Day 724. I’ve been weighing up my options. My resources are depleting rapidly. I have barely enough essentials to survive here. The emergency beacon is buried in amongst the XS5 wreckage and is 5 days worth of rations away. Even if I am strict with myself, I have only enough rations to last a 3 day expedition (3 and a half at most.) By the end of Day 729, I shall either have fired the emergency beacon into space and have been rescued, or I shall be dead. To anyone that finds this letter, know that I did my duty until the very last and I never gave up hope of survival or rescue. This truly is a dark and desolate place and we were foolish to put all our hopes for a prosperous future for our species on this planet. And remember, we’re not alone out here. Don’t drink the water and centre mass shots do nothing; aim for their limbs.
