Hello and welcome, to this my tiny, insignificant, infinitesimally small corner of the internet. I have no idea how you might have managed to find your way here, but I'm glad you did.

My name is GehenenTheFool. To put it simply, I love stories, I also happen to enjoy thinking and talking about them. So, as that is the case, I have decided to create a RU-vid channel. I figured that rather then talking about stories by myself (to myself), I could instead talk to you, and provide a space where, together, we can share our unsolicited opinion's about stories (primarily Anime, Series, and Movies).

Hopefully, now that you have found your way here, you might find something you can enjoy.

Sincerely
GehenenTheFool

Great video bro. I didn't expect this kind of quality from a growing channel. The editing shocked me by how good it is. Your voice is great, and the audio quality is awesome. But as a someone who's learning English (by listening to youtube), I would appreciate the subtitles, and if not for learning, I still appreciate it cuz my eyes need something to read subconsciously.

The anime isn't as bad but the story was so rushed and altered that nothing really makes sense anymore, especially on season 2 most of the events happen in the manga but they made it in a way it's so confusing and that makes season 3 even more confusing since season 2 didn't follow the manga and season 3 did, but still season 3 skips a lot of important things. By reading the manga i believe you'll be able to understand tokyo ghoul and love it.

Tokyo Ghoul Re, in the manga, made me fall in love with the ghoul/human inspectors. Their stories were well thought out, and I could feel their pain and frustrations while reading. In the anime their back stories, and character arcs aren’t even included or so rushed that you don’t care about them. It was a disappointment. Really good video btw!

Please try the manga, im not a big anime or manga fan in general but this is a must, Tokyo Ghoul and Re are the only manga i have read and finished, currently giving choujin x (also by Sui Ishida)a shot now as i only found out about this recently. Root A the second season is a anime original and strays from the story in the manga in some complex ways whilst still trying to include some fights and events that do happen in the manga. I caved in and read the manga after the third episode of RE came out because I was beyond confused years ago. Also the re anime is incredibly rushed and the amount of content they rushed, skipped, changed and crammed is ridiculous so it's not fun to follow. The anime is very frustrating and Tokyo Ghoul deserves a better adaptation

