another great achievement, physically and mentally. I did laugh at your infatuation with the cattle - I'm a townie, married to a farmer's daughter, and have received years of education on cattle management, but be careful around beasts with big horns!! Never been up that lane before so was nice to see something new from the Mournes. You asked halfway through about what could you do to improve the channel and videos, which I think is a good question - we should always be open to ideas - watch other channels, see what they do - Stephen Reid has a huge channel but he's unique and I enjoy your videos more - Black Crag mostly does videos in the Lake District, has a massive channel too, very professional and perfectionist, but It's like watching the BBC - Check them out for ideas - also check your stats, see how long are people watching for as that will tell you a lot. I could go on. You are doing brilliantly to be at 431 subs, and you give it to us raw and real, also your health and mental health battles also give the channel a point of difference, so lots of positives!! Stick at it, post videos regularly and the channel will definitely continue to grow. I know you were struggling with your body at the end so you need to manage your body and it's fitness level. Regards, Ashley
Hi ya buddy, yea the cows were amazing, that's twice I've met them. It's the Sandy brae road end it's a nice walk even with the wind. Yea i know Stephens channel and thanks for the compliment that means a lot to me Ashley. I'll look at that Black Craig channel too. My stats I think are ok, could be better. Yes the subs are going up each week 150 in the past 3 weeks, slow and steady but every one very much appreciated. Yea you do get it pretty raw at times sorry bout that me being passionate again 😂. Yea it's been a long journey but to share it helps me a lot and if it helps others along the way well that's what it's all about. I do push myself to much at times but it's the challenge I love. Thanks for the support and encouraging comments buddy and as always take care and say hi to Andrea, James and Sarah.
Yea PS Ashley I'll have to take time to get caught up on your channel mate, it's tough having 2 channels, here and tiktok, tiktok has grown really fast I'm sitting at 9500 followers, so it replying to all the comments. Takes up a lot of my time but I will get caught up 👍I'd rather take time to watch and enjoy your vlogs mate.
Wow that's cool knowing I made it all the way over to you, with me in Ireland most my views are in Europe. Slieve Gullion is an amazing mountain with outstanding views, I hope you had a great visit. I see you have a RU-vid channel as well, I'll subscribe to it and check you vlogs out, but most of all thanks for watching and commenting it means a lot take care. 👍
Hate cows, wouldn't trust any of them and certainly wouldn't stop to take pics and talk to them! Hope the old knee holds up for further climbs. I climbed Slieve Martin outside Rostrevor today, man was that steep...walked twice as far as I needed to cos I'm the idiot who doesn't read info boards...drove home thru the Mournes, they looked spectacular in the low evening sun
Thanks David yea the knees not to bad, funny enough I was going to head over there today myself ended up in Dunnywater, headed over to hares castle, was a good day. I did that as well not reading signs right first time ended up at the bottom entrance and had to walk up to the top carpark 😁
Well done 🎉👌😎 it's some dander, the mccoos defo make it worth while lol U feel like ur never getting to that wall, of course I'd thick fog seen dam all whole way to top of eagle & about halfway down ur path then it cleared down there for me to just about see that lovely valley Maybe if hadn't have been so foggy id never have made it, defo helped seeing nothing 😂 just gutted didn't have the views up eagle though after all that affort - im getting the zero views more than I get a view 🤷🙈🙈🙈
@@maxinebriggs8102 it was a dander and a half Maxine, I guess i was pretty lucky with the weather apart from the wind hope it didn't ruin the vlog for you. I always check the weather for the better days, it's a pity you put all that hard work in for no view. But I'm sure you had fun doing it, 😁
