Our VIP tour ended at Magic Kingdom at 5:30. But when the fireworks show was coming up later that night, I saw the VIP viewing area. I told the CM at the gate that we had been on a tour earlier in the day. I gave her the name of our guide. She checked her list and invited us in to watch the show with an excellent viewing place in front on the castle.
@jamesf791 You can have from one to 10 people per tour guide, but the price is the same. It's per hour, not per person. But if you can get others to split the cost, you can lower your cost. For example, two families.
My autistic 10 year old son was fortunately recently approved for DAS for our trip coming up later this month. He also used it in 2023. Are there any differences in how the service functions from 2023 to 2024?
I had the chance to visit post recording, I really enjoyed Lookout and prefer it to Castaway (though I fully admit that might be recency bias) but respect your opinion. It's great that there are multiple options now. Thanks for sharing! -J
Seems like after you use your first LL, you can book in the next park. Must have checked into first park at some point though I think (but if you start at AK and hop to MK you don't pay extra to hop)
I am feeling extremely anxious about getting my husband a DAS now for our September trip to WDW! His stomach tore open and he had a 12 hour surgery to remove his entire colon and has an ostomy! He has utilized DAS for 15 years! I’m so scared they are going to tell him no! His bags barely stay on so what?! They want a bio hazard of 💩 in the queue line if they tell him no because he can’t get a DAS and wait elsewhere? I’m so scared
There is also the strong possibility when you login to your 7 day window, you cam find the rides you want were sold out to people who could book before you and their trip overlapped yours. So you cant ride the rides you want. Or your might be forced to take ride times very late in the day and be forced to go standby only most of the time. No video blogger has yet to mention this. They all say the potential good things but not the potential bad things.
@disneydeciphered many people reported in different Facebook groups rides sold out when trying to book their 4th ride. Some top tier rides sold out for multiple days. Many people forced to take very late day rides.
Very helpful and eye opening episode. I knew the DAS system has recently been changed, but I didn’t know quite how much and why. Thank you Leslie and Becca for breaking it down for us.
Things are changing so quickly now that info in this video is already outdated! Sleepy Hollow menu changed and the waffle sandwiches are gone! Still, great stuff as always you two. Can't wait for the Flustered Joe and Frustrated Leslie Lightning Lane Multi-Pass and Single Pass discussion!
@@disneydeciphered We totally jinxed the chicken and waffle sandwich by recording an episode a few weeks in advance. Totally cursed every time when we do that!
I am hoping when multipass comes out on the 24th you can let us know more about and the risk of trying to book 7 days before the trip and find all the tier 1 rides sold out by people who could books days earlier and they overlap my dates.
-Tom sawyer island is very old and it's fine to go ahead and refurb it. It'd make a wonderful Encanto area, especially considering the river crossing features so much into the generational trauma in the movie. Or crush it and lean into the villains area they keep talking about + a haunted mansion restaurant. -We already have lots of little kid things at Magic Kingdom and we should. Fantasyland and Tomorrowland are almost all little kid stuff. -Agree with Tomorrowland Speedway. It's too bad that they've never figured out air floating/air hockey ride vehicles. Floaty vehicles would be neat. -Agree with the Seas with Nemo and Friends. It's cute but they could do better. -Mission space is a sack of garbage and always will be so I'm down for it to go away. Still say an Axiom ride that's nature-focused would be a nice bridge for the lands across the way from each other. Never gonna happen. -Star Wars Launch Bay can relocate absolutely everything elsewhere to One Man's Dream and out goes One Man's Dream. Because OMD is old and tired and needs to be retired. -I'm fine with closing Muppetvision IF we get a Disney+ permanent recording of it, just for history's sake. I'd miss it. But I'd also be okay with it going. But then, I'm a very big advocate of Disney doing this in general before they close their attractions. Do a POV ride-through (or sit-through for shows) and permanently capture it. Do multiple angles if needed. They have the time, the tech, and it'd be a very nice thing to be able to go through your D+ and rewatch old stuff we can no longer experience. I'd also kill for a muppets land. It's not going to happen because Disney doesn't understand what the muppets are and won't listen to the remaining people who do. -Rafiki's Planet Watch is fine but meh. The train is a problem. Also, Dinoland could exist if they'd just create an archaeology IP (live action) ala the mummy/potc kind of vibes. Instead, they're getting rid of everything dinosaurs. Craziness. Kids like dinos. -Kali River Rapids is weak, tired, and could be turned into something much better.
My daughter is a big fan of Disney. She's seen various videos stating that (I believe) the area of Dinoland USA is going to become some sort of Tropical America theme??? There was mention of Encanto and (in place of Dinosaur) they're thinking of doing an Indiana Jones Ride (like the one in Disneyland.). It is such a shame that they're getting rid of Dinoland USA. It has to do with animals that are pretty cool. So why get rid of it. You can refurbish Dinosaur and get rid of Triceratops Spin and the carnival rides. You can also get rid of Camp Minnie Mickey. I can understand that it's used as a meet and great and that there is some show there. But, other than that, what else is there to do. Get rid of that area and bring in the Beastly Kingdom (that was going to be there anyway before the budget was cut.)
