My name is Cameron and I don't just read comics, I love them! This channel is all about sharing my journey in collecting. I'll be sharing: books that I'm reading, cool comic book shops, CGC submissions, my weekly podcast, and collectibles that I love. I love comics so much that I want to share them with the world!
DWJ is the next Frank Miller (not even trying to sound derivative, Miller is his inspiration). Highly recommended Beta Ray Bill and everything he’s drawn.
New to Superhero comics. From what I understand Batman got rebooted in 2011 with Syder, King , then Tynion. Is everything a continuous story? Also I noticed there's a bunch of side comics. I would prefer to not have to read a bunch of different titles. Can I just stick to Batman comic?
So glad you’re reading comics!! Welcome! Here’s a brief breakdown: New 52 2011: Scott Snyder writes Batman #1-52 DC Rebirth 2016: Tom King writes Batman #1-86 this is a soft reboot. You don’t need to read Snyder’s run to read this. But this is where the current Batman numbering starts even to books currently coming out. DC Rebirth (continued) Tynion writes 87-117. There are annual issues and event tie ins that affect every run, but not always necessary reading. My rule is to only read the tie-ins that are written by the current authors. Long story short, you don’t need to pick up the other titles always and you can just read “Batman” but other things will affect the Batman story.
What’s crazy about “the eye of God” is that brought nothing but violence, bloodshed and death where ever and whoever had it. Great story, still trying to figure out how CK ended up with it
I didn't LOVE Damian at first, but now I really do enjoy what he brings to the Bat-family dynamic. His character arc has been really really enjoyable to watch
Jumped in during the Bride of Doom arc, loved it until the end. Hoping to pick up the beginning of the series someday. The new FF run has been fun but not nearly as good
I dug this one, haven't read any other tom king batman. Would've liked a little more batman in the book, but as a first issue very solid. Btw human target is amazing!
I really enjoyed and appreciate the review so thank you, I recently purchased the tpb edition of the book and the story is truly a marvel masterpiece!. honestly it's one of the best comic book stories I've ever read and I love how wandavision took inspiration for the story aswell as from "the house of M" and "avengers disassemble".
I haven't been reading comics for too long, so I can't say whether or not they are mandatory reading, but I'd highly recommend Alan Moore's Swamp thing. Issues #34 and #45 are my favorite single issues ever. The character work is fantastic and the way he builds suspense and horror is perfect. I'm working my way through sandman right now. It is long, but you don't have to read everything back to back. It's a lot of seperate stories. I've been reading the deluxe editions as they've come out, some of the best comics I've ever read. Dense, yes, but rewarding. Definitely read Swamp thing first, it gets referenced in the first storyline
Of every title on this list, this is the one that I'm kicking myself about the most for not getting to. But, it's a character I really want to get into. We'll see though. Those new absolute editions are looking really good.. Thanks for the comment, I'll gladly check out those issues!
@@cameronreadscomics5450 I already read it but I'm still confused on what happened If he really called the cops on him then this is the first crime he ever solved
Very jealous of those Grant Morrison omnis, awesome haul! I was able to pick up ASM by Michelinie and McFarlane, really great so far, love the oversized artwork
I liked it well enough, but it was just too forgettable for me to justify the cover price. I held out through Tynion, but I think I'll be dropping the title. Thanks for the review!
I think there's room for him. Daredevil doesn't need to be so dark and brooding. I think if we take the pieces that we have and lighten them up, he'll be an excellent addition to the Marvel Universe!
Thanks for the great review! I picked up slotts FF#35 on a whim, and am loving the fun comicbookiness of it. Never read FF before, now I'm a big fan. I'll probably pick this up on your rec!
Same bro! I always try to watch the nominees before the ceremony but have yet to complete the task haha. I usually get done watching all of them about 5 months after 😂
I just finished volume 1 and I’m into it! Not quite as captivating as Wytches though. Took me a few issues to get invested in any of the characters but there are some good twists and turns and the ending made me want to pick up volume 2. Looking forward to your review bro!
