Typical YF junk. Boat construction isn't stuck in the 80s. Your blokes can't even explain concisely construction methods or engineering terminology. "It just held up" really inspires confidence in the customers when the manager can't even believe it hasn't cracked its welds yet.
What a great overview of the process! One question though. Around the 4:01 mark we can see that the bottom supports are not touching or welded to the sides above the chine. Why is this? Thank you!
Luxury boats Looks good Stable at rest Roomy Ride quality: 7 /10 Dry ride 6/10 Visibility 8/10 Head on Sea 6/10 Following sea 7/10 Slaps like a bitch Overall fibre glass boats or go home
In the part of the video where the guy was talking about the 350 hours and they had a close up of the bilge/keel, I thought the same... Def not "stack-o-dimes". That said the fact that they use the slotted keel and weld both sides I believe would make a way sturdier boat than a flat bar with one weld to a large sheet. If you missed the super keel it was in the beginning of the video 1:38, also I think he was implying that the chine rail 2:49 (edge of the boat) was a channel configuration as well. I am not an engineer, but the channel with weld on both sides seems to me to be a way better way to build and his explanation of the reinforcemnt clearly shows they care about a solid build.
I friend of mine got his yellow fin last year he said worst boat he ever had the aluminum ended up leaking within 2 months had to repair it myself I ended up selling boat but never will I own a aluminum boat only fiberglass boats
I'm a boat builder from Perth Western Australia. Strip frame boats like these fatigue/flex alot more than full frame boats. The frames always crack, mainly around the fuel tank mounts.
I have a 6500 HT on order to be delivered in October. What would have helped me prior to putting the deposit down would have been to see some more videos of it. Most of the videos on RU-vid is mainly of older vessels! Can't wait for the boat!
Brought a Yellowfin 5800 folding hard top back when the new model came out in 2019, Had a few teething problems but Riverina Marine and Yellowfin have fixed all of them with no drama and fuss and have bent over backwards to help me where they can, have done alot of game fishing out the shelf with it love the ride and stability Highly Recommended
Great concept but they are NOT secure with larger rods and reels mounted. They can work the detent pin loose when under way with the tackle crashing dangerously to the deck.
The seat is not designed very well. One of the biggest issues with boating is body fatigue. Constantly having to adjust to stabilise the body. The seat doesn't do enough and the space in between the 2 positions is wasted. At 1:51 the driver has no support other than his own body weight and the friction on the seat. IF, they were bolstered in with a immoveable back rest they would have so much more support. That set up could be repeated on the other side. I think the ideal position is a 1/4 standing, 3/4 sitting, leaning back set up with bolsters and you can still have esky under the seat. It doesn't have to a racing harness, locked in capsule, but just some moulded edges and some thought outside of "where does THE SEAT go?" The SITTING position. I am not standing, so therefore I must SIT. It is a boat out at sea, not an office. And as for the gunnels, don't get started. Other than that, your boats are AWESOME.
@@Rexy888 If you lost the platform you would have to supply some storage some other way. But if we got a close look at the boat I am sure we could think of something.
@@scottypersia5715 not the whole cast deck just that piece infront or push the console back slightly so seating could be possible between there you could put storage under a seat infront of the console like some American boats. But the rest of the boat is great.
