Yes, each fence panel comes with two steel "stiffeners", but one of our panels was missing a stiffener, so Home Depot ordered a replacement for us. Not impressed with quality of fence posts we rec'd. We rejected 3 out of 8. The replacements look good, but it slowed our project down.
These people make a great product. My Eco Stone fence just survived 160 MPH winds from hurricane Laura. My house lost it's roof, neighbors hurricane fencing and wooden fences are all destroyed but mine sustained minimal damage.
Where can find durable hinges that wont rust similar to the ones shown in the video? Also I noticed the panels that Simtek sells flr 6 ft height is always 6ft wide, is it possible to cut them to make a 4.5 ft wide fence?
We put up 75 feet in grey. Worth every penny!!!!! We thought we bought our dream home ( high Sierra's 5500' CA) We will be moving in a year, if we known we wouldn't of put it up. It's not cheep but you get what you pay for ( our new next door neighbor said the fence was one buying point). Too be truthful it will help us sell ours. It will out last 3 fence life times or more!!! High winds no problem, Snow and the weight of snow no problem. Rotting posts, not anymore! Cracking/pealing/discoloration not this!!! Our new home will have it as well, we will make sure of it!
We installed simtek fence and it's great!!!!! Never fade never crack never wrought out. High wind rating ( we live in CA. High Sierra's where the wind Rip's through) and it simply looks great! Ours is 6 ft high and grey as well as Ad in video. It's not cheep. But worth every penny!!!
I'd just like to point out how they're all wearing the same brand of what i think is sketchers, but i can't remember what sketchers look like.... point being, how much did they pay you for all of you to wear that brand of shoe as a sponsor?
what about the frostline? should't you make a hole deeper than the frost line so the post won't move up every winter as the ground freezes and expands? in my area you have to do this by code, how would i go about doing this if your posts are not that long???? i would love to find out since i'm in the market for a new fence. Thanks.
If you dig a hole deep enough to account for the frost line, and pre-fill with concrete, you will be able to set the SimTek post at the desired height. The concrete beneath the post base is monolithic with the concrete surrounding the post, creating a system that extends below the frost line. SimTek does sell 8' posts that are able to extend the generally 2' needed to be below the frost line while still allowing for a 6' above ground fence if you want the post to run the full depth of the hole. Be sure to calculate or throw in a few shorter 6' Wide panels if your ground slopes more than 1:16.
Raool Mad- 42 inches below grade, fill with concrete as Baya said. Probably use 2 bags per hole but depends on auger size- I used a 12 inch which was overkill. If you are in clay conditions, rent a "dingo" which is an easy automated post hole digger which will save your time and back. Good luck, mine looks great!
Simtek Fence No problem, I'm just amazed I never heard of your fence product before. Saves a lot of people replacing wood every 20 years. Looks better too. I think I have an Uncle that lives in Orem, my Dad's side is all in Utah.
