@@OhioTravelswithKris I did not see any. Lots of water puddles probably from rain but I didn't see any sign of flooding. But I didn't go all around the island.
spent many days hunting there with my brother in law and visited recently. Did not have the permit so will have to go back. The dove is a Mourning Dove. EXCELLENT video.
Thanks John for the comment. That is a very neat area where I've had lots of luck capturing birds etc via photos and videos. I don't hunt but I know it's a key area when in season.
@@goldenstringsstudio we used to hunt rabbits, ducks, snipe there but it was a long time ago. Many memories of me, my brother in law, and the dogs. One dog was bitten and killed by a cottonmouth so be careful.
Yes...its a cool experience. I've been on 2. But getting access to a port is not easy and then the ship captain has to approve the visit as well. But I hope you get the chance.
I knew there were dolphins that day, but I wasn't really trying to film them. It's always difficult to get any decent footage. But glad that I captured some every if by chance lol.
You are right...it is very tight. I found it difficult to even squeeze through on one occasion. But I'm not sure since I didn't witness them getting in and driving off. I imagine it's the order of how they are loaded/unloaded but that is a guess
Hi, I did the video about the KAP but I'm not the person flying the kite. I can tell you that the rig he wears is home-made and that the spool holds up to 1000 feet of line. He has multiple kites for different wind conditions and some he may have put together and others purchased. If possible I will see if he would comment here to give more information. I would love to video him talking about how he made it and his kites etc, but I can't promise when/if that might happen.
Thanks for that! As the sun rises over East beach and Goulds Inlet I wonder how many sunrises did James Gould witness from the inlet that bears his name?
I was reminded of Eugenia Price's book New Moon Rising and the story of Horace Bunch Gould as well as the characters from the book whose descendants still inhabit the island to this day.
When my transportation director found out that I had read the trilogy he started arranging private tours for guests of Sea Island that were interested, it was a lot of fun to share the history!@@froggyziffle
Yes bird watching is great. I only started doing it for about 5 years now. So lot of learning to do still, but we have a great area for a wide variety with migration events yearly. Thanks for watching...saw your last vid so hope you get into the mountains soon. I'd love to see more video's of those mountains.
Nice fishing adventure with your grandkids. They learn so much when they get to do things like that. I like seeing parents taking their kids out in nature. Looks like you all had a great time. Saltwater fishing is on my bucket list. Thanks for sharing your family fishing adventure. Neat to see what they caught.
Georgia has several major ports. Savannah, Brunswick (most of which is car import/export) and inland ports in Chatsworth, Bainbridge and Columbus. The Port of Savannah, home to the largest single-terminal container facility of its kind in North America, is comprised of two modern, deepwater terminals: Garden City Terminal and Ocean Terminal, while the Port of Brunswick is 1 of the top 2 car ports in the U.S. Thanks for watching my channel.
Thanks for that, I lived on the island until 2013 and sat many afternoons on the pier watching the ships pass by, coolest place on the island on a hot day. Peace be with you!
Katie the 'audio' on some of the clips are changed because of so many people always talking around the camera. The pier is seldom empty. So I use some stock audio clips...when that happens.
What a beautiful area. The train tunnel was cool. Does North and South Carolina get snow very often? The waterfalls with the ice is neat. I like the sound of running water. Looks like you guys had a beautiful trip.
They can get snow especially in the mountain areas. But I believe some of that was the result of the big storm that impacted much of the country. Even where I live in southern Ga we had temps down at night of 25F which is very rare for our area. Glad you enjoyed the video.
