I remember being SO hungover, walking into the crowd, and running into my friend/former roommate, Brad, still having half a gallon bag of pre-rolled joints… just lighting up and throwing… best fucking set!
This makes me not want to have long hair anymore. And wtf is up with the bass, dude can’t even reach half the frets. As a guitarist that wears my guitar low and has pretty long hair, they ruined it for me. Led Zeppelin started it, and they ruined it lmao
I just cant get over this band, all these years they remain my favorite thing to listen to, and I always return to them. What a huge loss. Selim truly was a transient being.
I like to imagine this scenario when the bassist was getting that strap. Do you have any longer straps for bass guitars? Yes we do, is this one to your staisfaction? I need longer. Okay, let me check one more time... Here we go, this is about as long as they come! I need longer. But sir, they don't make them any lon... I said. I. Need. Longer. Sir, This is the longest bass starp that has ever been created, you will be draging it on the floor if they were longer. I NEEED LONGER! MORE STRAP!! MOOORE!!! LONGERRRRR!!!
@fritzkuhne2055 yeah, damn! I was near the front, stage-left, super drunk & being pressed by the crowd into the chain-link that was probably keeping technicians & VIPs safe from our collective madness, and it was so So SO loud in the most beautiful way - they were brilliant and very well received, it was bizarre seeing them back in Seattle a couple weeks into their tour (that I'm sure started on the East Coast, Japanese bands tend to either start or end their roots in Seattle for obvious reasons) they played a little metal-friendly rock club and it was quite far from packed, no where near sold out, but at least everyone there appreciated them (the back quarter- or more - of even the greatest fest crowd are typically angry-foot/wristwatch-tapping naysayers who at MDF were prob looking for something a lil faster or more traditional hahaha)
Huge Matt Pike fan…I recently saw his cameos in a couple of Red Fang videos, both of which were absolutely hysterical. It’s nice to see a musician that doesn’t take himself too seriously and think he is the greatest thing on planet Earth since sliced bread…lol. That said, his style of playing inspired me to pick the guitar up again after not playing for years when I first got clean. I can’t even describe what not only his playing, but his approach to music itself has done for me…thanks Mr. Pike!
First, a bottle of Jack (straight), then what looks to be a Schlitz Blue Bull, and then a bottle of wine…all in the first song…I feel sorry for this guy’s liver…
