👋🏾 I'm Grace - I study Education Policy (Master's) at UCL and do lotsss of other things too, like work full-time in government. I'm passionate about access to education, the sociology of education and period poverty. I also love what psychologists have found in their research about time management - so I often yap about studies in this area, so that we can make the most of science-backed productivity tips!

omgg I loved everything about this video, you are a very charismatic communicator! Thanks for the tips, I'm a Brazilian (who works) who will be a freshman at college in two weeks. I loved.
Thank you so much! I'm wishing you the absolute bestttt at college - you're gonna smash it. Let me know how you get on. One of my fave tips is to change my environment frequently. You've got this! 👏🏾
I love your tips I've started revising before work and it's such a game changer. I feel just as tired as I would without any revision but much more accomplished. I can't wait to try your other tips like studying in a different location. Thank you for these videos. I really appreciate them 😊
Haha, I know right - we're gonna be tired at the end of the day anyway, so why not feel accomplished when that time comes too?! Love that for you. Yeah, one of my favouriteeee tips is to change my enviroment - let me know how it helps you, and where you decide to go! Interested to hear what environment you liked best 👀 Thank you for such a lovely comment, I'll continue to share my tips and tricks! ❤️
I occasionally use this and instead of delegating or deleting tasks, I set the urgent and important tasks to be my primary ones, the rest of the urgent tasks to be second, and important tasks to be my third focus etc. (If you find that you can delete tasks, you can go ahead. However, for me even non urgent and non-important tasks need to be completed for the most part so I set those tasks to be done last. For the most part I find that this just means that it takes more time, but it's still doable with my lifestyle.)
love the Eisenhower Matrix and I haven't been great at consistently using it. Your video did a great job explaining the how and why of this method and reminds me to put it to work! I don't want the important things to be so urgent that it feels like I'm putting out fires on the daily.
I'm so surprised you don't have at least 100× as many subscribers as you do! You're such a vibe and have such useful info to provide and amazing production quality (I can't put this on in the background because it's nice to watch 😅), I'm sure your channel will be huge soon :D I work a 9-5 in insurance and am also learning dance/singing/maybe acting and currently taking a software course, so thank you for these tips. (I'd love to learn many languages and figure skating and bake too but alas, haven't squeezed them in yet!) Do you schedule time for relaxation somewhere in your day? I had a really productive Monday this week but then just crashed a couple of days later :')
Firstly, thank you for such a lovely comment! That literally made me feel soo warm inside🥹🥰 Wow, that sounds exciting! At what time do you do your dance/singing classes and your software course? Sounds like a demanding week but I’m sure doing your dancing/singing classes in the evening will help to unwind, and doing your software course in the early morning would be a good idea as you’re most focused and alert. I schedule in rest on the weekends (I have a video coming out next week about this where I briefly discuss my ‘Celebration Saturdays’!) But I could deffo do a better job at scheduling rest during the work week. Typically it’s a 1hr walk in the day to unwind☺️
@@thegracemarie Ahhh thank you for the in depth reply too! You seem like such a lovely and wholesome person :D ❤️ Honestly, I have a little dance/singing practice scheduled into each evening and also a couple of hours each day of the weekend, but I end up missing them too often as the commute/work week/chores manage to take up a lot of my time and energy :( That's a good point about doing the software course in the early morning though! *opens laptop* I keep trying to tweak things to find a schedule that works, if I get a job where I can wfh more that should help too. Ooh I will watch out for your video next week, I like the idea of a whole day in the week to celebrate the rest of it! I'm thinking of scheduling half an hour one evening to light some tea lights and just look at them :P May I ask how long it takes you to edit your RU-vid videos? I'd like to dance on here a bit more when I'm better at it ☺️
Personalizing advice is also so important; you’re a 6-7hr sleep girl but I HAVE to get 9hrs a night to be productive with energy! So I make sure that happens.
Hey, yes, it's through the Eisenhower Matrix😊 The video can be watched here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wFw7UoNdnOE.htmlsi=860cyA1_c--vHA9V
Ah, I needed this! Thank you so much. I have been a lot more behind on tasks and project recently and it really is to over/underestimating how long things take me, especially things I've done before even though, in the back of my mind, I'm aware of all the hiccups that can occur. I really appreciate the margin of safety idea - just automatically allocating extra time to everything to accommodate for surprises.
It can be soo frustrating right?! It's comforting to know that it's an actual thing that most people do though! But yeah, definitely adding that margin of safety has helped me, let me know if it ends up helping you too x
I'd say around 1 hour from waking up to fully getting ready (to go uni etc.) And then if it's a night out to a club/bar, where I'll put on make up, that's an easy 2 hour window😂
30-45 minutes in the shower depending on if I'm shaving and how much I'm shaving, another 15-30 minutes to dry off, moisturize/skincare, get dressed. Varies wildly though depending on whether I'm in a rush or not.
Depends on the season. I have to do a lot of layering in the winter + eat more and take cooking more seriously. I need at least two hours after waking up to be by myself.
Girl, I fell in love with your content on a previous video (the busy tyrant's weekly schedule 😅) . No idea how or why, but your tips have their way straight to my brain! Keep doing what you do! Thank you so much for your advice!! 🥰
Not the busy tyrant's weekly schedule😂 aww thank you so much lovely. I'm soo happy to hear that you found the tips helpful... that's really warmed my heart! 🥹🥰
I notice and care about what other people do. Why should I assume others don’t? Why would I even want to believe that no one cares what I do. Why even do anything.
If I'm remembering correctly, Barry Manilow was big in the 1970s but his music was more soft pop/easy listening/adult contemporary. Kind of romantic but a bit cheesy. (I wasn't alive in the 1970s, I just know a lot about pop culture lol)
Hey Marie ! I loved this video . I work with entrepreneurs like you who have under 1k subscribers to help them to grow to 50k subscribers in under 12 months with proper systems . I actually helped Chirag to achieve 92k subscribers in under 11 months . Could I do a free audit to see if I can help you do the same ? I just think it's really important that more people see your content and want to help you on that mission .
Very useful tips for someone in their teens and 20s. I don't know if most can keep this up past their 30s though, but hopefully by then they'd have saved enough money to be able to take a break as needed.
@@autumnislovely Yep, I agree! My thinking is that it’s not a sustainable way of working at all - the goal isn’t to work like this forever. But whilst I’m young and in my 20s, I wanna take full advantage and set myself up well for my 30s and beyond😊
totally disagree, it’s not that difficult at all, you just don’t have discipline. she’s not asking you to run a marathon she’s just saying have a healthy lifestyle, don’t be distracted and organize your tasks well. how is that impossible for someone over 30?? i just don’t get it. you think people in their 30s are already senile? bfr
@@autumnislovely actually being a freelancer working all by myself i have experienced burnout and even trauma from workload 🙄🙄 so say it’s difficult to keep up for people with burnout not for people over 30. age is not related to burnout
Love these tips! So simple to understand. Having gut-health friendly foods in the morning makes such a difference to my productivity so I definitely agree with point 1 especially! 😆
I loveeee this ! This is what I’ve recently been keeping in a loop at all times in my mind to keep encouraging me to create content, literally no one cares so might as well just go for it 😭😭😭 Also you are soo beautiful and I aspire to edit this well and be as captivating 🥹
Girl, do it! Everyone's too occupied thinking about their next move to worry about yours! I've just checked out your channel, love that you're posting 🥳 And thank you very much, such a lovely comment! 🥹
The way you speak and your editing are excellent. You're doing incredible! I admire you and your grit. I like how you touched upon the idea that one size doesn't fit all. Breaking down urgency and importance is actually so helpful
