The ppl that do this competition are well-known singer's to begin with, and this was his first performance on it and literally made him famous overnight 🎉! @9:37, I've been following him since early 2017 and Idt I've heard this one, but what it sounds like to me is when ppl can have 2 voices come out at once. I just woke up and can't think of what it's called but they use it a lot in tribal throat singing and it's pretty incredible 🎉 I'm not positive which one it is but I believe it's called polyphonic singing. Diana Ankudinova also does this but differently of course 😉 I can't really tell if it is that or him doing the "traditional", "tribal" melismatic singing and the reverb is just up high? As another pointed out, Scott wrote this song with his partner Mark Manio. It was originally intended as a love song for the two of them getting each other thru the mess that was 2020, but the other group members heard it and talked Scott into rewriting it as a Christmas song for the new album. Each verse contains the lyrics Scott and Mark wrote to each other, but each performance of the chorus also has a different meaning, even thought the lyrics are the same. In the first chorus, Scott is thanking Mark for getting him thru the year. The second chorus is Scott thanking his bandmates for always being there for him. The third chorus, in which all the group members sing, is the entire group thanking all of their fans.
