So, this game puts so many unnecesary dialogues to tell story and we Have Elden Ring giving you the control of it, you go and investigate by yourself and there is almost no unskipable text or unnecesary locks and that game has a GOTY and one of the best stories? how?
What confuses me about the Fatui plan, is that Pierro particularly advised against using Abyssal power in Khaenriah... So I always assumed his new plan doesnt involve Forbidden knowledge. Could be Dottore doing his own thing, but I don't believe his plan was to make Scara a "Dragon authority Archon" level god, more like an imitation god... Probably had a contingency plan, and even if Scara didn't cooperate, the top 3 harbingers have powers that rival the gods so he wouldmanage...

I miss them everyday 😭 Your analysis was spot-on, I felt so happy and validated that someone else had almost the exact same experience with Navia's introduction and development. Her character writing and voice were so phenomenal, it...ended up changing my lifelong opinion of *an entire colour* (yellow, which I had always highly disliked before). #1 character & best friend, no competition ♫ ♪
Personally I'm going to have low expectations for Arlecchino's quest. I would rather go into a story quest with neutral expectations going into it and be pleasantly/neutrally surprised than have high expectations and get disappointed which is what happened with fontaine act v for me. As a tsaritsa simp I am of course hyped for father's opinion on mother winter 💙
she will be interesting in her fatui voicelines because she is the first high rank playable fatui harbinger(im curious about she gonna say about to dottore because of the children experiment he do)
Mid-rank. Also she would have no reason to say anything about him considering what she does at the House of the Hearth. Not to mention that the experiments are not usually on children (Collei is the only child subject Dottore has had, his manhua Segment doesn't count and is already dead/it's basically a different canon, like the CBT.) Dottore developed delusions and Arlecchino is a benefactor of them, so she would have no right whatsoever to look down on him, especially when she is someone who is a wolf in sheep's clothing.
Childe was found guilty for the sole purpose of sending him to the Fortress of Meropide where the sluice gate to the Primodial Sea is, this is where the Narwhal was. With being this close he was able to better resonate with the Narwhal which is why he said he heard something calling him and he escaped the Fortress to confront it and ended up in a battle. This was all orchestrated by Focalor(the divine being that separated from Furina) to buy time for the 'Furina trial' and sentence herself the death penalty and give the authority of Hydro back to Neuvillette so he can turn the Fontanians into real humans and stop the Narwhal from consuming them. The Fontainians were not fully humans, the still had raw Primodial Sea water as their bodily constitution, the Narwhal drinks the primodial sea and the people looked like a tasty snack.
Personally, i wish it revealed that she is evil. But not evil level like Dottore but rather someone that has committed very evil actions yet, the have some aspects of their character that are good. Like how Childe tried to Genocide Liyue and believe the weak should just die. Yet he has a soft spot for his family. Or how Scara/Wanderer. Committed a LOT of killing of Innocent, yet when he learn the truth behind his story and how he was tricked to follow that path of evil, he try to fix it all by erasing himself on an attempt to bring back to life all the people he killed. (Even if that didn’t work) They all are evil but not in a cartoonish way like Dottore. The character have more depth. I would be disappointed if the story just forgives the actions of Arlecchino with “she is trying to be a good mother and is not actually evil” It would be the story of Inazuma all over again
I believe Teppe gets a pass though since the man legit DIES his growth is cut short, which leads into a explaination about Delusions which in turn goes into the plot of the Doctor and Scaramouche later on, IF we as the Traveler did NOT witness for ourselves the true horrors of normal mortals utilizing Delusions some of the truly horrific experiments of the "Doctor" nor Scaramouche's link to said Doctor may not have come to light later on within the Wanderer story quest. So Ironically Teppe is the ONE exception as his usage of the Delusion leads into the events of two over arching Fatui Villain and Villain turned Anti-hero mostly. Learning about the Delusions is also what leads us to Collei's past.
For comparison with weapon banner, if you want something specific its 93 on chronicle vs 105 on weapon banner on average. Win foe whales, but for f2p/low spender wait weapon banner with 2 good weapon and good 4*, it will be much better value.
I like your sound analysis 👍👍 nicely done Now for the banner not using standard fates, i think it's because for the most part the banner will be mostly focused for limited time characters And the odd 4 stars rooster I think the baber is following a Mondstadt only theme whether it continues or not is unknown but it would be interesting to have a banner follow a set theme like having weapons and characters specific to a nation. Also i wanted to ask since you brought it up but like is it mentioned in the notes that there won't be a second chronicle banner for the second half of the patch?