As an international visitor to Disney World last week, I can list several changes that Disney could implement to improve guest experiences - and that doesn't even include rides! There were some really disappointing roadblocks/issues we encountered while there.
I think that Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin should go. I know the purpose it serves, but I feel like its time has passed and there could be a much better attraction put in that spot, even if they don't change the theme at all.
Just keep in mind that if you have at least 1 Little Girl & you meet a Princess, be sure that the Girl wears a Princess Dress so that the Princess can see the Dress.
You are my people!!! My husband asked me how it made me feel to hear other people talking about Disney based on efficiency, and the answer is “awesome!” We are heading to Disneyland for their first time (my first since 2001) this summer, and I’ve been looking for tips without spoilers. I’m a WDW expert, but not Disneyland! Thank you!
Thanks for listening! I can't guarantee no spoilers in here (can't remember honestly), but we broke down Disneyland attractions by tiers here - hope this helps and have a great trip! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zz0EB0giWs0.html
Love your content but it would be great if you mentioned the time of year you are at the parks. Since certain times of the year what you show in your videos are extremely hard to do and other times easy. Example using genie+ to go on tons of rides in one day. Easy off season, extremely hard on busy seasons.
Point taken. Realistically, we try to keep our content evergreen, so in general we are speaking towards "average" times. We do try to do episodes about busy times - Joe went to spring break after we recorded the Standby Skipper episode, for example, and was still able to get a lot of rides done even though crowds were 9s and 10s. On an average day it would have been even better
Great video! I am always looking to get to the VERY front for rope drop, but I haven't been in a couple years and am trying to figure out when the security gates open. Is the official time around 7am? I've seen some data points but nothing really consistent.
It is right at 7 AM. Noticed when I stayed at the Grand Californian last week that people started lining up for that entrance at 6:30 at least, and the line was pretty long by 645, so to be right at the front of rope drop you have to be early for security too.
The reason you are hearing people complain about everything disney, Leslie, is because disney is a rip off with cut services or no conceirge parking at really pricey hotels
I’ve stayed at boardwalk, yacht club, and all-star. You spend soooo much time at the parks, all I need is a cool place to sleep. So all-star is my jam. Walmart+ delivery. Lynx 311 bus from the airport for $2. It can be affordable if you do your research
Yes! This is the content I needed! I switched my Disneyland 2024 vacation to Disney world because I reserved with the free QS dining offer in January. And I’m still having fun crunching the numbers in my spreadsheets (yes I l❤ those), you confirmed or answered a few things I was wondering , and the saving of credits at the beginning was a big one! thanks 😊
As a Disneyland Vet, this was confusing. At Disneyland when you purchase Genie plus you get all of your photo pass photos included. Recently we just made our first trip to WDW To find out out you needed to purchase memory maker to get access to your photos was a tad disappointing. (Minus attraction rides).
Thanks for the good advice! We LOVE Carthay Circle Lounge which has a completely different menu than Carthay Circle which we don’t love. The Lounge has wonderful small plates and we eat there every trip - we like this even more than Lamplight Lounge which we also love. We place it above Napa Rose which we also enjoy but Napa Rose has such a small menu and we don’t eat big steaks/big hunks of meat so I wish they would add more to the Napa Rose menu.
I have a teenage son and he loves it still! Disney is for everyone! And you spoke to my heart when you said embrace it and do what you can while they still live with you.
Thank you!! Everyone’s been saying « Disney’s offering a great new perk » with the check-in day water park, and I’m thinking it’s a half of nothing, like the dining promo card last year😂
Îm harsh on this because a better offer would have been a free entry any day of your stay. There are too many variables on a travel day(plus the water park closing time) that can make people not actually take advantage of the offer or make it very tiring to do so😅
Question: If I want to share my Memory Maker with a family of three (2 adults and 1 child), do I need to add all three to my family and friends list? (I don't think the child has an MDE account.) If yes, do they count as 3 members out of the 25 maximum that I can add to my list? Thanks!
So if the child has a band and will be using it to grab photos, then yes. Basically, any photos that are grabbed by any band - if you want those, you need to be friends with that person. But you can add them as a friend and delete them later if needed. Thanks for watching!
No typically not. There are a couple - typically they are there only for the initial photo (like when you meet Cinderella going on). But while eating if characters come to visit it's all your own camera
We’ll be at Magic Kingdom during Spring Break so I think this will be very useful. Any chance of Disney shutting down someone’s My Disney Experience account for using Standby Skipper? That’s what I’d be concerned about.
