Boston set a standard that was unheard of back in the 70s. The timing was magical, their sound was awesome, radio stations loved it , record stores couldn’t get enough of it!

Their live show in Detroit was one of the best concerts i ever had the pleasure of seeing . I literally got invited an hour before the show and almost didn't go. It truly was awesome!❤🤘👍
most engineers i've met or known are very narrow-minded people, who have a hard time seeing the world outside of their engineering prism, but they are the best when it comes to sound tech and everything related. having one in or around a band gives that band enormous advantage.
I would have to read the book again but I am pretty sure in Slash's book he says he used to play that intro as a warm up exercise and never thought of it as a song. The rest is somewhat true. One day as Slash was playing the riff Izzy started playing chords over it which created the sound that Axl liked and wrote lyrics to go with it. What they also say is that once they got to the end they didn't know how to end the song. Axl started singing to himself "where do we go now" meaning where do they go with the song to end it. Izzy again started playing chords over Axl and that is how they came up with the end of the song. So basically one of their biggest song and the song that put them on the charts and started them on the way to worldwide fame came together pretty much by accident from start to finish.
Great memories, I saw Boston in 1978, Sammy Hagar opened for them! It was after Sammy had left Montrose and obviously before Van Halen. One of the absolute best concerts I've seen. After Sammy kicking ass, Boston blew everyone away...absolutely incredible!!
