I was there in the end of the 80ties and it looked very authentic. We were lost with our car in the Sierra Nevada, and then we saw a little town, it was unreal. We had a very good time there.

One of continental Europe's only true deserts, gets less rain that Phoenix and large parts of Arizona, Texas, New Mexico etc. Closer to the sea and at lower altitudes the desert is classified as a hot desert climate but at higher altitudes and further inland its classified as a cold desert climate. You might notice how there are very few trees but a decent amount of bushes and that is because while it gets hot and dry there, it does not get hot like in Phoenix, AZ for example and the evaporation levels of water are not as high. Still, there are dryer areas than what filmed here where there are less vegetation. Not Spain's only desert either. All of continental Europe's true deserts are located in Spain. went in august it was fun. we went quite late. walked through the zoo and the film set. met the cow boys and can can girls also watched the live show and had bbq.
