Like many, I love the latest eyeshadow palette release and sometimes do purchase new palettes but I love even more shopping my stash to dupe the vibe. There is nothing like shopping your stash and remind yourselves of the amazing makeup waiting to be loved all over again. I’m a project panner, eyeshadow enthusiast and do my best to be a conscious consumer. Pull up a seat, grab a drink and let’s fall back in love with the makeup we already own.
Thanks for the video! I didn't want to spend $69 on a palette with a lot of shimmers I wouldn't use much. Like you, my lifestyle doesn't really have occasions where a lot of shininess is appropriate. However, a $24 palette with less shiny shimmers is easier to justify to myself. Especially since my birthday is coming up! I appreciated the suggestions of Colourpop palettes with a similar aesthetic.
Hadn’t thought to mix Of Quartz with Troublemaker but makes perfect sense. I usually pull those as “winter” neutrals because that’s when I’m in the mood for cooler toned palettes. In fall and summer I lean into the warmer tones but will give those a try.
I also usually go with cooler toned shadows in the fall and winter and warmer tones in the spring and summer. It's just a habit that saves me from having to decide what to use. But sometimes I break out of that and wear whatever colors I feel like, or colors that go with what I'm wearing. Also, it's fun getting out my cooler or warmer tones when the season changes. It's almost like having new makeup!
I prefer the AE layout but its not in the same ballpark as Huda's quality. I love how you can sheer out Huda's mattes and it looks like yiu hsed more than one shadow. All these other creators saying that AE is as good or even superuor are full of BS.
Thanks for saying that we don’t have to use your code. I personally would like to use your codes if I had the chance and it was the biggest discount I could get. But I’m glad you don’t pressure people to use yours. I would use yours because I watch your channel a lot and you have integrity and are cordial with subscribers. I don’t really want to use a certain person’s code because I have seen them snap and get sarcastic multiple times with subscribers when the subscribers didn’t even say anything offensive. It was genuine questions about the product application and quality. I could understand if it was an insult or rude remark because they have the right to defend themselves, but these were not those kinds of comments. I still watch them once in a blue moon but I’m not subscribed. I hesitate to comment anything because I don’t want them to get mad at me and write back in all capps for no reason. 😂
I far prefer their arrangement of shades over Natasha Denona and Huda. Brands mix around the shades to make palettes appear something they are not instead of giving you a helpful layout
I wish we could easily get them in the UK. I really don't like Hudas formula and I owned 18 of her palettes at one point... Like a fool kept buying because everyone said it was great and I kept hating it 😂
The packaging is so pretty! I got the Huda palette for 50% off on Labor Day weekend. Those palettes go on sale pretty often in case anyone wants to buy the Huda one but doesn’t want to pay full price.
That’s my point. Luxury as well as high end brands charge a lot for a heavy palette and yet alter ego can provide the same for a fraction of the cost. 😁 for my packaging doesn’t make me buy things. I rarely fall for packaging but some do enjoy that.
We had a house in our neighborhood start being rented out and it caused a neighborhood rat problem because there was so much garbage left in the yard and the house was completely trashed, it seemed like they were selling drugs out of it too because there was a constant stream of cars coming and going. One of the people living there would have episodes where he was having fights with himself in the back yard. 😑 They had a bullseye target on the fence and would throw knives at it (that part of the fence joined to our yard, so we found multiple throwing knives in our yard that i guess missed the target and flew over the fence). Then we started getting arrows from a bow and arrow coming over the fence and one day our dog came trotting over carrying an adult toy 😱🤮 that had been thrown over the fence. And we had to turn in multiple times for abandoned vehicles and RV's being dumped in front of our house that were clearly from their property. Fortunately they finally got evicted because the HOA started fining the homeowner $50 per day for it being a health hazard to the neighborhood. There were different companies working on repairs to the house for over a year before it was fixed enough to be rented out again. Now there are new weirdos there, but they aren't as bad so I'll take that as a small victory lol. Homes being rented instead of lived in by the owner can definitely effect the vibe and the value of all the other homes in the neighborhood. We really keep to ourselves because we don't want to people to know us who might be dealing drugs etc. I never expected those problems because the homes in our neighborhood are selling from $650-$800k now, so I don't even know how these people are getting in here. I hope you guys get someone good in there!💚

By the way, I cut up a hot pepper, not knowing it was hot, I went to the bathroom and when I wiped is when I realized it was a hot pepper. 😱

This project is helping you narrow the formulas that you like too, not just the colors, great job Alejandra! I used to hoard basically the same colors too, just in fear of running out, but i just realized that I prefer having a smaller collection and actually focus on panning that loved shade rather than have ten of very similar things and still not using them because they are patchy, not pigmentged enough or get into my eyes (I just decluttered some special shades for this, they get too easily in my eyes, screw them, I want to see X'D).
De un tiempo para acá ya no uso tanto color en mis ojos, te entiendo, prefiero usar en la ropa, también ya aprendí que no todos los colores en los ojos se me ven bien. Si quieres usar color en tu eyelook pueded combinarlo con ropa neutra talvez adquirir una playera o blusa negra o neutra o un vestido en esos colores y um maquillaje fullcolor se ve genial asi como ropa full color y maquillaje neutro . I panned my orange holo nail polish! Yay me XD Now I can return rotating my nail colors, I don't think I have other 'old' nail polishes which require a fast panning. :)
This reminded me that I hardly ever use my Norvina palettes although I love them 😅😅I need to reorganise my storage to keep them easily accessible. I also own the Too Faced jam palette. It's real cute
I loved this video and you are so right. I tend to gravitate to neutrals too and because of project panning I force myself to use my colorful shadows. Great work!
i was gonna suggest something like that. could be cool to get a chance to use the shades that are a little more atypical but not have to full commit to it
