Thank you for this video. Haven't been able to use my dominant hand since I was fifteen. Saw Orthopedics on Friday and my surgeon is going to multiple things, including tendon transfer to be able to maintain hygiene and some use. Looking forward to therapy as well.

It is all very well recommending we see the GP, but we have to battle with the stampede at 8 am to get an appointment. It only stands to reason that patients will resort to A&E out of frustration because this system does not work.
Thanks for this video. My wrist got fractured in a road accident 2 months ago. It was a colles fracture in radius bone of left wrist. Dr removed the cast after 6 weeks and I am currently undergoing physiotherapy and its been 3 weeks now, i cant even lift a 5 kg dumbbell now. Is it going to be like this forever? How can i restore my grip strength and lifting ability that i used to have before injury, i used to do dumbbell curls using 10-12-15 kg dumbbells in gym and i know deter lifting 5 Kg dumbbell. Any suggestion or word of advice?
I also had distal radius fracture and had a surgery 5 weeks ago. These exercises are great. I do them each day in my breaks of work. They help a lot. I also found out that; actually using your hand helps a lot too. I try to do daily stuff a little bit more each day. I wasn't able to eat with my right hand, then barely able to eat 4 days ago, yesterday I was able to eat near-properly :) I was able to lift a glass 2 weeks ago, last week I was able to lift glass of water and drink, two days ago I was able to lift and drink from 500ml bottle easily. I will try 1 or 2kg bottles whenever I can :) Also, my next challenge is opening doors with my right hand. I will share the results :D
@@sonubhai1048 It's been 10 weeks I guess. I could open doors at 6-7 weeks or so. I can easily pour tea with 2kg teapot. Pronation and Supination is almost full rotation with a little pain at the end of rotation. Ulnar and radial deviation is still a little hard. Prayer stretch is at 80° instead of 90°. Btw, this video shows the exercises but does not show how to progress. At week 6; my doctor advised me to stretch until pain point for each exercise, then stretch a little more and wait 20 seconds. I've done these 3-4 times a day and I could see the progress afterwards. Also I did not try so hard until week 4.

I had communited displaced fracture of epidoncycle of humerus. Cast was 4 weeks. 2 and a half week tried pysio of home. Then 1 month normal pysio. And last 10 days vigorous pysio. Still not fully straightened. Should i get a mri done?
How many days or weeks after the operation should this be practiced? Got my forearm operated / implanted with orthopedic structure after an accident that broke my ulna and radius?

Hello I will be undergoing flexor tendon graft surgery soon and will be undergoing physio similar to this. I’m confused why the patient must wear the splint if they are able to bend the hand? Seems unnecessary to me, like a shield.
How about employing less administrators like you, and using the money to pay for more Doctors and Nurses? Or perhaps you could roll your sleeves up and work a night shift in A&E for once in your life? The public pay your wages in National Insurance, don't lecture the people of Swindon and tell us when to use the hospital or not. Tell us your salary and expenses per year, then we can decide if you are worth our tax money or not...
