Welcome to my channel, Here you will find videos of places I have explored. Mix of waterfalls, tunnels, caves and abandoned places including war sites. My old quad bike builds, CNC machine and 3D Printer plus other random stuff. Please show your support with a like or subscribe to the channel.
Love these pocket rockets! Got a 'like new' 99 model for a deal. So basic in design, cable drum brakes up front, cable disk brake at the rear. Air cooled 2 stroke 6 speed manual. It just ticks all the right boxes for an afternoon of fun kicking up some dust
I know I know. I so want to go there but its not one that's open to public. I have had a look from the Kennedys Bush Reserve side but its all deer fenced off from Summit Road where Kennedys Bush Road starts was kind of a track down the hill into the valley but no way from that way. I have also gone down Early Valley Road, Lansdowne and is no signs for a track. Think you can only go to it if you pay and go with a group that only go maybe 1 or 2 times a year.
@@ExploringwithMark Far out . didn’t realise it was private . It’s off that early valley road and is it there that is fully fenced up? You reckon it’s possible to climb over it or get around it somehow? If there’s no like owner of the property nearby
From what I’ve seen the falls are right off early valley but is there no track at all? Since they are only accessed once or twice a year I would presume there must be something around there just not visible due to the lack of people
Yeah down Early Valley Road is property's are just about no parking I had to walk couple mins up the road to look around for a sign. But looks like the track starts down the driveway to a farm. can see the 4x4 track from there to Brice falls. Also there is a upper and lower Brice falls. If you look on openstreetmap.org at the area you will see.
Looks like just a farm track to them. Will contact and asks some questions about the places see what info I can find out as I have wanted to go there for couple years now.
Hey hoping to explore this super soon, do you walk around to it from near the fuel tunnels? To the empty grass patch? Super keen and these ww2 and bunkers around christchruch
Park at the lookout. Walk up the road to you get to old gated road. walk down that and over another gate and over the bank on side of road to it. Worth doing.
@@ExploringwithMark yeah the green rope is feisty and really scary ! There is another one further down to the right that’s shorter as well and easier . Just no wee step things
@@ExploringwithMark They have been shut off to the public , as in the bunkers next to the walking track with heaps of graffiti the whole area has been gated off because of asbestos , Was sneaky and climbed over and covered the face up
Christchurch. Not sure if still open as I had another explorer tell me they went past are there was police cars outside. Not sure if someone got busted there of what.
I feel sadness at watching this video It’s as if this poor family for what ever reason just up and left their family home abandoned And very nostalgic Thank you for sharing 😕😇
@ExploringwithMark wonder what the story is with it, to me from what I've seen exploring around chch, it's rare for something like that to be in such good condition.
So ended up finding out what happened about this place on Facebook group Abandoned NZ. The house was a earthquake write off house and the owner had cancer and died. New owners brought it and that's how its stayed that's the short story but was a little more to it but will not post it on here.
I didn't realize until I got into exploring how many places we have that look so plain but have so much history, it's like New Zealand is just one big history leason.
Nice stone work - they certainly knew how to make it look good in those days! The tunnel seems in great condition - I would have thought it would be perfect for the rail trail.
Hey man, sorry for the late response but here's a bit of a list of places worth googling and making a bit of a map of as they're all in the central or lower Otago area. St Bathans Lake. Golden Progress Mine. McRaes eagle, and general mine area. Welshtown. Canton Stamper battery. Come In Time stamper battery. Lindis Pass hotel. Quailburn Woolshed. Pattersons cottage. /Google search this little known spot just tagged as Historic Wharekuri, it's an old tiny little town ruins on private property but you're allowed to have a look, easy to drive past, it's just a small sign on the side of the road. Goldfields mining centre, a pay to view place. Bannockburn sluicings. Mitchells cottage. If you're ok with pushing your car and driving skills a bit then totally check out The Obelisk which is a summer trip, as the road up is rutted and a bit tricky but once on top of the range the view and rock formations are crazy good.
@@ExploringwithRN Yeah is a lot of reviews about them and comparing them to gopro's. Plus that make some sick as drones. mate has one and dam the videos look insane.
Unless you've got another upload to come, you've missed an entire valley next to this one. Jump on google and take a look, it is accessed by walking down by the creek back towards Elephant Rocks. In my opinion it's the more interesting one for the stand alone rock formations. Also if you want to find that access point to the Shag Point Boulders mentioned the other day then look on google for 183 Shag Point rd and there's a steep and kinda shitty stairway immediately before the house fence down to access it easily. The real cool big ass boulders are to the left. Make sure you've go grippy shoes as there's some real slippery bits and you'll want to time the tides pretty well as the rock shelf is kinda in a depression and once the sea is coming over the rocks it comes in pretty quick.
Elephant Rocks and Valley of the whales I went to also will have videos soon. is it one of these? Sweet have it pinned for when I'm down there and will check tides. :) Are you from that area? No of any other cool spots? Apart from Riverstone Castle and Benmore Hydro Station.
One of the many last to see inside. Would make for a cool place to have open to the public if they just fixed it up. Have it locked at night and open in the day. I would be happy to have the job of unlocking and locking it haha.
Hey next time you're down that way, if you look on google maps back on the road leading in there should be a marker for photos named Shag Point Boulders. Take a look at the photos, the boulders are in some cases much bigger and some smashed up than the Moeraki boulders. A heap more rustic looking and less touristy.
@@ExploringwithMark Seen your video about the cracroft caverns , Is the entrance from the homestead blokced off and is the only way in is the vents ? Since the door is sealed shut is the vents the only option?
Been told the Entrance at the homestead also blocked. even if it wasn't you would only get so far before you got the the brick wall in the tunnel before the vent shaft. Vent shaft location is easy to spot on maps and is still listed as part of the caverns property. Most likely sealed / bolted closed. Yeah main doors welded and big blocks in front of the door now. another option but not easy would be dig a tunnel into the 2nd entrance to the right of the one that's sealed but that would be a mission.
That's interesting, I've always known it as a grain store for what was then Winslow Feed, the base's for the large silo's are still there 50 meters south of the shed as well as the conveyor system that goes under the road to Winslow Feed, the conveyor is over grown but still easy to find as is everything else.
Very familiar landmark! Always curious if there was anything in it but every time we passed it was a case of "get there-itess". So thanks for saving us the bother and for the background!
Not as big inside as i imagined but still cool, seems like many must know about this cave with all the tagging carved into the walls, Cheers for the video