I have to disagree with you due to your verious points that are invalid. The reason is as follows 1) Kirito never ment to be hero( and that's what makes him a true hero), and I dare to say to you that kirito is the most realistic character ever portrayed and is beyond hero myth. Now what I meant by 'Kirito never ment to be hero" .? What I mean is will be clear through this small review. Kazuito Kirigaya lost his biological parents who died in an accident, after he was born on October 7, 2008 and adopted by his aunt and uncle without his knowledge and was raised with his cousin together as siblings as Kazuito Kirigaya being elder brother and suguha being his little sister, Kazuto was originally forced to train with his cousin in the neighborhood kendo dojo; however due to kirito has intrest in technology which which developed by his aunt's influence as an editor for a computer systems magazine, Kazuto became more interested in computers and dropped kendo after two years. This decision earned him a heavy beating from his grandfather, prompting Suguha to defend him by promising to practice enough for both of them. Kazuto became more interested in computers and made himself to immerse himself in technology which resulted him creating his own PC at the age of 8 (which is not impossible) and through his Love and immersion and with computer he mastered the computer by exploration and with his curiosity he discovered the truth about his family through, erased Juki Net, at the age of 10, Kazuto discovered that he was adopted from records and since then unintentionally began distancing himself from Suguha. And this distancing himself with his family and the truth which is hard to Swallow and with his insecurities prompted by the truth questioning his belonging and his role droves him to the Gaming World which given him a sense belonging and a sense of peace which triggered him to give his 100% to the gaming world which again resulted him gaining experience and knowledge beyond an average player due to his passion and addiction to games dedicating himself towards hours of gaming at the age of 13- 14 now this is the story of an avarage teenager who gone through bizzer experience which are not uncommon in real life nor any other way arround, he is your avarage typical teenager who is struggling to cope with his mixed-emotions which was generated by knowing the truth in his own way nothing special, while enjoying the world of gaming he got an opportunity to be a beta tester of the new gen VRMMORPG Sword Art Online apon which Kazuto gladly accepts as any typical teenager would do and played the beta and with his gaming skills he reached top floors before the end of the beta test. Upto now we were shown a typical teenager who was with a struggling seriation which drew him to the world of Gaming in a sense he was escaping his problems Through Gaming, and through the immersion of gaming at cost of loosing or failed to have social & Communication skills which made him struggle communicating with his peers leaving him lone wolf. But at beginning of the SAO official launch, and during the launch we get to see that this game is not an odenerary game which made kirito a 13-14 years typical teenager to be forced in a situation of life and death and later servival of the fitest (namely due to orange and Red players and LaughCof) with his skills, knowledge, experience which he gained through his gaming life and his perior knowledge and experience in Beta now he has to servive (the key point of this show) and he has to to gain more exp, respources, equipments, wep, Wexp, etc he has to level up, and he can leavel up by questing and defeating monsters, now no way to servive he has to grind his teeth and fight. Well going through all these experiencing lot's of things leaning a lot's of things through out his journey he had to take though decisions at the age of 13 to 16 which is one of it being taking all the hates, blames, targeting, Responsibilities, and Regrets (throughout Betar phase & loosing some of people of his own camarades, & making mistake/taking a wrong decision which caused others death, to killing and taking lifes of the people like LaughCaugh) and moving farword being just a teenager between 14-16 it puts a lot's of strean on both emotions and brain and it also triggers depression with low self-esteem even though he tries to move forward the scares that left in his heart and the turmas that he carries doesn't fade away that easily especially when it's repeats itself again During GGO kirito is completely broken cause of confrontation of his past turmas and “accepting and overcoming it”, ”putting his own needs aside for the sake of others”(is Indeed nobelish and Heroic But this is not what kirito ment for), and “this GGO series doesn't have it” (and I agree with that) because it's intention isn't that, as I said kirito never ment to be a hero he ment to be a normal typical tennager who gone through and experienced a lot of intens experience and setuations which forced him to become Who is was and he is now currently through what he was gone through which determines what will he will be and moving farword despite his weakness and flaws (as he is not God and is an avarage human teenager with full of flaws and mistakes like us viewers, despite his achievements, this the perfect example of kirito not being too OP as some of the SAO haters claims to be and points out and perfectly balanced character which goes beyond the hero myth and another reason why SAO is a Masterpiece and Reki sensai is genius) he is not a hero, he is avarage human teenager (which makes him true and practical protoganest and legendary hero that is beyond typical hero myth) if I have to name his title it would be The world's greatest false hero (because he defies typical boring hero Clichés) which makes him unique and appealing • His powers and strengths comes with a great price (which he gained through going a lot and had to lose someone, had to suffer in oder to gain what he has). • His powers and strengths has a great responsibilits (I don't need to specify anything as you yourself know) • His powers and strengths are balanced (as I mentioned earlier how his powers and weakness, Perfection and flaws are balanced) • His powers and strengths are triggered by love (we can see Kirito's romantic relationship with Asuna gives Kirito unfathomable willpower which results in a great outburst of power) • His powers and strengths are not gifted (this is one of the key points to remember, he doesn't gained his powers and strengths overnight, his powers and strengths are the results and proofs of his dedication, passion,and experiences and skills he gained throughout his childhood including the kendo training) • His powers and strengths comes from the Bond he forged (his powers and strengths are not of his own only but it's of his entire friends, Comrades, Family, and experiences, memories and Journey he shared with everyone together). Kirito is undoubtedly The best realistic character ever created.

First, please allow me to say this. Thank you for the comment. It must have taken quite a while to write. I really appreciate it. Now, to its contents. While I understand your point, I disagree. I think we have something of a fumdamental disagreement regarding the nature of a hero story is. I will not be able to go into any great detail in a comment, but I will say this. Kirito does not have to be trying to be a hero in order to be a hero. A hero is a hero because of what he does, and I believe it would be difficult to argue that Kirito is not a hero. I do not have a problem with his hero story because he is OP, nor do I have a problem with him being a hero. I have a problem with how the myth is completed. It simply is not executed well. At least that is my opinion. Thanks again for the comment. I hope you enjoyed the video, even if you did not agree.

