hey, i ve got a question regarding midi with the G2 and whammy V I've got them set to the same midi channel but each time i click a preset ON THE G2 it swicthes the settings on the whammy V and i cant seem to select what preset i want it to be on the G2 If that makes sense???? Foot switch 1 will make the whammy go to 1octive up but i want that to happen on footswitch 7 but im not sure how i can change this
Hi Dan! What a cleverly made machine!! I have a question, do it allows you to put parallel effects, for having parallel reverb or delay in a mono signal? I think it's the only thing i love of my current ES-8 hahaha. I'm wishing to earn enought money to buy one of your G3s!! By the way, it would be so freaking good to have an european dealer to avoid taxes of importing from UK! Wish the best for you, guys!
I have a strange issue : no problem with syncing with midi clock - but when I set a « free » preset with no midi clock and tap tempo it seems that the tap tempo overrides the tempo for all presets ???
Dan, mere words do not really convey the enormity of what you have accomplished for planet earth. Your gifts, your insights as what Could be, your dedication to creating clean sonic character and the required wisdom to follow the trail, & stay your course, you're a magic man.
What if you guys made a smaller version where it use a stereo to two mono. So the stereo plug would be connected to the loop and then the two monos would be connected to the in and out of the pedal. It would cut down on the number of jacks on the loop pedal.
so if i plugged my guitar into a wha and then the wha into the input would that work just fine? so i would have constant acsess to use the wha on everything?
Hi Rob, because those outputs are an amp each you can connect a couple of things such as a high current pedal and an isolator, or you can connect both 1 amp outputs in parallel 2 power a quad cortex etc
Woof. These guys know their stuff.. but of course. Marr would be a GREAT source of information. Will he be using the new amps with Radiohead? Whenever?
I know this video is from antiquity, but could someone please confirm if I can us G3 for tap tempo on this pedal? I'm seeing mixed opinions on the AMAZE1 and would like to have another option. Thanks.
Hi there. The EXT kit is bought to use with G3. It separates the audio from the floor controller. The audio stays in the rack and the floor controller on the floor. Cheers mate 🤓🙏
Hi there. If you’ve got the board set up to integrate into an amp with an fx loop and yiu end up with back line that has no effects loop, you can simply place a patch cable between the send and return of the loop your using for the amps pre amp. Hope that helps 🤓🙏
Only improvement I can think of is trs jacks for every loop, so that each one can be run in stereo, thus you won’t have to make compromises if you need 12 loops! Otherwise this is just fantastic as is!
Hi Dan I sent in a warranty or product question 5 days ago, under Matt Gilson. I got mine in February, and I’m experiencing a weird issue suddenly. B side isolated output no sound no matter what. So flip flop mode only A works. In normal mode B side does work but only if A is enabled. If A is disabled everything goes mute. Wondering if you have any insight into this? Using the required power supply, tried a new one, tried different cables, isolated it and used it alone, plugged both amps direct to my Collider no issue or direct guitar. All B is in my dirty amp and nothing more. No matter what amp, cable, correct power supply this happens. I’m a bit stumped on this, and hoping to get it back up very soon. This is all running direct front to Amps, and simple setup I’ve been using with my Sky King and Ampeg VT40 months now with no issues till last Saturday. Thanks, Matt Gilson
This may be a very dumb question, but if the extension board is at my feet, where does your guitar plug in? Is that what the two 1/4" inserts are next to the 7 pin DIN in the back?? I know nothing about 7 pin DIN, so not sure it it's possible for it to send a guitar signal. I'm guessing this how it's done, because it would seem strange to have a 50' 1/4" cable going back to the pedal board off-stage. Clarification here would be much appreciated. One other thing, can the extension kit only be used with the G3, or can it be used with the G3 Atom as well?
Hi. All audio is in the EXT kit so you would plug in back at the rack. Currently it can only be used with the full size G3 but we may do one for the Atom in future. 🤓🙏
Brilliant!!!! I love and appreciate Ed sharing how he creates such a beautiful soundscape!!!! You can hear the passion in everything he says!!!! Thank you
Hey Dan question: I do not play in a "preset/set list" format but I would still like a loop switcher to save "the tap dance". Is there switchers that just turns on/off individual pedals without having to bank them together?
I’ve had my G3 a few years now. I LOVE IT. Not much of a learning curve, sounds very clean, midi works amazingly well, I run in stereo with no hum, crystal clear cleans, and no signal loss. Gig Rigs tech support is very friendly and have helped me out more than a few times on issues I’ve had (user issues, not G3 issues). I love it!
You really need to separate the control unit/loops and the switching unit using Bluetooth wireless. You don't want the switching unit on your pedalboard because it takes up a lot of the pedalboard space. The switching unit should be bluetooth wireless and able to place it by the mic stand while your pedalboard has the control unit mounted underneath the pedalboard which can have 50 effects loops. Until then its a waste of pedalboard space tell your EE engineers to do a bluetooth wireless version 2.0
Thanks. This vid is a basic overview of what a switching system does but with G3 you can separate the audio and the control unit so all your pedals can be in a rack off stage. It uses a 7 pin din plug so you don’t need to worry about the floor unit being powered, it’s powered from the EXT kit. Thanks Wayne
I often find myself wishing each and every guitar player could just try a Quartermaster. It's no exaggeration to say your playing life will be changed. I have some cherished pedals but could easily get along without them before giving up my Quartermaster and TheGigRig power supply. These are honestly my only "can't live without" elements. And while it's hard to be amazed anymore, the support team truly are amazing. Thanks, Dan.
