I understand. You don't like white people. Not even white freedom riders. Could your grandparents get on the bus??? As a teenager I tried as best I could.
Morgan State is proof positive, among others, that the HBCU is capable of fulfilling the academic needs of aspiring, bright young students of color but, like most colleges, would appreciate the support of wealthy Americans of color.
Education and the Pursuit of Happiness Receiving a world-ready education is one of the best possible ways to pursue happiness in today's spider's web-like, interconnected, interdependent, unequal, complex, complicated, and competitive world. This is what I am committed to working on through #Cosmoportism or my philosophy of international education and global competency. World language skills are central to this philosophy because, as the Austrian philosopher Ludwig stated, " The limits of my language mean the limits of my world" ("Die Grenzen meiner Sprache bedeuten die Grenzen meiner Welt," in German) Be happy.
During these difficult times we're living in due to Covid 19 and the killing of another black man (George Floyd) by the police, I am listening to this video to uplift my spirits, June 2, 2020. I am a 1979 graduate of Morgan State University. Living here in Washington, D.C. and seeing the looting and violence the last several nights, I needed to listen and watch this video. 😀😀
I earned my degree on that day and was fortunate enough to get a picture with her after her speech. I was really she was going to be the next president. I agreed then and still agree... it's time to change the rules!!
I love how she breaks down this complex convoluted financial system so everyone and understands and can relate to it. These are the qualities redeemers are made of. Go Elisabeth Warren!
Yes, tell those black graduates that the deck is stacked against them. Thats what they need to hear from a strong white and 1/1024 native woman. You tell em!
ivygod I disagree. As a white American I think she is very out of touch with the average American voter. Also as an Obama supporter, I think she is pandering to blacks and using you to keep the black vote on government assistance. The majority of her minority voters vote to keep the welfare programs and state handouts going. Most of America is tried of subszizing soooo much programs and we need major reform. Our government is stealing from people and giving the money to other people (including those 200k pensions) This is evil in my opinion. But y’all gonna vote for who u want to I guess. Just my thoughts. Your fellow American
She claims minority status when it suits and benefits her the rest of the time she is white. By the way she took a slot away from a REAL minority at Harvard.
that's what people you fail to understand, room for all can be made at the table, it needn't be an I can only rise if you fail situation, we're the ones with the big brains, surely we can figure this out to mutual satisfaction
What is the white woman wants to say now that she is no more a Cherokee? Does the new status of her race goint to bring her more advancement than when she was the preferred Native American.
The only thing a Democrat can claim is inequality inherent in the system. Balck vs white, rich vs poor, illegal vs legal....... Did anyone watch POTUS sign the opportunity zone executive order? That is a true leader talking about unity, positively, and equality.
I too have some native American in me but, you wouldn't know it by my looks, no one is as pure in blood as they might like to believe themselves to be, try shaking the branches on your family tree & see who falls out, you might be in for some shock & surprise
I love this song. Whenever I get depressed, I listen to this song. A neighbor and friend for over 30 years died January 24, 2017, and a Morgan classmate died November 2015. Today I passed the cemetery they are both buried in and I became sad. I thought about my mother who passed away suddenly Christmas Eve 2013, the day before her 81st birthday. I start to think about this song. Morgan class of 1979