While nuanced character development is great, what truly sets Kirito apart from other protagonists? While one could argue the character development alone is enough to set him apart, there is another aspect of his character that I find fascinating when comparing him to other characters. While he clearly isn’t your typical self-insert character, he manages to subvert the idea of self-insert characters. Self-insert characters are characters made to give the viewer a form of wish-fulfillment by inserting yourself (typically into a bland slate), and giving you the same feeling of accomplishment and heroism the character does. There are various forms of this and ways to do it, and SAO very well could have been that if the writer wanted to. Suffering alone isn’t enough to write off a self-insert, and it would be foolish to use that as an argument. The idea that Kirito isn’t a wish-fulfillment solely because he suffers feels disingenuous and ignores what really makes him stand out. A self-insert can struggle as long as the pay-off is one that reeks of self-satisfaction and gratification out of receiving a type of reward, whether it be tangible rewards, or ones that inflate one’s ego or sense of self-importance. Kirito subverts this idea entirely. With all of Kirito’s accomplishments, he very well could be a self-insert. Being SAO’s strongest player, beating the game, saving his girlfriend, and overcoming many other obstacles. On its own, all of these accomplishments very easily give the impression of a self-insert, but in context, they do they opposite. There is no real sense of gratification with Kirito because he denies that feeling himself. Instead of a sense of heroism from saving thousands of lives, he feels guilt over the thousands he failed to save, which shows a lingering sense of that personal responsibility, which, while more subdued over time, never truly goes away. This idea is even brought up in the Phantom Bullet arc. He feels guilt over those he failed to save. He feels guilt for killing Laughing Coffin despite saving many other players. Instead of taking credit for his accomplishments, he downplays them and even denies them outright. He doesn’t feel he has earned any tangible rewards, nor does he have any sense of heroism. While it could be seen as humble, it’s very self-depreciating, and personally he probably should take a bit more credit. When in the hospital for his Gun Gale Online investigation, the doctor Aki tells him to think about those he saved instead of the ones that he killed or failed to save. It’s for this very reason that I titled this blog “A False Hero”. While from an audience’s perspective, it’s fair to consider Kirito a hero, he doesn’t see himself the same way. He is subverting the whole point of self-insert characters by downplaying the sense of accomplishment the audience typically feels when the hero accomplishes something. While he was a dork who isolated himself in the beginning, he grew in a young man who understands the importance of forming connections with others, which has an immensely positive impact on his life. He has also become a more driven person. Instead of living his life aimlessly, he strives to become a creator. While he initially played VR to escape from the real world, he understands it’s merits as an extension of the real world and hopes to creative innovative technology that will have a positive impact on people’s lives. He becomes interested in mechatronics so Yui can experience the real world more freely and even helps Yuuki Konno interact with the real world she was away from for so long. Source: daze3x.wordpress.com/2020/05/09/kazuto-kirigaya-a-false-hero/ He posted what I trying to convey, Ironically he also titled his own with the false hero as I had.

The anime tends to cut down a lot of context and content that greatly characterizes all of the characters in SAO from the Light Novel. Now, it’s a fair argument that not every anime fan should just book it towards the source material every time, but if we are to see Kirito at his full well-rounded nature, I do recommend taking the source material into account, as we actually see Kirito’s thought process a lot and show what type of person he really is. Kirito’s character stretches across many volumes (some not even translated yet) and it really just shows that he’s much more than just the hero archetype. I think one of the most interesting allures about him is the fact that he really hates the role of the hero, ironically enough. The anime kind of shows signs of this, but the inner monologues Kirito has within context with the light novels show that he feels he’s not worthy of anything like what a hero’s journey would entail. I do appreciate this video for what it is, but the anime barely cracked the surface on what type of characters these ones are.

@@GehenenTheFool Oh don’t worry, it’s fine. Again, it’s understandable that not every anime fan would want (or really have to) go read the source material, but SAO unfortunately also a victim of having an anime studio that doesn’t do the source material justice with it’s adaptation whenever it needs it most, that’s all. Even fans of SAO who do their homework know that the anime doesn’t do it Justice. But all we can really do is recommend you the source material, that’s all. Because the Light Novels are much better than the anime in regards to inner monologues, character writing, and you can generally understand characters better.

Well... I think you get Kirito's failing hero thing wrong. The hero mith it's been just told in season 1. No need to repeat this. The thing that they tell us now, it's that no one is necessarily forced to be alone when confronting with bad things. Heroes need friends and allies. As do we need them. Yes, Kirito is a broken man, in more than a way. If we have endured what he have endured, maybe we'll be in that chair where potatoKirito was sitting during Underwar Arc... What drew me in the first time I watched SAO were the music and the fight scenes. The animation is also top notch. Is the series perfect? Absolutely not. The first part of season 1 has pacing issues where it time skips a lot. We’re also lead to believe that Kirrito can become stronger than someone that’s in a party/guild all by himself. The second part of season 1 takes a strong character like Asuna and turns her into a damsel in distress. The less we say about the incestuous relationship and that tentical hentai monster the better.

