This artist director Nazzareno Carusi forced Qingzhu Weng to wear much much bigger size jacket(which was not his jacket) right before his Mozart round, and also right before Tchaikovsky concerto performance. There's no this kind of rule, dress code for competitors. The artist director just disturbed his performance and concentration a lot. Such a "professional" way. If you are professional musician, you know how important it is. What you wear, how you concentrate yourself before you go on the stage. (And he had to play such a difficult program, not like easy pieces.) If you're not musician, I explain to you, it's like you have to run with much bigger size shoes than your foot, plus performance, looking everything has to be perfect. And more than thousand people are watching you in live, or Livestream.
@@voicetherapist1 I feel so sorry for that audiences of Genoa usually don't have good habit during the performance, they don't switch off their cellphone and sometimes talk to others...not only for this competition, I go to Carlo Felice every Monday night for GOG's performance and it happens every time that someone's cellphone rings.
In questa parte il video manca di due concorrenti infatti il video dura solo 9 minuti la mattinata durava circa 3 ore potete provvedere a inserire la mattinata completa? Sarebbe davvero una bella cosa grazie

In my humble opinion, of the 6 finalists, Hawijch Elders deserved to win this competition; my second prize goes to Weng and third prize to Simon Zhu. That's just my private opinion to which I think I am entitled, even though I do not challenge the wisdom and expertise of the much respected jury.
Congratulations to Simon Zhu for winning 1st prize whos teacher also just HAPPENS TO BE THE HEAD OF THE JURY. He totally deserved it and there was no favoritism and fraud lmaoo...😒🙄
@@Cartesio8019 im not sure if you're aware but its common practice for jury members with their students playing in the competition to downvote and give lower points to other players so their students can come on top since theyr not allowed to vote for their own students. They intentionally give lower marks and points to the other contestants to give their students the edge. Simon zhu did not deserve to win anyone who has 2 ears can tell.
@@danny_chestnut253Thank you for the comment, I have 2 ears and I was sitting in the audience so I heard the original performance. The microphones aren’t capable of capturing every detail the audience gets, and your perception of the sound from RU-vid may change according to the quality of the device (headphones, speaker) you’re listening from. I was there and Simon Zhu made two outstanding renditions of the Brahms and Paganini concertos and personally I was really touched. Having said that, I respect everyone’s opinion and in music personal preference can happen, but I think your comment was quite inappropriate and offensive, and instead of talking about what you felt and what you heard during the performance, you based your argument on the rumor that “usually teachers….”. These amazing musicians deserve respect
Dear Daniel, same pattern was obvious at the Third Tretyakov Competition: Grand Prix and first prize went to the guys whose professors (Zu Veilin and Wolfson) were sitting on the jury.
@@martinosimionato1536 The theater Carlo Felice doesn't have a excellent acoustic design. This year the organization of the competition is not very logical...even for the audiences
I voted for Hawijch as my favorite artist in this competition, cannot understand why she was not admitted to Stage B. Not because I hoped to see at least one European face among the Asian faces, but because she was among the best, in my humble opinion, and I wanted to listen to how she would play Paganini and another concert (I do not remember if it is Tchaikovsky or Brahms).
@@danny_chestnut253 It's just beyond me, I don't see where Zhang and Zhu were better than Elders and Kim. But one should bear in mind that the jury members may also differ in their assessments between themselves to the point that they may express opposite opinions. In some competitions they publish the scores of each jury member for each finalist. I believe publicity is very important in this case. It would also be great if each jury member may explain why s/he scored the performance of one contestant above the performance of another one.
@@danny_chestnut253 I do not think this jury is corrupt, certainly not such great maestros as Accardo, Grubert or Vengerov. But I struggle to understand in what particular areas Zhang was better than Elders. I just can't comprehend it. Maybe some of the jury members could explain their decision.
So many semifinalists play Waxman's Carmen. I wonder why they choose this tricky piece and not some other virtuoso pieces, such as Polonaise Brilliante by Wieniawski or Ravel's Tzigane.
