I recently decided to watch Vandread, forgetting that for as silly as the premise started, immediately you're hit with the kind of pain that would push anyone to wish for a different outcome with some very real scenarios that forge us into kinder, stronger people. So when I re-experienced what Bart did to honor Shirley's memory I couldn't help but cry just as long as I did the first time I experienced this anime when I was younger. But even now I still wish she could've been saved.
