❤❤❤❤omg this is such a cute thank you gift for friends And family. This would also make the cutest bday or Valentine's for a bf/ husband....the occasions are endless. The best part is it's handmade plus the amount of time it would take to customize and make these makes them a must for my next the next person I wish to celebrate And give this too.
I enjoyed your video and the simple and quick methods used. I especially liked your technique on the four corners and the half circle cut. I can’t wait to try this. I have been thinking about putting text in the folding concertina book and wonder if you have any suggestions for the layout formulas and/or a favorite app. Thank you again.
How come there is no "save" option? Is that your decision or RU-vid's? I would love to save this video to my "Collage" playlist, where I turn for inspiration and technical help.
bob pollard of guided by voices brought me here! he makes some amazing collage. I just got home from the thrift store with a ton of a great imagery. Just need some paper and some glue now. Thanks for the video :D
Love it inspirational to start my mojo which has gone walkies for a while. Do you take your scissors for a 'walk' to get those lovely shapes? Thank you for sharing. From Oz in wonderful rain.
👍Thanks for sharing materials you use for advancing in collage. This is cool to know all the different glues & papers you could use for example. I Love your collage style. ❤🤩🤩 I’m a collage artist too. On my channel I go over how to get started with just an acid-free glue stick, free magazines, & scissors. ✂️ For the beginners out there don’t get overwhelmed by all the types of materials you could use, you probably have most of what you need to get started. Keep it simple & have fun exploring. ❤🎨
Thanks for the video Lydia, composition is my nemesis, I have beautiful papers that I have made or found but I have a total blockage when it comes to assembly, putting it all together. I feel I am missing something, maybe it’s design or intuition, I don’t know, it’s just stymies me. Is this something that you teach in your workshops and community?
I teach composition in my courses as well as in my membership group. And we have a monthly live Q&A session in the membership group where you can get feedback 😉
Ooh, I like to use the small papers too, but I never thought to use a view finder. This will add more interest to what I've been doing. Also, never tried the monchromatic. Can't wait to try it out.
Hi Lydia...thank you! Question- do you just use paint colors that you are drawn to or do you have a primary palette you usually draw from when selecting and mixing colors? How do you create harmonious color in your collages? Do you work intuitively with color?
So helpful! I love brown! What brand of gel medium are you using that is in a tube not a jar? Seems so much easier to apply that way with the silicone shaper!
I find the raw line work very exciting. Do you use water soluble materials in your collage work and if so, how do you apply it when collaging to avoid reactivating the marks? Or maybe you don’t mind the reactivation?
Great video! I've always wanted to try collage, but one thing has kept me from pursuing it -- the fact that magazine print photos are not colorfast. They were never intended to be exposed to light for long periods of time. I suspect they'll probably fade very quickly if exposed to light in an artwork that's wall mounted. What are your thoughts about this issue and how can I get around it?

@@LydiaRinkArt Thanks for the info, Lydia. I'd love to do the 100-Day Project but I am not able to join the Art & Inspiration Community at this time. Best wishes with both the project and the community. It looks like a most enjoyable way to learn more about collage and mixed media.
