What a bautifully restored and maintained bus; lovely engine sound AND no extraneous passenger chatter to spoil our enjoyment. Many thanks, this is a ride to remember!
A781 TYO, potentially the last surviving A-reg Dennis SS of the London Fire Brigade. Sad, considering there were 67 of them. A few Y-reg survive, I believe. 781 is unique, mind not just as she had a siren due to being picked out for a trial, but also being Stn. Officer Colin Townsley's appliance on the night of the King's Cross fire where he sadly lost his life.
Really had a characteristc chug to it, very Routemaster! The Leyland 0600 was very throaty too, had a sort of bassy sound that was always music to my ears, and when it pulled away had that whining sound from the gear box. They don't sound like that now.
My grandad was a driver for BOAC from 1946 until his retirement in 1971. There was a BOAC terminal at Victoria, from where passengers were transferred by buses like these to Heathrow. Grandad must have driven this one.
I watched this episode, the following morning after ‘Time on our Hands’ aired on Sunday 29th December, 1996. I can remember that while I was watching this episode, thinking it was amazing how much Only Fools and Horses changed and evolved over fifteen years. These early episodes was where Only Fools and Horses started.
Crazy how Harry got not money from the government. How can we expect him to survive if he doesn’t vote Biden. Ugh crazy, government should pay for everything
I suggest playing that on your computer and screen capturing it, so it's easier to see. That's how I do it. Just a friendly suggestion, no offense meant 🙂...I'm also a Harry Potter fan, too.
Used to be a H30 up at the airport in the late 90s run by Nat Ex From Hatton Cross to Heathrow Via T4 and the Cargo Village. Rout the outer primates Road. T5 had not opened yet
My favourite loco. There is Robert. One of the oldest ones. It's too small and underpowered for the extended railway and the loadings so it isn't out much
Great clip of some fine old beauties. Lovely two-tones too. But what’s with the ridiculous descriptions??? The first two were Pump Escapes, the third was a Pump Ladder, and the fourth was a Pump. Not one of them was a Fire Engine Appliance Truck.... Fire engines? Yes. Appliances? Yes, but not one of them is a truck. They are not American, and Feltham is not in America.
