All this is interesting...and can be taught in 1 day... Do many students understand the history of mathematics of any culture? I don't need to know or care, where it came from...Just how to get a correct answer. The purpose is to introduce maths and each child will only grasp what they can! I was no maths genius, but I only learnt what I needed to know. I can say this Indigenous maths is useless in the real world. Your job is to teach relevant maths in the real world...That is what "MATTERS" Indigenous maths is just a "social studies" discussion! Essentially this is "useless codswallop" !!! The three "R's" Reading, wRiting, and aRithmetic are first and foremost! "They" are at it again...If I could get hold of 'Them'' some lead should be inserted in "Their" twisted minds.
What the hell is all this pseudo-spiritual nonsense? Teachers have been using pictures of groups of items forever to explain mathematical principles. Teachers simply do not just tell kids to 'count to ten'. Sounds like this guy has heavily borrowed Freire's generative themes concept and his 'banking model of education' criticism and also been applied It's hardly groundbreaking.

You say you took classes in Marxism when in reality you took classes in state propaganda. @Alex Nonsense. If that's the case, then everyone is everyone else and no one is anyone. There are still aboriginals who have no white admixture, so it's not like all of them have been outbred. Somehow, purely accidentally, of course, the ones that have no white admixture seem to be the least achieving ones, it's as if genetics matter, hmm, who would have thought?

Laure taught me stats in uni and it was my first experience of learning maths outside of high school which wasn't always positive. I always had a fear of maths unti about half way through the semester when I realised I was not so bad at it, and I could enjoy it if I worked past the fear!
