Came across this. After watching a Hairy Bikers❤ episode BBC, I North Yorkshire I never knew a smoked kipper was herring .Was looking how to cook and de bone.a fresh herring.Yours was by far the best and easieston RU-vid.Thank you.Hope you are staying healthyand blessed 2022.. 🙏
Great job , i know what to do with herring now . i love rollmops but expensive here in the shops in oz. ill be making my own from now on , all the best for the new year and have a lovely Christmas of 2020.
hmmm dont fancy that, they look more stewed than fried. i much prefer hard high heat on a griddle pan so the fish sits just off the sludge that gathers in the cookin. dont crowd the pan and max 2mins each side. cleaner flavour all round
The biggest obstacle to gaining proficiency in green woodworking is that people give up too easily. This is hard work to get started with so the results are usually not all that good at first.
Kippers are the life and blood of this earth!, I like to follow my great uncles method of torching a block of cheese above the kippers with a butane lighter. Good cookin Cal!
Make me hungry just watching. I'm cooking some tomorrow. Fish bone is loaded with calcium. I won't throw it away, I chew my fish bone until as fine as possible.
Never had kippers. This breakfast looked so good I must find kippers in LA which I'm sure I can somewhere. I just don't get all the milk & cream in the eggs mate. I love butter, pepper, salt & some fresh tomato on the side, cause I like my eggs eggy & more on the very soft side.
I also like my eggs very soft and moist, which is why you add a bit of milk. It doesn't make them taste less eggy, but does keep them moist so you don't get the rubbery hard scrambled eggs ;?)
This is good! Breakfast is my favorite meal and Britain is my favorite place to have it. If I can find kippers here in Boston, MA I am going to make this for myself. Thanks.
We really appreciate your clear enthusiastic and well-explained video. My wife prepared a meal of herring & mashed potatoes last night. Very enjoyable and inexpensive - even here in the USA (Philadelphia). All to best to you & your family!
Good stuff mate. Been out tonight and had a great herring session. I kept 8 decent sized ones and have de scaled and gutted them, left them in a sugar and salt brine for a day or so then will get them on the cooker. Never caught them before so looking forward to cooking them like you have.
