Not seen in this video, but this is where a euphonist had trouble with a tube that fell out of her instrument and couldn't be put back on. She had it repaired after they returned to Kyoto.

Mama Ai, the ankle bandage you spotted was on a trumpeter. She and a trombonist were wearing one all day. The girl that twisted an ankle during the parade was a sousaphone player. After sitting out the rest of the parade, it appears she was able to finish the day without a bandage. When you watch the parade you can see strips of the road have pavement at slightly different levels. She stepped wrong on one of level changes.
I would like to watch more of your RU-vid stuff if it was reaction videos in the style of playing a song non-stop and then giving full feedback afterwards, without stopping in the middle of the song or giving feedback.
Hello Mama Ai, I'm reminded of the days, when my daughter was smaller than your daughter. It was my job during meal preparation time to play with her but mostly to keep her from snacking from our cat's food bowl. SHE WOULD DO that all the time. One day curiosity got me, and I did the taste test. Dry cat food is kind of bland. When the band lines to display their instruments, I shall list their names. The trumpet player Asuka (also known as " Aka ") recently just shortened her hair for the warm weather. From her profile she very much looks like Color Guard member Mitsuki. I do a double take on them now. The young lady holding the space age looking mostly black instrument with the golden horn bell and very similar looking to Fuuri's all golden soprano saxophone, is Susuka the flautist and piccolo player. She acquired that instrument in about September and has been learning to play it. It is a Yamaha YDS 150 (Yamaha digital saxophone) It is electronic. It can emulate more than 50 instrument sounds. She uses baritone saxophone quite often. Also, she uses flute, clarinet, alto saxophone. I saw a video where she and Yurumowa! of the white Sousaphone faced off. They sounded similar but Yurumowa! had a bigger sound. So, now for the list of O-VILS present this day. Starting at 9:15 l-r: Asuka (trumpet), Fuuri ( soprano & alto saxophone), Chippi (Keytar & Percussion), Kaori (trombone)- Kaori is special to me. She came to the O-VILS to dance with them. She is the first O-VILS trombonist to do so regardless of high school origin. Ms. Kaori is a graduate of Shimane Prefecture Commercial High School ( the Pink Devils). The O-VILS joined Shimane Prefecture Commercial High School for their 2023 December concert. Next is Yuina (nee) Mita, then Yurumowa! (Sousaphone), Color Guard member Honoka (for the first time she is playing a horn that I do no not know the name. It looks to be miniature euphonium),next is Susuka and her Yamaha YDS -150 multi-horn. The two full time Color Guard are Ayaka 115th Term (2018-2019) and Mie 107th Term (2010-2011). At the end of the second set and the end of the final song. Ms. Mie catches up to Yuina (nee)Mita and they hug each other. They are both Gold/Gold winners from 2008 & 2009. Yuina & Mie are the only two members of the 107th Term of the K.T. Band in the O-VILS. " Hey! "
Honoka is playing a baritone horn. It has the same note range as a euphonium, but has narrower tubing that is less conical so it has a "brighter" tone. Did you notice that Kaori's trombone is played using valves like a trumpet rather than a slide?

One of the sousaphones had to step out of formation for an injury and the police erred by splitting the band to let automobile traffic through them at a cross street.

I consider her t be the " Beni Ninagawa " of the traditional Korean instrument, the Gayageum . Fr many years Ms. Lee lived in South Korea. About six years ag, she toured the U.S. About two years later to marry her husband and they moved to Texas. Lucky us. Anyways, over the years, she has made hundreds of videos of many genres of music. Hi, Mama Ai. The band has 109 members this year, though 3 have been absent from recent shows. This was a full day for the band. Before this stage marching performance they played a sit-down concert in their black and white outfits. The club president is interviewed at the beginning of the video while the stage is being set for the concert. Also, after the stage marching they were joined by band members from others schools to play Kaze Ni Naritai at 57:24 in the same video. The woman consulting on the microphone placement at 29:45 is the marching coach Nanaho Shima, also known as "Mentapu", drummer from the 111th class of the KT band.

These five Gals smiled because they could hear the Masterpiece they were creating. It to me sounds better than the original. The fun part is none of them were in the same building. This music reminds me of the 115th Term Drum Major " Okazel " (clarinet), of the Kyoto Tachibana Band in 2018-2019. She is also known as " Yui " in the O-VILS Band. The Tachibana only played this song in their repertoire for just the 115th Term. The D.M. would largely have control of that playlist. The kids in black following are the first year students that just joined the band and need more training. Normally they wait until Brass Expo in May for their first parade. A few of the first years were deemed to be ready to march in the parade here. The song titles you were unsure of were "Show Me How You Burlesque" at 6:10 and "Can't Buy Me Love" at 8:00.

The O-VILS Entertainment Group has been busy since Christmas time. They gathered a squad and traveled to Shimane Prefecture to perform at two high schools that trained musicians that became O-VILS. The performances are similar but different because of the input of the high schools. Both concerts were very good. O-VILS have been busy in January, February, March and April. It is interesting in this gathering of Tachibana that 1/3rd of the musician gathered here have won a National Gold Award and 2/3rds have won two National Gold Award. Also, 1/3rd of these Tachibana has won three National Gold Award. Do those achievements instill confidence in the musicians which then manifests in the Band's sound? Hi Mama Ai. The music that you felt was from a cartoon was in fact a medley from an anime, "My Neighbor Totoro". This year the final concerts was expanded to three nights and tickets sold out in minutes. I watched all three nights live=streamed on the internet. One night they were joined by former band members, which you saw here. Another night they were joined by members of junior high school bands. The band is coming to America for a parade on January 1. I am hoping to be able to go see them.
