I feel exactly the same way! I've generally discovered new anime because it's related to a previous one that I've seen, meaning that I've only watched a very limited and homogenous set of anime. And since I moved to Japan I've hardly watched any, which is not how I expected things to turn out. So I guess we're both anime nubs :)
Cool! Yes, violence and personality disorders always go down well. The OP was from Durarara!, which has a fantastic opening but a little too similar to Baccano! (from the same studio/director I believe) for me to include. Too bad it's no longer available, I guess copyright violations are responsible for that (my 'top 12 anime endings' video has been banned worldwide for the same reason unfortunately).
God....lists like these make me realise how little anime I've watched lol. Even though I've watched a lot there's just way to much out there and I still think I'm a anime nub

I'd say so. Attack on titan is very popular atm, pretty action packed. Guilty Crown was good too, and also has action as well as sadness! Between the two, Titan wins so far :)
Nice lists! Good to see Clannad and Elfen Lied. (Personally I love "Attack on titan" and "Guilty crown" second opening too). Gah now that you've reminded me of Clannad again....xD
