Great finish color on the guitar. My Classic was made in 2000 and it has an incredibly rich honeyburst color. It's also upgraded to WCR Fillmore pickups, which perfectly nail the tone of Duane Allman's LP he used at the Fillmore east. His guitar didn't look like honey, but it sure as hell played like it! I won't trade or change anything on mine for the world.

Heavy (distorted tone), bluesy (minor blues pentatonic and mixing with major), exotic (implemening harmonic minor and melodic minor), cool (nothing to be explained here), emotional (good phrasing) and funky at times. Slash is the textbook definition of rock guitar playing for me.

Pulling some epic shit out of the vault!! Man, killing it. It's amazing how similar you play to Gsharp, I love it. I am not always sure why your playing and G's sounds a bit different to me than Jakob, although his playing is out of this world too, but you and G seem to use a lot of the same phases an bends that I really dig. Very bluesy. Cant wait till you get you LP back man! I feel like I almost want to give you one of mine!
@LaszloErdosy
@LaszloErdosy 2 месяца назад
Thanks bro! Well I can’t speak for others but the way I see it I might be G#sharp’s no 1 Padawan. He left me in such an awe. I didn’t even know the guy but he rocked my world. I feel like I owe him and from the moment on I’ve discovered him his stamps are integrated to my style and want to keep his legacy on. To be honest I’m more inspired by him now then Slash at this point. I always stay open and allow the “crack and in the woodwork” and what I mean by that is I don’t intend to become identical to anyone but like a sponge I soak up in my influences and that goes on as such a long list. Had a lot of phases throughout the years with strats and teles though. Now I do enjoy the Les Paul and as far as the sound goes I think it differs from you guys because even though most of the Les Paul approach of course happens in Slashy style I haven’t really researched and studied or necessarily follow it to a T. No Slash pickups, I stayed with the ceramics. Nor amps or pedals, that doesn’t really hype me just flow with the influences but allow it to happen it in it’s own way! Thanks for your comment brother!
@LaszloErdosy
@LaszloErdosy 2 месяца назад
Hope that there isn’t controversy in what I said but you know what I mean. For instance that you’ve mentioned Jacob he seems to be the most dedicated Slasher. Niko is a walking Slash Encyclopedia ,with outrageous knowledge and exactness, he probably already knows the non existent Slash songs. Correct me if I’m wrong but I think that you also work less strictly in terms of Slash. You took what inspires you but you don’t necessarily leave it “only there”. I’ve listened to your work and can tell there is such a wide range that your style goes for. Also super blues oriented which I love with several other blues and rock influences. But I guess it goes with the end goal, if the goal is to be the best Slash player for one then be it. But I think you and I work more lightly on this sentiment and not only strict Slashness.
@slashtrio
@slashtrio 2 месяца назад
@@LaszloErdosy dude, awesome response. I agree, I think you have taken what G was doing and have the same vibe. I also agree that i personally am more influenced by Gsharp than slash. Obviously I love slash but I feel like G (and you too) have that great blues feel and I can tell that you guys have studied the greats like Clapton, Page, SRV, Hendrix and the like. I love your playing man, you and G are big influences on me for sure. I agree and also don’t strive to sound just like slash and I work a lot on traditional blues and having great bluesy bends, good vibrato, and just getting that blues vibe. That part has come more naturally to me than the really fast legato stuff, I am just new kind of starting to crack that code to an extent. I did kind of chase the slash tone for a while but have kind of settled into a few tones I really like. Definitely like the cranked Marshall sound but also sometime less gain and more JTM kind of vibe. And yea, Jakob is super dedicated and his playing is like identical to 90s slash, and yea Niko is kind of like slash RU-vid royalty at this point. And yea, you’re right, I don’t work too strictly on being just like slash, I had already been influenced by other blues and rock guys and hope to kind let all these influences just filter into my playing and have a bit of my own style. Awesome to hear from you man, look forward to hearing some new stuff from you. I have been doing some lesson type videos which some people seem to enjoy but I know they’ll be stoked to have the big dog back in the game 🤘🏼👍🏼😎🎸. Peace bro
@LaszloErdosy
@LaszloErdosy 2 месяца назад
Thanks bro! Didn’t want to sound controversial saying that don’t want to sound identical yet having a major influences such as Golan or Slash or SRV , Angus Young and I’ve really studied all these guys for sure but it comes from a perspective that is simply allow multiple sources to shape your own style instead of just full blasting on one particular person and really that it is. At least that’s how it is in my head yet every now and then I read negative comments being called a shitty Slash wannabe. But it’s really not it for me I just love the stuff and that’s how I blow off steam playing music. Doing it the best I can but not rigidly coping everything. The lessons I’ve been doing for the past 2years or so on YT is pure joy and it feels amazing to give back for the newer generation who just got captivated and Golan inspired me on this big time. If he would still be around I probably wouldn’t, those are big shoes to fill but I couldn’t find anyone else doing the old fashioned way of teaching on youtube and I thought man this cannot stop so that’s when I came out with the idea that maybe I could do lessons in a similar way. The though thing was dealing with haters even at this a micro level. But it’s okay I had a lot bigger problems in my life recently than to give a duck who thinks what😂 I do these with good intentions to give something back at this point since now there is decent 20 years in it. And if they don’t like it but they’re still watching and commenting on top of it they’re still fans😂 But got a lot of love too and that’s awesome just gotta focus on the ones who it’s worth doing for. You can’t please everyone and you don’t have to and that’s RNR😎🖕 But going back to the original subject you gotta keep pushing and grow to a level where your once idols are now are competitors of yours. This is not in an egocentric way but this idea will help stretch you out (theoretically speaking) If you think about it this what made it work for all the goats in history though and it is a good perspective to have. If Slash would have settled on being a Jimmy Page or Joe Perry or whoever his no1 was at the time and he would have remained a tribute player he wouldn’t have reached half his potential and we wouldn’t know who the F Slash is. It’s just facts. You always gotta strike further and I’m saying this respectfully but it’s the only way it works. Easier said then done though. I feel you on that bro you have listed some of the big guns as your favs that is the same for me. It comes with age tho.I mean the younger ones seem to have more of a tendency to become closer to the main source. Having the need to embody something and belonging somewhere tops at an early age. It’s normal they’re seeking and now they’re trying to find ways to express themselves figure out what it’s all about and that’s cool and fun, but the idolizing part dies off after a certain age. I remember when I was younger I also put way more effort into embodying everything about guns n’ roses and slash but then you know you kind of grow out of it in that sense. Im a fan too and I have GNR merch and all that shit but I won’t wear a top hat or have a wig I think the reason why G is a huge influence for so many of us obviously is not only because he excelled the game but also he seemed to be super approachable guy and his expertise closed the gap for many of us and doing all this in such a humble and loving way sharing and leaving blueprints for the ones who are seeking that kind of knowledge. Man that’s what really touched me. Anyways brother, Glad to hear from you and thank you for all your insights! Big up! RNR