Tbh, Kirito not being OP should be a positive considering how a lot of people who hate the show usually complain that he's OP. It's true that he overcomes the odds multiple times throughout the times, but most of the time he had his friends/allies giving him the extra push to prevail. Hell, in FD, he got helped from his sister & others in order to reach Asuna. Then, he had help from Kayaba dealing with Oberon. It's fine if Kirito gets help from his friends now & then; which is what I believe the ongoing lesson that the author's trying to teach. Btw, that's unbelievable that SAO's still the 5th most popular anime according to MAL. Especially with all the hate it gets.

@@GehenenTheFool Yeah, those moments with PoH & Gabriel were kind of ridiculous. PoH I can kind of understand because Kirito wasn't completely recovered when they were "arm wrestling", but when they actually fought, the fight became anti-climatic because of how short it was. And they probably made the Gabriel fight a little bit more interesting with Kirito missing the final hit, but everyone knew that he was going to win. But I agree with you when I saw that Minotaur clip. Stuff like that works in shounens or video games. And despite the SAO characters fighting in VR worlds, seeing the villain powering up while the hero screws up or failing isn't great writing. It also kind of drags the plot a little too.

Kirito isn't OP because of cheats or shit he's OP because he has more information than anyone else most of the time. In SAO he's a beta tester in ALO he's a former SAO player in GGO he has years of experience in VR that he can literally dodge bullets and the UNDERWORLD is literally just SAO with Magic and Special attacks. And all of these games are made in the same engine meaning that the experience is literally the same. There are a lot of better playes than Kirito it's just that he always has the upper hand because he has better info or some random shit. If you put him in an even playing field like with Yuki he's getting beaten up 90% of the time. Kirito ain't a Hero he's just a random dude that so happens to be ahead 90% of other players.

There is also another thing to consider. Being a hero is not a title that once you've obtained it, its forever yours, no. A hero is the personification of heroism. Overcoming great challenges isn't the only thing that makes a hero. The key element of heroism is courage and overcoming the fear of failure. Apart from that, SAO treats all the side characters like tools or trophies for Kirito. Up until now, I'm still unclear what the archetypical role each side character has in the story, which usually branch out to their personal struggles and then personal growth. When we look at other successful stories/anime, we see that a hero's growth is not limited to overcoming challenges alone. There are many aspects of struggle SAO can focus on that Kirito has to overcome. Say for example, other than simply more power, he could probably improve his communication skill, after noticing how he was so used to doing things alone now suddenly with companions

I never understood the hype about sao. The series has serious flaws, but maybe it was really appealing to ppl who werent familiar with anime yet. But im still thankful for sao because it blessed us with great songs and animations

For what i know they lived together but are not really brother and sister... the thing that disturbed me in that arc it's the fanservice with Asuna, (tentacle things) and keeping Asuna in prison almost powerless...

well to be fair, Kirito never saw himself as a hero and it is really good that he cant face everything alone. Also it was really good aswell that he was put a side in the Mothers Rosario arc to give other character the spot light. The Sao community need to learn and must understand that Kirito is not OP or unbeatble and that is good how it is.

this is painfully true... SAO is my fav anime that would always in my heart and I dont want to admit it, but I have to... even in war of underworld part 2 when Kirito wakes up, he need Eugeo to move forward and defeat the enemy... well, the story of SAO is not over yet so lets pray that in the end of the series, he can stand on his own feet and become the hero he supposed to be.

Unfortunately, there's a theory that's been going on for a few years now; which will likely connect SAO to be another one of the author's series, Accel World. Basically, AW mentions how a war happened prior to that series, but the war helped create the VR world in AW. To put it short, fans are theorizing that Kirito beats the villain during the war, but he fails to save a imprisoned Alice, & all his comrades get killed by 4 god monsters; which basically turns the Underworld as the final stage for a future game in AW.
@GehenenTheFool
@GehenenTheFool 2 месяца назад
I didn't know that. I enjoyed Accel World for what it was but that theory does indeed seem odd.
@Samsapopin
@Samsapopin 2 месяца назад
@@GehenenTheFool Atm, it's just a theory that the fans made. No confirmations from the author yet, but some of the recent AW volumes mentioned that war and there's even an illustration of the climax from the war and 1 character looks a lot like Kirito & there's a glowing girl that looks like Alice.

The buffet problem is clearly showing the monsters, they should have kept them in the darkness as looking threats that you hide, not run, from. If you can outrun something it isn't scary.