I like this banner for two reasons: 1. You can finally guarantee a standard banner character and weapon you've actually wanted. 2. Its a better alternative to the weapon banner. I will be pulling on this banner the moment we get polar star on it because man I hate the weapon banner the most. More options are good even with all its flaws. Also while it would have been nice to have this banner use acquaint fates, it would have gone against the rules and cause legal trouble because of the presence of limited 5*s. No limited 5* is allowed to be added to the standard banner pool and using standard banner currency would break this rule. It sucks but to be fair both is still converted from primogems anyway. Also I have a feeling that Archons won't get placed in the chronicled wish simply because of their status as archons. Hopefully I'm wrong but I feel like it would be a disservice to the special status of these characters who have been designed purposefully to be powerful meta defining units. They went back and fixed Zhongli for a reason that no other character has ever achieved no matter how insistent the players have been.
I wouldn't be too sure about the Archon thing. Sure, it's a valid point to have, but I've been around too long, and seen way too many attempts from fans to make unwritten rules about what hoyo will or won't put on the banners... until they're proven wrong. Zhongli at least... on paper, would be eligible for the next Chronicled Wish. Whether they actually do that or not is up to them. They did starve out Eula wanters for almost 2 years, so maybe we might get a case where some characters get intentionally excluded, making the fans think they'll never get added, only then to get added the next update. At the very minimum, the rules they've set for eligibility leaves the door open.
@@EternaMidnight Their not limited, they got a debut banner and were explicitly made to be added to the standard pool. Having a one time dedicated banner does not equate to being a limited character. Keqing got a banner way back in the day as a filler banner.
@@arcazure9610 Then explain why they've been rerunning archons consistently over the last few years if not for their archon status? There is clear favor shown towards Archons and they have consistently been rerun at least two patches after their debut. The only time I can see them add the archons to chronicled wish is when the teyvat chapter is at the khanriah arc. I mean, this is the same game that REFUSES to rate up Amber, Kaeya and Lisa on the regular character banners! It took a whole new event wish to make them available outside of the standard banner and starglitter shop. They are the rarest 4* constellations for no other reason outside of being the 'starter' characters.
@@harmonialarts I'm not saying that there's no pattern to character banners and that everything is complete pattern-less chaos. the main reason for the archons rerun 4 patches rule also coincides with the archon story quest part 2 they get. They also used to have a rule early where characters that are featured for events or quests get a rerun, until that stopped I think in 2.8 with Yoimiya. I just think all of this is speculation at best, if hoyo decide they want to include venti for example into the next chronicled wish, well nobody's really stopping them. I'll just wait and see. I think it's premature to write off the Archons with a grand simple size of... one banner.
3:23: I overlooked that Shenhe actually hasn't run 3 times yet, so she needs a rerun before she can be put on the chronicled wish. So safe to say, she won't appear on the banner anytime soon. Other than that, everybody else before sumeru is clear
As a Tsaritsa Simp, I will strive that she will have all her harbingers and subordinates upon her arrival waiting for her! Lyney rerun during 5.X patch for sure. Honestly I feel like she will still remain a mystery even as she becomes part of the playable roster. She was designed to be a deciving character. I personally think she wants to be percieved as a 'Wolf in Sheeps clothing' when in reality she's actually a sheep in wolve's clothing. I think she is loyal to the people she cares about but acts as if she'll betray them with no second thoughts if it benefited her. Look at how she acted when Lyney begged for a delusion. She denied him and made him think about the reprucussions. She had a willing test subject for the delusion and she denied him for what reason? Maybe she knew that he would one day gain a vision but like, people can use both if they so desire so why not? She cares about the children imo, to me its her main motivation for overthrowing the previous father. As to whether this is the case we'll see.
As much as I am pro hugging animations, I couldn't help but be suspicious that the hug Gaming gave his dad was actually one of the "excited/pumped" animations (sorry idk how to explain it exactly) and they just made it look like a hug with good camera angles and them being close together. 🤔
i had a feeling that might have been the case but i couldn't tell for sure. Still though, it's better than nothing. Especially with the fact that Jeht just got a fade to black and text. If they're gonna draw up in-game art for Dunyarzad in Sumeru, they can draw Jeht hugging the Traveller.
This Lantern Rite didn't feel like Lantern Rite. They didn't even play the iconic music. And for some players THIS was their first Lantern Rite. Outrageous.