@@LaszloErdosy it’s cool man, I don’t think it’s controversial. I mean ultimately we are just guys playing guitar on RU-vid, I think you should just do whatever you enjoy and that makes you happy. You obviously have a lot of guys who really love your playing and want to learn from you, which is really cool. I get the negative comment thing, it definitely sucks. Luckily I don’t think you get too many ha. But it’s the internet and there will always be ass holes out there who want to talk some shit. I have mostly good feedback, but when I first started posting lesson type videos I had a handful of guys say things like “play more talk less” and stuff like that, which really annoyed me! I mean for one it’s just a dick move. I mean this is free content so if you don’t like it don’t watch it and move on. I’m a 49 year old psychologist man, I have a life and kids and am very busy. I love playing guitar and I like teaching in general, so it’s sucks when people are rude and have zero tact. Everyone had the learning preferences and attention spans, I kind of approach my lessons like you were sitting down with me and I’m just showing you licks and some explanation, but it’s mostly visual. But you’re right, it does feel good when someone tells you you helped them along a bit or revealed some aspect of playing there were stuck on. I have had many comments like that where guys thanked me for helping them and I have to say it’s a nice feeling. I know I’m not at the level of you and Golan but I’m better than average and I know there are tons of guys watching who are much worse and who want to learn and make progress. So it’s like we are all on this guitar journey and can learn from and inspire each other. I hear ya about idolizing and all that. For me that’s a young guys concern, I love playing but it’s a hobby and I don’t have any notions of being a professional musician or being a RU-vidr who actually makes a living. I’m pretty solid in who I am at this point in life and playing guitar is just one aspect. That said it’s cool for the younger guys who are tying to take it further, although being a “rockstar” really isn’t a thing anymore ha. I got into GNR in high school in like 1989/ 1990! Ancient history. I was already playing guitar at that point and tried to learn some of the AFD songs, mostly by ear and that old VHS GNR tape I posted on my channel. I started early and seemed to have a lot of potential and a good ear (my dad is a musician) but I lost some interest and motivation and would totally stop playing for years at a time. I had a SRV phase in college in the late 90s and got that strat and deluxe reverb and all that ha. Then stopped again. Then I got into signing and playing acoustic kind of pop-punk / emo-ish stuff in the 2004-2008 town period. That’s when I actually first started posting stuff on RU-vid. I have been very disciplined in playing lead guitar again since 2019, and this is the longest I have stuck with it. It’s like meditation for me man. I have indulged a bit on gear and have had a few too many LPs the last few years! Anyway, good chatting man. Hope you get that classic back soon. Oh, my first les Paul was given to me in 1990 by my dad, a 1990 LP classic in sunburst. I still have it. The early 90s classics are considered almost like custom shops, for what’s that’s worth ha. I dig it but man it has a razor thin neck, more like for dudes who shred. I need a bit more meat to grab onto for the bends. Peace ✌️