I have a type apparently. Pyro body guards who are too good for this world and have daddy issues. Thoma 🤝 Gaming I love them both so much so I absolutely adored this year's lantern rite ❤ I honestly like how the 4*s are getting the spotlight in limited events because their certainly gonna have really limited relevance in the main story. 4*s are usually side characters or are there to further the development of 5*s. Thoma kinda developed Ayaka in the sense that she realized she valued the people themselves over her prestige/image, Collei gave us a face to represent the COUNTLESS victims of Dottore's experiments and gave another layer to Tighnari's defensiveness around Dottore, and Lynette and Freminet showcased what's most important to Lyney which is his siblings. We DEFINITELY need more hug animations. Heck a STILL IMAGE is better than words telling us rather than showing.
Oh the Xianyun Story Quest takes place before the LANTERN RITE just so you know hoyo even held up the lantern rite start for few days so we could do it before the event
taking into account that the gnosis are made from the remains of the first one who came, perhaps the tsaritsa and the fatui are planning to bring them all together to somehow bring him back and then rival celestia??
Me: Where is Venti's second story quest? All archons have 2! Hoyo: Oh yeah! Anyway, here's Yoimiya's 2nd quest! I'm genuinely curious why they picked exactly Yoimiya to have a 2nd quest besides archons. It wasn't even that special, it was just a date
I do like how Yoimiya was one of the few characters to express interest in the Traveler as a person and checked on how they were doing. A lot of the more intimate lines from other characters only exist in the lines for each character which people can miss if they don’t have them or have them and don’t play them.
I really liked your video, but man, you gotta do sth abt your audio or delivery. You had sudden spikes of volume while speaking, and it made it kinda hard to sit and watch while you would suddenly shout at me😅
Truly nothing like Albedo and Xiao having some of their most important story beats being locked into limited events. Winters at Dragonspine, the Summer Islands, Lantern Rite.
Genshin needs to make one of two changes event that add nothing to the story or events that are available permanently Either by being replayable or by being archived in game
I actually love how they placed Dunyarzad in the quest. They got us so attached to her and plus her role also existed to cement into us how Eleazar (human withering) is so crippling. They corrected all the wrongs they made with Teppei to the point where Dunyarzad is one of the most loved NPC's in game (along with Melus and Silver ofc)
One of my friends once stated that they wished Dunyarzad had died during the archon quest from her Elezar to raise the stakes of the quest. Maybe is true but also we wouldn’t have gotten to see her character arc
I hope that NPC design also gets better from here. Like with the Ghost Girl from that event and with the new 4.4 NPC. Those two are actually well designed. It's bad to only work on the writting, I'm gonna look at the shitty NPC and lose my hope for their story frame 1.
As someone who was disappointed with Fontaine and prefers Sumeru as a whole. I can’t disagree with your points. Fontaine’s playable characters, generally with a few exceptions, (Sigewinne, Freminet) got great development and depth throughout the archon and story quests. As much as I dislike Lyney, I have to admit he’s a well written character. Furina and Navia in particular stand out very well. I actually believe Navia to be the single best written character in Genshin. After all that how can I still prefer Sumeru’s characters? Well it’s simply because Sumeru’s cast feels like a big group friends. They have fun banter and tease each other but also stand by each other and will defend them until the very end. While Fontaine’s characters feel like everyone is purely on a workplace relationship. I feel like I don’t know these characters outside of their work. Yes we know a lot about Navia’s relationship with her father but he is still intertwined with her work first and foremost. Kinda unrelated but also I prefer Sumeru over Fontaine because Sumeru is more adventurous. Fontaine is very political. I’m not a fan of the courtroom drama and murder mystery. Also I’m not a fan of the steampunk aesthetic. Sumeru feels more like a fantasy adventure. With less technology and more magic.
For why Scaramouche was able to use multiple elements during his boss battle, it could be a power related to Delusions, since his battle suit was created by the Fatui's top scientists and materials.
Dottore is the most interesting character in genshin for me, I'm always happy to see theories on him. I don't think he forgot about Scara, he knows things Orobashi got sentenced to death for, no way his memories can be tampered with by Irminsul. He strikes me as type of villain who would always be like ten steps ahead of you which makes me love him even more, we need more villains like him that feels like a threat rather than boring NPCs that makes quests feel like a snoozefest.
The thing I hate the most about this type of gacha games is how little risk they take with characters. You summed it up perfectly. They can’t change, they can’t suffer permanent damage, they can’t die, and god forbid they fall in love because the fans would kill each other. In the end, most are boring carcasses made to sell digital toys. Even though Furina was executed masterfully, they’re still afraid to kill a playable character, which is why we see so many archons with clones or “sisters”.
